I've avoided Bad Piggies because I utterly despise Angry Birds... Am I being silly?

depends what you want, if you despise the pig characters then it will annoy the crud out of you, if you fancy a really solid physics puzzler for 69p where you get to quickly build vehicles to achieve goals in quite well designed and tricky levels (to 3 star anyway) then its a no-brainer.

Got my PB on Super Hexagon up to 51.28 this morning on the bus. Really enjoying it.

As for Rayman, I dont think people can moan at the price or lack of content. Its just as polished and good as the vita version which is £30! also, I have sunk a fair amount of time into it, if you go for perfect every level (which you really should otherwise its too easy) it gives a fair challenge. I just have three left before its all done, need to look into the achievements after that see if anything worth aiming for there.

Indeed, even getting 100% on the first few levels gave me a good challenge, and one that you always feel you can do "next time". In fact I got a "stubborn" achievement for the sheer number of times I was restarting a level if I missed a Lum.

It looks great as well, really good use of parallax scrolling, which is not something I thought I'd say in 2012.

Oh, come on. It's a lovely game, but it's not a proper platformer like Origins. It's polished and fun, but all you're doing is tapping, and there's nowhere near as much of it.

I'm really enjoying Bad Piggies, but there's this one level I just can't seem to 3 Star because of the way its designed. The crate is right over the exit, so I always end up hitting the exit before the crate so it doesn't register.

Is this a glitch, or am i just not doing it right?

Noticed yesterday evening that there's now a new version of MAMC on the App Store, called Super Monsters Ate My Condo. It's pretty much the same game (which is to say; it's brilliant), but the Endless Mode is now gone and it focuses instead on the two minute mode. However, it's now added Shibuya (or Tiny Wings)-esque challenges, Perks (called 'Boosts', I think, with examples being 'Start with the green monster's power activated for the first twenty seconds', 'Start with a Cat Block', etc), new Condo types (for more time, coins, etc and, somewhat sadly, a coin system (for having the Boosts active, skipping challenges, etc), which of course leads to IAPs...

The core mode is a great new way to play, and the IAPs aren't strictly necessary, but they are a little too helpful. Without them you may well end up playing "dead" games where you have little or no chance of a high score while you build back up your coins in order to reactivate your Boosts, etc.

It's a tough one to call - it's not changed much from the original MAMC, which is still my favourite iPhone game, and adds an absorbing new mode (I was up until 2am...), but it is all slightly sullied by the IAPs. If you want a new take on MAMC then it's only 69p, and still great, but I'd still recommend the original over it. Personally, I'm just enjoying having two versions of one of my favourite games on my iPhone, even if it does feel like 'Super' could've just been a new mode added to the original in an update.

Oh, and SMAMC is optimised for the iPhone 5 (with no borders) too apparently, if that's relevant to anyone yet...

well quite... I see it as a really great trainer and encouragement to buy the full game. I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I'm tempted to go back and give Origins another chance now after having played this... and the music levels in Legends will be longer versions of these types of levels.

I really love Bad Piggies, getting obsessed (think because its like Fantastic Contraption which i also got obsessed with), its so tricky to 3 star even some of the earlier levels but love coming back later and having a brainwave.

Some levels take 3 different vehicles to get each of the targets, its very clever.

Had a peek at the sandbox too which seems to be far bigger levels with a far bigger creation space that you try to get as far as you can into, again its very nice.

With this & Fairway Solitaire I'm really well set on ios for extended loo breaks.

Well the fun ratio for me was pretty much the same, as was the level of polish, hence my statement. Origins is deeper and more content, but that doesn't really impact on my statement.

I'm a big fan of both though.

Bad Piggies is absolutely aces and for 69p. It's worth that alone just to hear the piggies giggle when that've been sent on their way. Sometimes it just take out the boxing though - I spent ages trying to figure out how to complete a level under the time limit and then I tried something that I thought stupid....but completely obvious and got that time limit star. I love just trying stuff once I complete a level!

I think I like Bad Piggies too much, bought it on phone, pad and now just found the mac version, enjoyed playing thru first 12 levels as much on the mac as the first few times, and managed to 3* them all.

Being logical about it and removing my ios pricing filter (which we all seem to have) a total price of £6.67p (plus even this is discounted as get cheap ios money) for all 3 giving hours of gameplay doesn't seem like a lot really as I'd routinely drop 800pts on an xbla game I'd only play twice.

Just realised the little glowing skulls to collect too, got 2/20 so not sure what they unlock.

I do understand the odd ios reviews though about it not being more Angry birds, once the masses have something they like they'll stick with it forever with little demand for innovation or change (last of the summer wine, top gear, the sun, mcdonalds), this is a far far better game but just not so 'casual' friendly.

It's a billion times better.

But it does have one fatal bug, that you can run exactly the same thing twice and get different results. If there is ONE requirement of a physics puzzler, it's physics. Here you could try a solution, have it fail and discard it when actually it would have worked.

EDIT : I should be clear this has happened on levels with no wind and where no control over the vehicle was required or available.
