Well initially I thought I could play it like Espgaluda where you don't actually have to cover up the screen and can slide your finger around below without ever having to lift it. That obviously can't work where it's direct control, but holding my finger on the ship itself just seemed a bit rubbish. I'll give it another shot.

I definitely prefer the Cave solution.

"Like" Facebook app claiming to be from Apple for free app?

Spider-sense tingling... something's going on here!

Edit- Not mentioned on the official App Store twitter feed.

Edit2- Looks totally legit, though. I guess I'm just wary of everything on Facebook.

bollocks. real racing 2 hd was 69p for a while yesterday :( real racing 1 hd is still apparently 69p :)

Yeah I noticed that I'd missed it at 69p but I've still picked it up at £1.49, going by its regular price, its still a bargain. Its actually cheaper than the iPhone version at the moment too!

I'm confused. Hypership controls EXACTLY the same way Espgaluda does.

You can put your finger below the ship, it doesn't have to be *on* the ship. I have no idea how you're playing this but it works well and is simple in my experience. I think we need a diagram.

It doesn't. In Espgaluda or Dodonpachi - move to ship to the very left of the screen, hold your finger over it then drag it to the right. Which one reaches the right hand side first?

It's subtle, but I find it makes a big difference.

I play Hypership as though there is no ship, I'm just using my finger to dodge and collect stuff.

Just delete the facebook app, after you get the game. That's what I did.

Yeah it's whatever you're comfortable with. Not liking it is different from having a problem with the controls. I don't see how they could be better really.

By making it more like the Cave games. Game plays in a smaller window (with user settings for the size) to give you blank space to control from without obscuring any of the screen, ships movement slightly exaggerated from finger movement so smaller movement is required to move around the entire screen.

But, you know, you guys all like it and Pocket Gamer gave it their illustrious Gold Award so it doesn't really matter.

put your finger in front of the ship and drag bck

So you have to lift your finger from the screen and lost control momentarily?

So it's just a screen size issue?

Fair enough. An option to shrink the screen would be welcome. I haven't felt the need to hang right at the bottom of the screen thus far, but it would probably be advantageous. I'm happy to accept it as a minor limitation, personally. Everyone else has the same barrier when reaching for those high scores.
