EA just updated Dead Space. What's interesting about this isn't the alleged performance increases, but the way they've stuck an "Origin" button onto every screen that clashes with the normal colour scheme, appears before the other interface elements have faded in, and genuinely seems to be a half-assed attempt to get people interested in the service.

Oh, and there's Game Centre support, but there are no leaderboards or achievements. Even though the game already has non-game-centre achievements.

Splishi Splashi is free. Endless game where you slide your finger up/down to make a fish swim up or down, obvs. Collect blue coins for speed, green for stamina, and yellow for points, trying to stay ahead of a predator the whole time.

You can jump out of the water to collect better stuff sometimes too. Gets pretty tense when you're about to be eaten!

GTA III is superb, there are control issues and I'm not sure I'll ever finish it as I recall it getting pretty tricky later on in the game (are cheats included in this) but my word it's worth the £2.99 just for driving round and listening to the radio stations, plus showing people that you have the whole GTA III on your phone and watching their heads asplode!

It's less than the cost of a pint for GTA III on your iPhone, I'm not sure there has been a better deal in the history of ever.

Yeah, so far I've come up with creative solutions as much as possible to avoid shooting (like pre-rigging a target's getaway vehicle with a bomb from 8Balls) but have a feeling it's going to be a problem later. But they've introduced two new things which massively help the experience- instant re-tries of missions where you keep all your original armour and weapons- and also if you get wasted, you don't lose your weapons anymore. So while mission failure is a pain, it's not nearly as frustrating as it used to be.

Squaresoft are having a sale for 2 weeks.

I was thinking of getting Final Fantasy Tactics or Chaos Rings for my journey home at Christmas - which one would people most recommend? I've played a bit of Tactics on the GBA (though I know this is a different game) but I don't know anything about Chaos Rings.
