Gotta be quicker! You get 3 attack or defence for a match, but that goes up as you chain, and you get more for matching four or five at a time. Just being quick isn't enough, you have to be quick for a long time so the music changes and then maintain that, to beat the best people.

I was totally awesome at it yesterday, won something like 25 of 30 games and was hovering around 500 in the world, but since it was matching me with people around 500 in the world, I've had a big losing streak today and I'm back down to where I probably should be :lol:

Maybe old news but apparently N.O.V.A 3 (Gameloft Halo rip-off) is on sale for 69p at the moment...

I was pretty annoyed about this. I have £1.11 left on my iTunes account and tried to buy it yesterday, no matter what device I tried to buy it on, it would just not initiate the download or charge me. Now it has gone back up to £5.

Yeah, the other day I was in the zone and shot up into at least within the top 6000. Yesterday, I was only winning the odd game and dropped to about 9 million. It's both equal frustrating and fun but sometimes I just get loads of WTF moments as game after game you end up struggling to find get any score, you get no bonus items and you watch your opponent dump dirt, the zookeeper, multiple hearts per game AND destroy you in 2 rounds. Ggnngnghhg

You actually get as many bonus items as your opponent, 'cause you get the same grids. The only thing different is which bonus items you get as it's random, or whether you play well enough to have them drop. So if you get loads of binoculars there's a chance your opponent got mud, etc. (And it works both ways).

Do Square Enix just not get how the iStore works? World is not Enough is now out at £12.99! It must be effecting sales at that point, because no matter how good a game it is if its too expensive you won't sell shedloads. They really need to slash most of their prices.

They've been releasing stuff at prices like this for years, if it wasn't working they'd have stopped by now.

Activision Anthology is out today. Looks quite good - free at the moment, not sure how many games you get but it looks like H.E.R.O is available!

Edit: Come free with Kaboom! and there's another 45 game available, full pack is £9.99.

Edit 2: It's not bad. Looks like they've altered the control scheme, Kaboom doesn't have an on-screen joystick, but swipe style controls.

So lets get a list of recommended iPad games going. I've only just bought mine but some of the best games I've picked up so far:

Time Geeks & Friends - Fantastic on retina

Back to the Future Episode xxx - Fantastic, works really well and the first ep is free

Emergency - I love this to bits, neat little emergency services strategy games

Galaxy on Fire 2 HD - Elite on an iPad

Real Racing 2HD - Gran Turismo for the iPad, really cheap considering how good it looks and plays really well

Alien Breed - Nuff said, fantastic port and enhancement of the Amiga version with lots of expansions included and to follow.

Cafe Nippon - Kairosofts first retina game and bloody addictive. Has a really deep cooking system.

NOVA 3 - Think Halo

One Epic Knight - Bit like temple runner except its really funny and looks a bit like a PS2 game

I only played 1 but didn't get on with it, didn't see the point in paying out for 2.

I quite enjoyed 1, but 2 is pretty much just more grinding and a couple of moderate gameplay twists. Even the enemy types and attack patterns are largely the same.
