Well, a silencer is always useful, but given the other attachment choices I'd be tempted to swap it out for a sight or M203 with the claymore/scavenger loadout.

If I'm holed up in a room with a claymore covering the entrances, I'm actually going to want people to come for my back as I take pot-shots out of the window. It's no good people not knowing you're there or your traps will go untripped!

Absolutely a silencer. You should have seen some of it, I was lying in tall grass about to generate a new claymore, someone comes along, I pop up and shoot them before dropping back down, then as my bar fills and my claymore comes back, a guy is stood right in front of me trying to work out what's going on. I wait for the bar to fill, jump up and shoot him, then put a claymore down, which gets someone else as I'm on the floor again. This goes on all round. Couldn't have done it without the silencer and their lack of communication. I was basically trapping their route to my team, if I wasn't silenced that boundary would naturally have been pushed forward and they'd be more wary going around the corner I was behind.

yet 90% of people doing that STILL run past me!

You dont fuck about when it comes to shooting enemy air support down either, do you? At one point I was thinking I would try and beat you to killing the harrier, after the initial air strike came in I thought I would bust out the rocket launcher and shoot the one with the gun down. I think it went down before it started hovering care of one of your rockets!

In other news, the quest to get all perks to Pro is almost complete. Just got Danger Close done (and dinged 55 in the same game)

Got everything in tier one done, everything in tier two is done, I only have SitRep left to do in tier three. Dunno how long that will take, its the only perk that is dependent on other people.

I quite like the Danger Close perk though. I think Ill keep using it in some games. Its lovely to be able to fire a rocket into a room and clear it out. On maps like Afghan, a rocket or M203 grenade into the centre caves or the bunkers is a really high chance of a kill.

Oh, and I have finally been nuked. Two games in a row, at least five people in a FFA were all working together to get it. I joined the first game late, so I didnt really get what was going on other than some guy already had well over 1000 points. Then the Nuke hit. I didnt realise you get a new callsign if you are the victim of a nuke ("Toxic") so I was kinda happy to get that. The annoying thing was in the lobby when the lads who were clearly working together were trying to "sell" the legitimacy of the Nuke (well, they all spoke like 18 year old students from the home counties, which is unusual at the best of times, especially in FFA games where you rarely get more than three people with mics connected)

I was trying to figure out where they were in the next round as I wanted to fuck the guys killstreak over. I am guessing they were just taking it in turns to get the nuke, one is the guy who call it in, one is the victim and three of the others protect the area they are cheating in. The guy who got the nuke in the first game I joined was 0-25 in the next round after about a minute and a half. Is it worth reporting that kind of behaviour? Im guessing its like the Javelin glitch, as in they will do fuck all about it.

The claymores are so much better than I thought, getting so many kills with them it's crazy.

They're my best friend for Domination. No matter who you're up against, someone from the enemy team will always stroll up to one of the flags you've left one at.

I was in a game last night and experienced my first nuke. A quick check of the leaderboards at the end showed the guy who'd set the nuke off actually had his clan tag as "NUKE", and had something like 30-3 k/d spread. I then noticed a player on the other team also had a clan tag of "NUKE" and had no kills and 25 deaths to his name. Twats.

Had a great game on Wasteland though, I started off with a few deaths and then managed to get a streak going. Got a care package with a turret in whch I stuck in the bunker, then I got a triple kill with my Predator which took me up to 8 kills and my emergency airdrop. That delivered me a chopper gunner which, combined with my turret keeping them out of the bunker led to utter carnage and a 31-5 kd for me and game over. :D

I joined a Search & Destroy game t'other day and neither team were shooting each other, just wandering up to each other and milling around.

I start playing normally and got a ton of abuse for it. Can't quite work out what was going on there.

That reminds me of the time at Uni when I somehow managed to initiate a Christmas Day armistice style ceasefire in CounterStrike, with the players from both teams striving to build the tallest human stick possible.

I feel like I have definitely hit my skill limit. I'll often be up against players I have absolutely no chance of being better than. People who are too fast, too creative, have a ridiculously accurate aim. I am still on daily though, I dont think I have not played for at least an hour for more than a week now. I think I will be one of these people who is doomed to a life with a negative K/D ratio though.

Lets hope there is a huge influx of new players at Christmas I can kill! B)

Might have to give danger close a little whirl after watching that vid a few pages back.

PS... Is a negative k/d even mathematically possible?

Well, I know what I mean. If I have died more times than I have killed then my ratio is negative. Even if in MW2 its just given as a number less than 1. The "negative" thing is probably a hangover from the old Counter Strike method, where I would currently be at about -800. :(

I tried out that Danger Close kit in that youtube video, and it works really well. The AT4 is one hell of a launcher. I've almost got the 25 multi-kills with an RPG challenge in an hour of games.

I find it works best on the smaller maps, like Highrise and Afghan. It's not as great on the big open maps.

Is there a limit to the number of care package markers you can have queued up? I want to equip care package, sentry gun and emergency airdrop and earn them all twice over so I can throw six markers down in the middle of the map and watch everyone fight over the 12 crates that have just dropped from the sky.

i knew exactly where one guy was, and thought to myself that i would run around the corner and stab instantly into his face, by that point when somebody has that thought - the other person is finished, they won't know it yet .. but they're finished, ran around the corner, pressed the knife button right in the guys head and BOOOOOM dual shotty. that's when i realised it's ridiculous, how can his reactions be quicker when my stabbing animation is already in action? superhuman shit. anyone else and it would have been lights out, i thought i may have got unlucky and went around the corner just as he shot at someone else but it looked pretty clear

I'm not tiring of it, I wish I was. I'm tiring of any game that isn't it instead. Looks like all those chicken publishers running off to Q1 were on to something. The fact that I started off so terribly and don't really care about what anyone else is doing, and how often they're killing me because of it, helps. My KDR is still going up by at least 0.01 every day.

You can only have three care package markers per life, but they can be all queued up.

I might be extremely lucky, but I still haven't come across a single Akimbo shotgunner / Ripper / Javelin glitcher / Nuke team yet, that I know of anyway, and I've done about 14 hours or so online.

I do only play FFA though (tried team stuff a few times but just like being responsible for myself and not having to worry about letting the team down) so maybe that's why?
