New game out today from Infinite State games, called Frutorious!

Totally great! kinda like backwards pin ball mixed in with Donkey Kong Country, totally awesome game!

Music and Art style is super cool too, well impressed with this.

Should check it out, it's Free with extra levels unlocked via IAP, kinda bit like the way Magnetic Billiards has done it.

Had a lot of fun playtesting this. Don't forget to check out the Frutorious Pro mode, with gorgeous retro graphics...

Loving the first review for 'Air Mail' on that link:

"Controls are a tad on the sensitive side but then again so's the missus"

:D

I chuckled when I saw that as well.

I think the controls are fine though. I tried the Advanced controls but they scared me so I went back to tilt.

I'm only a few missions in (largely because I've been chilling in the Explore mode), but it really is a great little game. Here's the trailer in case anyone missed it in the smartphone vs handhelds thread:

I must say, I really am in hog heaven with the games I've currently got on the go. And you couldn't pick a more varied trio:

Gory R-rated adventure The Walking Dead:

Ace Pilotwings style arcade flight game Air Mail:

Animal Crossing style cutesy crack Happy Street:

Loving the Viking Longboat background my shop combo has created there.

Plus I have a handful of other excellent games bubbling under like One Tap Hero, or The Curse. These really are amazing times to be an owner of an iThing. And I watched the latest episode of Dr Who on the train home tonight. On my phone! And guess how I'm posting this?

Right Davros... since it's you... I've just gone and bought Super Hexagon, Yesterday, Air Mail and Galaxy On Fire 2. I'm going to give my iPhone the benefit of the doubt...

I watched The Thick Of It on my way to work yesterday on the bus. Now THAT was awesome.

Airport Scanner is pretty fantastic. It's currently free and it's worth it just for the animation alone. It's given me a few chuckles too as i discovered my first terrorist and had to refuse entry to a VIP character who wanted to travel with an axe.

Here's a camp man and a woman with nice tits to tell you more:

Currently enjoying Air Mail, a neat little flight sim where you play a young kid who is drafted into the Air Mail delivery game. It reminds me a little bit of the underrated PS2 game Sky Odyssey I'm only a little way into the game but so far seems a lot of fun and the control system is easy enough to use (tilt controls, although there is an option for touch controls) with lovely presentation.

It's nicely done... and controls well. It's a complete rip-off of Pilotwings on the 3DS though, with less interesting art style and music.

BUT.

For the price, it seems like a bit of a bargain and great value.

I mean yeah you still can't resist the Ninty comparison and you are damning with faint praise

but yes

It was the first thing I did, but more like "Yay! It's like Pilotwings!"

In fact the more you play the less like Pilotwings it is, because it has a plot that develops (I've just rescued someone from a hotel under enemy fire), and the environment is more like a Steampunk Wii Sports Resort Island, but it's a perfectly valid comparison. I like the art style though.

A lot of highly polished goodness for £1.49 though, eh?

Not had a problem so far, although I did see an option in the menus to turn fogging off.

In the first shot I posted up-thread, the "objectives" are the multiple rings you can see. In the second shot they're the glowing pillars of light, one of which is quite far away and fully visible. So not sure how much credence I'd give that particular criticism. Also the game gives you handy pointers about where to go.

I've had no problems with draw distance or spotting markers on the iPhone 4, I'm currently exploring the 4th island before I head in and start the objectives, once the main game is done with there is a mode called Express Delivery which I haven't looked at yet.

The Zookeeper VS IAP model needs to die in a fire, it's frustrating enough at the moment where the refresh timer is set to six minutes, as and when they up it to thirty, it can sod right off. That's not even mentioning the paid for cheat items. Oh and it currently costs £3 for 6 potions, or £7 for 12. Bargain.

I don't know that the paid for cheat items are that useful, really. Shuffle seems like a good idea but apparently takes two or three seconds to activate so it's only going to slow you down, and there's no guarantee of a better set-up. The boss can actually help you sometimes, because it makes NO MORE MOVE more likely and there's a decent bonus for that. Mud only lasts 15 seconds anyway, and isn't always that much of a hindrance if you get a thing that removes a type of animal at the start. Obviously it will be semi-useful, but I don't think any of them are really going to be the difference between victory and defeat if you're a decent player anyway.

I (think I) have some odd bugs in Happy Street. Like, the bat no longer appears, ever. And I'm two fangs short of a target, annoyingly. I've watched a few day/night cycles through and I actually still get the bird at night instead. Which is the other bug, not that I care so much. I've got 99% of the bird shitting on heads achievement, and no amount of crapping all over town will get that one over the line. Weird.
