Agreed, not a patch on Jetpack. I do hate tilt controls something fierce, though.

I'm not sure if it's the tilt controls that I'm finding off putting, there's just something about it that I don't like. The graphics are charmless and the game just hasn't grabbed me which for an iOS game is a very bad things as most of them are 5 minute diversions so if you can't find the fun in that first 5 minutes you wont be going back.

Whaaaat. BigPixel's art style is amazing. Although I guess OTL is a bit blander than Landa Panda and Meow Meow Happy Fight.

I agree that it starts far too slow though. And it's really excessively grindy most of the time in fact. (With Jetpack Joyride you're never playing many, many games to save up cash for a single mission.)

Maybe it's just me but if you compare the art style to something like Tappi Bear which is a similar style of cute simple graphics with bold outlines OTLs style seems charmless and more akin to a free flash game.

Like I said probably just me being weird.

i'm glad i didn't pay for Ghost Prick: Phantom Rejective. i went through that whole godawful tutorial, saved and exited, came back to it earlier today on the toilet only to discover it had "saved" right at the beginning of the tutorial. fuck off.

You have to ignore that screen that appears when you restart the game asking you to continue. If you skip it and go to the main menu, the continue button there will take you to the point you saved at. You should still be able to do that now.

It's really messed up. iCloud saving is fucked as well.

that actually worked. thank you! i'm surprised that hasn't been patched because i wouldn't have bothered going through it again; i'd have just deleted the app in a day or two.

My save file was fucked as well for some reason. I was quie enjoying it, but the whole begining is so slow and drawn out there is no way I am going through that shit again.

My gf and I played through Grisly Manor over the course of our commute home the other night, and really enjoyed it. It's gentle enough stuff, but you can get a little bit stuck here and there. Thanks to whoever recommended it.

Anyway, paid 69p for the Lost City which is the sequel, and it's even better. Lots of nice, gentle exploration, and a constant supply of puzzles. Recommended.
