Just to say that a game is now out. I have tried said game. I have no idea why said game took them so long - it's pretty much got the same backend as their last game. Still, two primarily free games in one year - must be quite the money spinner.

Love this from their blog entry about the release: "(A game) makes this past-time more accessible and more social than ever before." Freudian slip? :)

And yeah, it's basically their last game with character art and a Carry On name, right?

Double Fine's first iOS game Middle Manager of Justice is now out.

Somewhere between GOOD and EVIL... Between ORDER and CHAOS... Between UPPER MANAGEMENT and the SENIOR STAFF... You'll find the glue that holds it all together: The Middle Manager of Justice!

Congratulations, you are the new Middle Manager of Justice! You have been hired to whip the latest branch of Justice Corp. into shape! Train and manage your team of superheroes to thwart crime and save citizens around the city! Increase efficiency in your branch by building new facilities and upgrading the equipment! Could it be done without you? Yeah, probably. But it would be sloppy, costly and demotivating!

It is 'freemium', but it hopefully it skews more towards the Nimblebit model than the EA one.

What annoys me most about these freemium/townbuilding games is that they all LOOK like Theme-Hospital, or Sim-City or what-not, yet none of them play like it.

The fact that the latest ThemePark game itself was actually a freemium town builder makes me think that the genre of old will never actually exist on iOS, despite being really well suited to the devices.

There was a forthcoming game someone mentioned a while ago, looked a bit like Star Trek meets X-Com. Anyone remember it and if so what happened to it?

Star Command, originally scheduled for release in Summer 2010 I think, 2 kickstarters later and it's still "Coming Soon".

It was an early broken version apparently.

So, Middle Manager of Justice went live accidentally last night! For those of you who jumped on it right away, you got an early preview for the game! Please note that the game isn’t indicative of what it should be yet! All the bugs will be ironed out, and there is much tuning to be done. For those of you that have the game now, any feedback regarding the game is welcome and appreciated! If you’ve already have purchased something in game, please note that it will still work when the game is updated. You can keep playing if you wish, but you should really wait for the full release in the coming weeks.

My favourite levels in Rayman Origins by far were the red tooth ones, the ones where you have to chase a chest and timing is everything.

Here's the new Rayman game for iOS, out in two weeks:

The beauty of those levels in Origins were that you basically never had to stop, so it was all about the timing of your jumps and stuff. Means that even though this auto-runs for you, it should play almost exactly the same as those levels.

Can't wait
