'Noob tubers' = People using the assault rifle's grenade launcher. Using them to get kills takes little skill and considered to be cheap.

I would think it takes as much skill as using any other weapon, doesn't it? I was using it last night to unlock the shotgun on the FAMAS and it's nowhere near as easy to get kills as with the thumper, for example. Although maybe that's because I've used the thumper loads and I find switching to the grenade attachment a chore.

Mind you, I suppose you can still use a Heatbeat Sensor with it I suppose.

I find the noob tube much easier to use than the thumper, as the UGL fires as soon as you pull the trigger, whereas with the thumper there’s a little animation that delays the actual launch.

Isn't it far easier to hit someone by aiming straight at them with an assault rifle though? With a grenade launcher you've got to judge elevation and range, often taking into account a moving target! With a gun you just point at them.

EDIT: I forgot about the blast radius perk, I might equip that and the 'noob tube' if it nobs people off so much!

Quick question, I'm working on the FMJ challenges at the moment and it seems I've got to destroy forty killstreak rewards to get extended mags or something. Does that mean I can shoot down Helis and the like with FMJ equipped? FAMAS, by the way.

Noob tube take little to no skill to use, i saw a game winning killcam of someone firing a noob tube into the same room, nowhere near the guy and gets a kill!

Must have been quite a big room as they've got that delay charge doo-dab. I've not used USGs to any great extent until very recently, certainly they're a bit cheap but to say they require no skill isn't accurate - at close quarters you're buggered if you don't get a direct hit and judging the arc at distance is certainly a skill. As fun as it's been prancing about with the USG OMA/DC loadout over the last few days I'm not doing any better than before, in fact on some maps it's a clear hindrance.

It's annoying when they fire quite far from you and it kills you, but I still agree with you. You have to judge the elevation, make sure you're not too close, get it pretty accurate etc, and that's after you've seen the other person assuming they didn't see you first or are in a position you can't get them from. Then if you miss there's a big reload time for the next grenade and you're probably dead. I never use them (even with the one man army trick) because I prefer rifles. I don't think they're overpowered.

They really need to patch this game - last night I kept coming up against suicide bombers all the time - the blast radius on those cunts is incredible, I was nowhere near them and getting killed. And I'm not sure how they do it, but even knifing them in the back when they don't know you're there results in instant detonation.

And akimbo fuckers piss me off too........

as for noob tubing, I only use it to unlock the shotgun to get the full unlock for the weapon. I love doing it at close range so it doesn't detonate - you get a really satisfying THUMP as it slams into them and sends them flying!

Noob tubes are awesome, sure you don't need a direct hit but that is part of the point - perfect for dealing with campers, hard to reach snipers, riot shield users, etc. the dual shotguns are irritating as hell, I've found heartbeat sensor somewhat useful against them as it gives a warning of when someone is closing in.

TAR 21 is an amazing weapon I think, I love it. Iron sights are better than any of the sight attachments too, so I usually go with HBS and silencer.

A grenade launcher though you don't have to hit them, just land it near them, which is pretty easy even from a distance or just aim where you know the enemy spawn is at the start and you could get a cheap kill.

This is why I don't play search and destroy, a gametype that's about 5 years out of date.

See my quoted post above for more evidence on how it's no longer worth playing.

Well, I don't have a clue about where spawn points are even though I'm at level 32 or so now, so I don't know about that, but I'm sure you'd agree that firing in a straight line is easier than even landing it near them.

The suicide guys are probably using that Javelin exploit - assuming its on the 360 version that has yet to fix the issue.

Yeah man, I fucking hate these idiots with their rifles and ACOG scopes. All they have to do is put the crosshair over my head and pull the trigger. The bullets travel so fast that there's no warning or chance to get out of the way!

Almost every game I played on the 360 last night was a latent mess - most games half or more of the players had 3 bar connections, and you could unload most of a clip into someone before they dropped (presumably because you weren't actually 'on target' with most of the bullets). This worked both ways, and the number of times I walked away from head-to-head encounters after the other guy shot at me was ridiculous - some better host selection and match-making is definitely required.

The party system kept fucking up too, and it took ages for all of my party to get into a game together - one or more of us would be left behind or dumped into a different match, or dropped from the lobby for no apparent reason.

The auto-aim seemed extremely obvious - I don't know if that was due to the high latency maybe(?), but having my reticule dragged across the screen as some previously unseen enemy appeared nearby was both disconcerting and massively unfair on the opponent. It must have been bad, because I've never noticed it before. I want my kills because I got them, not because the game half-plays itself. IW have some work to do.

I have really lost my touch in the last day or so. I think its probably my obsession with trying to upgrade every perk to "Pro" rather than just getting on with playing the game.

I only have Danger Close and SitRep to go now. Its funny that the thread has turned to noob tubers at the point where I am having to use them to unlock Danger Close Pro (get 100 kills with explosives while using Danger Close, I am sitting on about 60 at the moment.)

I am actually having more problems getting the kills than I thought I would. I think its the way I play, I have always been the guy who likes to flank and fight from medium to close range, and that is a pain with the M203 as a lot of shots either kill without exploding or bounce off the ground and fail to explode. Still, I am unlocking the shotgun for all the Assault Rifles as I go. Any tips for getting kills with the M203 though? I want to do it as quickly and painlessly as possible. Im just running around in TDM or FFA at the moment and just hoping I see people at range. I get picked off by people in windows all the time, and I cant take the M203 inside, it never explodes.

The other perk, SitRep looks easy get to pro, but it also looks like it will be one hell of a long slog. Luckily its in tier 3, so I am not giving up anything amazing to take it. It turns things like claymores, grenades and Tactical Insertions red, and you can see them through walls. You can see them from the other side of the map almost actually. Its just that not that many people use claymores and tactical insertions and I need 120 of the fuckers. You can go entire games without seeing anybody use them. Again, any tips?

Thats assuming you actually have to see someone to kill them with a ugl, you just fire it at a random corner and you might get a kill even if you had no idea there was anyone there.

Man, I love claymores. There's nothing better than protecting your position with one, hearing the footsteps approach, the click, and the blast as the enemy is taken out. You just have to careful how to position them to ensure you get people with Marathon on. It's also great when you set one up, forget about it, and then minutes later get a 'free' kill as some unsuspecting soul blunders into it :D
