Odd that iBlast Moki is preving troublesome for you dood - I downloaded it without any issues yesterday, although Canabalt wasn't updating properly, going to try it again in a while.

I got Canabalt this morning on my computer after trying and failing loads of times on my iPhone.

I think the issue with Canabalt and other download issues at the moment is that the database that tells iTunes or iPhone when there is a new version to download is being updated before the new binary is in place. So with Canabalt, iTunes kept trying to install the old 3MB version whereas the new version is 10MB but presumably wasn't actually available at the time.

Thing is, some people were getting it and others weren't, so it looks like changes aren't going through to all the servers properly, or something. Nobody but the people who maintain the App Store servers will ever know for sure, I guess.

which is like Winterbells, except where Winterbells is lovely and life affirming, Elf is Shitly and Shit Ashitming.

<_<

I think that's a bit harsh. Seems perfectly okay to me, for free. None of that annoying tapping of enemies you get with Doodle Jump. Not as special as Winterbells, granted,

Same is happening with Stair Dismount today

orbital is bugging the shit out of me, it's really nice, but the chance of failure feels almost random, they could have at least allowed you control the strength of your shot, or added a second chance or 2 to the onscreen barrier.. a few more common sense based tweaks and they might have a nice game...

Yeah, that sounds suspiciously like you're a bit shit at it.

Another vote for Angry Birds from me too, great fun and v v addictive :)

+1 here too...

Also Auditorium (theres a flash version floating round t'interwebs somewhere), which is a lovely slightly musical light-direction-shifting puzzler type of affair... very addictive and beautifully simple - although the last update broke the dlc and now the game won't load... a new update is showing (which is supposed to fix it again), but not downloading properly (like Canabalt the other day).

I don't believe it. I got got the Sword of Fargoal, ran all the way back to the beginning and then what? Apparently, it had been stolen from me from some SHIT HEAD on one of the previous levels and I hadn't noticeed. I was so annoyed I twittered about it, and the developer said that in that case, in an update, they'd make it clearer to the player when this happens. THAT WON'T WIN ME THE $500!

I usually kill any cunt who nicks stuff off me. I didn't even see this one.

I hope this doesn't sound patronising or anything, but have you noticed that you can see the sword on your character when you've got it?

Anyway, today's free games are Cheese Collect and bitFlip. Haven't tried either yet.

And Ridge Racer is out. I've popped over to the Touch Arcade forums to see first impressions and everyone seems to hate it when they first play it, then it seems to grow on them. Pretty horrid experience on anything less than a 3GS or Touch 3G by all accounts, though. And it's yet another Namco DLC rapefest, but that's no surprise.

Ridge Racer: In car view gives decent sensation of speed, no structure to the game, steering really rather good once you get used to it, game very hard in some cars, shocking framerate issues even on 3GS, little content unless you buy DLC. Overall, very promising beta, but it needs a serious update and the real cost is way above the listed price.
