Was just looking for a game to play on my iPad during Christmas and found out Monkey Island 2 was 69p on the 20th, rllmuk iOS games thread, I am disappoint.

I knew the monkey island tales series was reduced, but cant see anything about monkey island 2 being reduced on appshopper. unless you still living in 2010?

Anyone played Galactic Phantasy? Seems to have a range of mixed reviews for an Elite style game. I tried Galaxy on Fire but the battle stuff was just minging for me.

Also Bastion just.... wtf? Its better than its console counterparts! I played it to death on 360 but its a joy to go back through with touch controls.

Bought Galactic Phantasy as I like the look and idea, can't say it's grabbed me too much so far. Bad dialog and the combat seems crappy. Will do a few more missions but I'm not holding up much hope.

Totally agree on Bastion, anyone who doesn't have it - it's 69p you mad bastard, get it.

just found a nice 69p movie quiz pixel art thing called MiniQuiz, its got 200 films you need to guess with minipop style drawings, offers hints if you get stuck with coins you earn in game for guessing correctly.

Can't find this in AppShopper or the App Store - is it definitely called MiniQuiz?

Edit: Found it, it's called PixelQuiz

Been playing for about an hour this morning and it reminds me of Infinite Space on the DS. Very similar mechanics but a better game, not bad for the price.

On past form unless they do a revamp for another system I'd say pretty low. All of their other ports had been updated previously, FF III is from the new DS version. FF I & II, Tactics and IV are all ports of their PSP updates. The only update VI has seen is on the GBA which also had a new translation which wouldn't convert easily to the high resolution of an iOS device.

Apple pulled AppShopper because they changed their terms and it no longer met them.

There's a post on the AppShopper blog saying they think they will be back.

New to iPad gaming and I just finished Secret of Monkey Island. What an absolutely brilliant way to play old adventures: using touch pad and lying on the couch!

One question though: started playing Broken Sword again on the PC couple of weeks ago. As I would like to continue playing it on the iPad, can I somehow transfer the latest save game from PC to iPad?

This is great Christmas entertainment, I'm totally stumped by stage 23 at the moment, once I get the two greens and start the spikes I can't work out how to get the reds linked up.

EDIT: Solved. Nothing like posting about it to clear the mind.

EDIT EDIT: Yay, pyramid 1 completed.

Anyone considering buying Bastion as it's cheap today, it will only work on iPhone 4S devices or later, not on iPhone 4 - but it will let you pay for and download it!

Admittedly, the App description does state this, but I didn't read it - as it was discounted I immediately hit "buy". I knew that this can happen (because apparently you can't set up which devices your app will work with on the store), but I had hoped it had been sorted with the coming of iOS6.

Yeah I believe the way it still works for devs is you're allowed to ask for "capabilities" but not models. i,e - "Only install on a device with GPS" but not "Only install on an iPhone 3GS or later".

Which leads to some weirdness where devs demand completely irrelevant features because that happens to coincide with the devices their app works on.

I'm amazed at the lack of things happening in the Christmas iOS scene, no posts in this thread for two days!?

Thought I'd point out that toucharcade.com have a bunch of Best Of 2012 lists up per game genre, good for picking up a few decent titles you may have missed.

I've downloaded about 50 random kids' games to satiate the constant demands of three small nephews.

"Uncle Tony can we play on the iPad?! Uncle Tony can we play on the iPad?!"

"I AM TRYING TO COOK A TURKEY HERE!"

Etc.

However, that Ghostbusters game which uses the camera is pretty cool.
