Vectrex Regeneration is out too!

The app is free and Minestorm is included, to access the rest of the games you have to purchase the Megapack. Here in the UK the Megapack costs £4.99 which currently includes Armour Attack, Bedlam, Bezerk, Blitz!, Cosmic Chasm, Fortress Of Narzod, Heads Up, Hyper Chase, Pole Possition, Rip Off, Scramble, Solar Questt, Spike, Star Castle, Star Ship, Star Hawke & Web Wars.

The indy games currently included are Continuum, Thrust, Vector & War Of The Robots.

I've tested the app on an iPhone 4S & a iPad 2. Both work fine (There had been reports that it doesn't work on the iPad 2) and I haven't had any software crashes so far. Touch screen controls work far better on the iPad obviously due to there being more space on the screen but really to get the most out of this app you will need an icade or other controller device. Saying that, I still found Minestorm enjoyable on my iPhone with the touch screen controls.

Everything seems to be very well emulated but there is no speech on Spike! Darnit!!!

Obviously the blur effect from the original hardware is not really found here but I'd say that this is a very good app and well worth taking a look at, especially if you have an icade.

Update!!! If you've got two devices, eg an ipad and an iphone or ipod touch.

Start the vectrex app in both, get to the same menu screen for a game, eg Minestorm with 'sound/overlay' along the top showing.

On the ipad select controls/connect, select the ipod/iphone under player 1 and then your ipod/iphone is turned into a vectrex remote ! Very cool and works well!

Recently I added a bunch of you on Game Centre. I have a question about notifications. I do want to be told when I have a LetterPress turn, or if someone has added me as a friend or whatever. But at the moment I'm also getting a bunch of messages about Haribo's Happy Street game: challenges to fish for a load of trout or whatever. I'm not playing that right now. Do I have any options to control those messages ?

Yeah look in settings -> notifications, find the app you want to mute and adjust the options there.

What, I'm not choosing to send you these messages Graham and apologise if they are annoying. When the prompt comes up during play and you select yes, I'd assumed that it only sent a message to fellow Happy Street gamers. This is a shit 'feature' (clearly designed to promote the existence of certain games) that is going to be abused to fuck by developers, Apple need to sort this shit out now.

The thought that I've been indadvertedly sending my 62 year old stepmother fucking Happy Street notifications... urgh.

I do own Happy Street. It's not installed. I was buying it for my daughter who has a different Game Centre id on her device (but the same main App Store account). I've not played it yet. It's not listed among my Game Centre apps.

So I'm guessing they go out to all your friends, but it's possible that I've turned on some Happy Street flag in some database somewhere by my actions.

Don't worry, it's only been about 4 texts so far. I might end up installing the game and I'll be glad of your trout alerts.

I think sometimes front facing camera is used as a proxy for "device that doesn't have enough RAM or CPU". Apple don't allow differentiating between some of the models of iOS devices on the store. This is a cheeky workaround for devs who can't get stuff to work on older devices. Or so I heard.

Balls! Yet another racer where it's actually impossible to power slide - which is the main fun factor in a top down racer. The car just sticks to the track.

Looks nice, but I am disappoint.

Have you tried Reckless racing 2? That's all about the powerslide, and very pretty too
