The newest Kairosoft drug is out, and it's called Beastie Bay. It's FREE.

Well, freemium.

It's basically a monster-raising Pokémon-em-up

Christ this has sucked hours of my time already and there's a lot to it - island management, creature development, tourism and the Pokemon style fights - it's superb and apart from the ads the free version isn't gimped in any way. I think I should give them a couple of quid though if only for the time I've played already :)

I'm assuming Outrun is unlikely due to licensing?

If they stripped out all of the Ferrari references and left us with 'generic red sports car' I'd be happy.

Even better, get the licence back!!! Remember that Sega managed to re-license the soundtrack for Crazy Taxi on iOS... Nothing's impossible.

Pawn'd is really good, but I was a bit annoyed after about ten games when it wanted me to buy coins before it would let me play again. (Admittedly, I could earn coins by leaving feedback or allowing it access to my twitter account).

Edit: bought the full version. Scarily addictive and highly recommended.

I ended up getting a bit bored with it. I mean, expanding the city was nice and stuff and finding new matches was kind of cool, but after a while it just kind of got into a stage where I'd unlock a new building, not really pay attention to what it was whilst placing it and then it'd get swamped in the mass of new things popping up as I went through.

Then again, I made the mistake of starting Pocket Planes at the same time and rather than just concentrating on one or the other I tried to keep both on the go and in the end both suffered for it.

Questlord is worth a punt for anyone with an Undercroft shaped hole in their lives, similar dungeon crawling mechanics with touch screen interactions eg swipe to attack. Haven't played much but it has a cute pixelly charm, and seems a good size. I'd link to the app but haven't worked out how to do it from my phone.

Chillingo's Rock Runners is very good - its a 69p single button sidescroller with a nice jump and swing mechanic - most enjoyable and very pretty looking - can't quite say its as good as Jetpack Joyride but well worth checking out if you like that kind of thing
