The best tip I've got for it is to play the fastest mode you've got unlocked for about ten minutes, then go back to the one you're struggling on. It'll seem so slow in comparison and you'll feel like you've got forever to react.

The Happy Street update is out, and I am also out. I was hoping it'd fix the login issue I had after the developer fucked up my account, but alas, no. I've not been able to connect to it for weeks even though I've been logged into Game Center so no lucky spin, no visiting friends for flooz, no friends' hotel, nothing. And if something goes wrong, my street's not backed up to a server anywhere so it'd be fucked forever.

So I think I've completed the main campaign of Kingdom Rush, and now unlocked several elite bonus stages. However starting any of them it recommends I have 50 stars or more, yet I've only got 30-something after getting 3 stars on each level.

What am I missing?

have you completed the iron fist and the heroic tests for each stage?

That's a shame. I just updated and got a new objective straight away.

Edit: Ooh, Circus Folk, and a Mask Shop!

I've done them for the first stage yeah, but didn't notice any change in stars? Or am I wrong?

1 star for each I believe, if you go into the stage, then click on the iron fist or heroic mission, in the top right it should say reward = star,

i've only done the first couple of stages myself so not sure if the reward changes the later in the campaign you get.

Nope, it's the same for each stage:

1-3 stars for the main campaign (normal or easy),

1 each for the two additional modes on the stage.

Are you using 15 to unlock the heros? You get them back if you disable the heros.

There is the odd one hidden too. If you can touch a jumping fish on one of the maps there's a free one there.

Just nailed super motherfucking hexagon on hardestestest (final stage)! Need to lie down now....

Not only is the game rewarding in itself it gives you an awesome easter egg for finishing all stages too! In my top 5 this year for sure.

I'm not sure you meant to quote me.. but isn't the fish one just an achievement, rather than a 'improve your guys' star?

Super Hexagon is amazing. When you first play any of the levels you're completely rubbish, then BANG, it click and you're the boss.

Without getting too pretentious about it it also messes up your perception of time - in what other games does 30 seconds seem like an eternity?

It was Eurogamer's app of the day today, but The Room really is a cut above the usual fluff they feature. It's an atmospheric, beautiful and unique puzzle game that feels at for all the world like exploring old wardrobes in a creaky mansion.

For £2.99 I can't recommend it enough.

EDIT: Sorry, iPad 2 and above only.

Yesterday looks worth a punt but the interface is a nightmare on the iPhone. Will try it on a pad

To be honest I did play it on the iPad originally, but I installed it on the iPhone the other day and I thought it was fine. You can tap the little target and see the available hotspots you can interact with.

But yeah, probably better on the iPad.

It's the using objects, especially with each other, that doesn't work well. My finger hides what I'm trying to click on and the hotspots are too small

I downloaded a bunch of stuff. Starting with The Curse. I thought the puzzles were dull and derivative. None of them offer any real challenge or brain melding until they introduce the ridiculously low time limits (don't get why that is to be honest. Puzzles shouldn't have a time limit. The cynic in me thinks it's because they wanted more IAPs).

I know it's a twentieth of the price of Prof Layton, but it's also 1/20th of the ingenuity, creativity and polish. Extremely dissapointing.

Kingdom Rush is ace though. When i saw you could buy gems to make it easier I feared the worst, but my only complaint is the lack of a save midlevel. King of Dragon Pass is incredibly dissapointing- I just have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing, which rapidally drains enthusiasm.
