Hello chaps,

Finally upgraded to iPhone 5 so the gaming world is now my oyster. I couldn't see a recommended list or a spreadsheet and only loosely follow the topic, so I might have missed some corkers.

I would much appreciate your input on some titles.

- I love "get as far as you can" games (Pitfall, Whale Trail, Jetpack)

- I love big hitters (Angry Birds, Infinity Blade)

- I'm not a fan of "press this and it will be ready in 3 hours" games (tiny tower, pocket planes)

- I like football games (new star, fluid football)

- I like tower defence but only really polished or interesting ones (kingdom rush, PvZ)

- I like anything that I can understand in 10 seconds but take hours to master

Cheers in advance for any recommends.

It's relatively simple. Try to make words that surround letters with your colour, making them darker, so that your opponent gets no points for using them. Then, aim to make a word using the final unused letters to end the game, with you having the larger score in the final move.

Of course, there's many a slip twixt cup and lip, as they say! The real tactics come into when you play a great word, knowing that you will give your opponent the idea to use a derivative word and 'take back' many of the letters, etc.

Fairway Solitaire is one of the two games I still play on a daily basis, amazing daily action.

Yeah, the daily courses were a great addition to an already brilliant game... I couldn't manage that one that had you getting under par in 30 seconds or less though.. :(

I've web using their letters in an attempt to 'snatch' them. This isn't the right way? I've only played in spurts on trains etc., not had time to really sit down with it yet.

If 'web' means 'been', then it's part of the right way.

Let's say there are two letter S on the board, one unused, one in your opponent's colour. You want to make a word that uses one letter S. You have to make a choice. Using an untouched letter will score you a point, but not reduce your opponent's score by one point for that same letter, or perhaps not remove a letter protecting your opponent's other letters...so it may seem a worse move tactically than using your opponent's S.

However, using the untouched letter may help protect one of your letters, and it may move the game closer to the end move. So it might be better, even though it scores less. Hope that makes sense! Lettepress is surprisingly tactical.

EDIT: Jewish isn't in the LP dictionary? That's a bit shit.

I've been playing 10000000 for most of the weekend. My top score is around 7mil and I have now maxed my abilities so only skill between me and the win. Haven't had a decent game since I maxed out to give me the win. It feels a little laggy at times on my ipod touch too which isn't helping.
