I want an iOS Animal Crossing

I think Happy Street will be as close as you ever get. It's probably nearer to Tiny Tower in gameplay, but it's iOS, what are you gonna do? Anything even remotely approaching Animal Crossing is gonna have IAPs! It also has minigames and stuff apparently. The look (and voices) definitely goes for that Animal Crossing vibe.

Out in Canada only at the moment, but worldwide soon.

Zombie Carnaval

It's an endless runner kind of like Grim Joggers and you infect more zombies and build up your horde as you run and jump the gaps. As you grow in numbers you can take down cars buses and tanks, It's good fun and has the one more go appeal that Jetpack Joyride has.

Also worth mentioning Grim Joggers if you haven't played that.

Plague Inc. is one very disturbing game.

This is the great thing about iOS (and Android, obviously), that somebody can make a comment like this - I look at the page, see it looks vaguely like the board game Pandemic and just pick it up for 69p.

I'll throw my voice into the chorus of people praising Kingdom Rush - it's fantastic. So much character.

So Ting Wings 2.0 is an update and not a new game:

http://toucharcade.c...r-ipad-version/

And they've launched a dedicated iPad version, that you have to buy separately. This is a very, very subtle difference from launching a new Tiny Wings, it has to be said. It's a great game, obviously, but they're stretching the truth a bit saying they're giving it away for free.

It does the F2P thing well too, making none of the items ridiculously expensive. I paid for the 2x cash thing as a token of appreciation.

Oh man...I've bought 10k coins on both iPhone and iPad, and the 2X coin as well! I'm such a sucker, but what a great little game!

Much easier on iPad, as you would expect. Really allows you to appreciate the art style too.

It's not much cop on my 3GS. Kinda hard to play and the graphics are horrible. I really need to upgrade. Plus I'm rubbish, one medal per level. Hah.

Tower Bloxx 3D is free at the moment. No Game Center, and it seems VERY forgiving of mistakes, but worth free.

Quite a few games in 'beta' on the Canadian appstore that should be incoming soon.

Happy Street - Another freemium style street builder. It's the same game you've played before but with an animal crossing art style and actual character. More Tiny Tower than Farmville. I'm sure I'll tire of this eventually but for the moment it's managed to get my attention. If anyone's playing add my GC - Teeohbee

RAD Soldiers - A Turn Based Strategy game with asynchronous multi player. Notable for the fact that it looks absolutely gorgeous and is made by Splash Damage, of Brink and Enemy Territory fame. Freemium model and I think only aesthetic costumes and stuff to buy with the IAP, although I think its possible to pay to speed up your levelling, not sure how that affects gameplay as I've only played one match so far. Online mostly but there are single-player challenges against AI which is nice!

So they should be incoming at some point.

Oh and not a game, AND available in the UK appstore is Recce.

It's a map app that renders London in 3D in the style of a sim-city game. Apparently the developers are looking into integrating gameplay somehow but for now it makes a lovely little tech demo!

There seem to be an abundance of TBS games coming at the moment, although I'm definitely not complaining.

Downloaded Outwitters a while ago but yet to open it up. I'll take a look at it tonight.

Pocket Heroes also came out a while ago. It's aim is to be an asynchronous multiplayer RPG that you play in co-op. Graphics look suitably retro but I'm not sure how it all works so haven't put down cash for that yet.
