I don't have any use for it whatsoever, but just knowing I can change the placement of virtual buttons in GTA3 is somehow really comforting.

Did this become a standard thing across iOS games without me noticing?

Not really a standard thing, but quite a few games do it, yes.

I have to confess that I am pretty gobsmacked to be able to play Grand Theft Auto 3 on my phone; I wouldn’t have thought I’d be doing that ten years ago. It controls surprisingly well too, considering it’s jammed most of the controls onto a touchscreen. You can tell its pushing the 4 pretty hard – is it any smoother on a 4S?

The fact that GTA3 runs so well raises the question of whether they’re going to port Rockstar’s other games of that era, like Manhunt, Bully, and The Warriors. Manhunt on the move! Awesome.

iPad 2 for xmas !!

Wow lucky, you have a world of fun ahead of you.

Get Carcassonne (my username is gospvg on gamecenter), Pirates & Civilization Revolution.

also get Appshopper great for finding out when apps are reduced on sale.

I'll have a look into these! Ta for the tip. I've got to set up my gamecenter thingy but expect an invite from Yinnyboy soon.

I think the framerate was always ok with GTA3. What I do love is the fact that if you fail a mission you get an instant re-try option, with all your armour, guns and health intact as it was when you started the mission. Great little addition and really cuts down on the frustration factor.
