Super hexagon seems easier on the iPhone than the iPad. I beat my record on my first attempt - maybe the width of the screen allows you to see further ahead?

Seems way easier to me, too. I've managed over twice as long on the phone as I did on the iPad.

Llamasoft have released a free version of Gridrunner. It comes with one mode (Survival) and you can pay a 69p IAP to unlock the rest. If you tried the original paid version and like me loathed the "loose and laggy" controls Jeff had chosen to implement you might be pleased to know that in this version the default novice controls are far, far more responsive and if not 1:1 they're as close as they need to be. It's an utter joy to play.

Two questions. How the hell do you pause? And how do I access the high score tables? Jeff doesn't seem to bother with instructions these days as far as I can tell.

To pause, tap in the top middle of the screen - you will see a paw image if you're in the right area.

The new version only has Game Center scores, the old one had Open Feint (you had to press start and then click on the OF logo to view them).

Had a quick play and seems like it would be great for multiplayer.

The free version of Game Table gives you the materials to play Chess, Checkers, Backgammon, Reversi, Go and Poker. No rules though so you would have to enforce them yourselves.

Quite like song pop. Get a lot of the same stuff come up though, feels like unless you win rounds the coin s very slowly build up. Obvious this is to make more money with it but I didn't really feel draw something, ... With friends did the same.

Draw Race is always good in multiplayer, you have a top down view of a race track and you draw the racing line each with your finger then you set the cars off racing on the line you drew.

I think there is a sequel but I've not played it.

2 is amazing - you can trade ghosts with mates which extends it exponentially

On that subject VS Racing2 has the same function and seems pretty good!

Currently enjoying Air Mail, a neat little flight sim where you play a young kid who is drafted into the Air Mail delivery game. It reminds me a little bit of the underrated PS2 game Sky Odyssey I'm only a little way into the game but so far seems a lot of fun and the control system is easy enough to use (tilt controls, although there is an option for touch controls) with lovely presentation.
