How can I unlock the city courses (the third group) in Fairway Solitaire? :-(

I think theres a star requirement to unlock the next group of courses, but I've not idea what it might be as my ocd refuses to let me stop playing a course until I 3 star it (so the first course was unlocked as soon as I went through to it)

Sorted it. I think I managed to skip out of the cutscene at the end of the sixth course on the previous set so it didn't go through.

Say what you will about Tim Rogers, but he's made a good, addictive game. I'm already fostering a fair old Ziggurat habit. A frantic shooter that balances aim, timing, and assessing the advancing threats in a pretty satisfying way. Good explosions, & a touch controls which don't get in the way of what you're doing. You are at a fixed point on top of the ziggurat, and swipe along the bottom of the screen to arc your gun. Hold to charge; release to fire; kill alien freaks with your bouncing bombs.

This game is amazing. That is all.

Is anyone having trouble buying the full game of Fairway Solitaire? I try but keep being told to contact iTunes support.

As a test I bought a canvas in SWYS, but that went through fine.

Their loss is our gain!

I bought it fine, perhaps they're changing the price so it's locked at the moment.

Is that just a reskin of Jetpack Joyride?

Nah, looks like there are courses (see the bar at the top with a chequered flag on it?) and besides, Jetpack Joyride isn't even slightly original. It'll probably be quite similar, then again, a lot of endless runner games are.

Haha, it went through fine in the end. God knows what the problem was.

Still, buying a new canvas for SWYS is never a bad thing.

Looks more like a side scrolling shooter to me. I can see why you'd say that based on the coin screenshot, though!

Today's recommendation to pick up for free is Little Skywire. Don't get too excited by this comparison, but it reminds me of Kuru Kuru Kururin.

You have a little ski-lift type thing on a wire, and you have to press forwards or backwards to make it go, well, forwards or backwards. The controls are on either side of the screen and work perfectly. All you have to do is follow the course to the end, watching the enemy movement patterns and not getting hit by them. It's good.

Can anyone please recommend a turn based rpg? Prefably free, but it doesnt really matter if it costs me a few quid.

There aren't many good ones, certainly not for free. Crimson Gem Saga is still the best one for a price:quality ratio, after that you're looking at Square-Enix's stuff which is expensive. The cheap turn-based RPGs are cheap for a reason. They're ugly, unbalanced, contain no story, and are shit.

If you wait a few weeks/months, Cthulhu Saves the World will fill the cheap RPG void perfectly.

Lost City and Fairway Solitaire have renewed my faith in iOS gaming after not really liking anything in a long time. It really makes a difference when the game is perfectly suited to the device you are playing on.

It really does. Lost City and Grisly Manor work because the interface is so simple, and more importantly instant. I downloaded Drawn: The Painted Tower, which is an HD game for iPad, and although it's very similar to Lost City it just isn't as addictive because the interface is slower. Feels like it should be on a more powerful machine, and like it needs a mouse. Everything is just a bit too fiddly and small.

How are people progressing on Solitaire?

Thats me just reachedthe exclusive courses having three starred everything previous. Are there any new game mechanics to come for me? I seen someone mention a 52 card pick up which I havent seen yet.

I've just started the Famous Courses pack after three starring everything previous, I've not seen the 52 card pick up thing either yet.

Wow, you are motoring through! Do they get a lot harder?

Im still not overly settled on tactics yet with regard to using my irons. currently I just look for any long chains I could start by bringing them into play, and then towards the end of the game use them to dig my way out of trouble if I look like ending up with a rubbish score.
