So I have Scribblenauts for the ipad, and love it. Sunk quite a few hours into it. I just downloaded it for my iphone

If I have it set to sync scribblenauts to the cloud, and it's set to sync on my iphone as well, does that store my save games on the cloud? So I can continue my game from either device?

That's the idea, you'll have to let us know how well it works.

You had a hole in one yet Syntax? I came this close the other day.

Nope, I havent even managed to chip in yet. I did get my first eagle today though and shamelessly posted it to facebook!

I love the mechanic, I just hope that the slow build of your character eventually begins to speed up as you get better in tournies.

I seem to spend all my cash entering PGA and never gettting a chance to upgrade my guy.

Is Bike Baron really as flagrant and unimaginitive a Trials rip off as it appears to be? There's no way I'm supporting that, what a bunch of cunts.

Cant see how its any more of a rip off than say Trials is of Kickstart?

I've not chipped in yet either, but I'm going to do so soon, I can feel it.

I concentrated on St. Andrews at first, but have moved onto the other courses and the odd PGA. As you say though, bit of a money-pit unless you win.

Yeah, I haven’t got in the money yet in a PGA. In the second round of my last tournament I had a horrible back 9 and had 3 bogeys and then on the 18th I scored a walloping 10!!! Way to crumble with the finish line in sight!

Im going to adjust my approach though. Im going to concentrate on getting my handicap down by just playing normal rounds (you seem to rack up decent money doing that) and then when I have about £60k Im going to spend half of that on my stats and then the other half will get me entered into the next PGA where hopefully I can get in the money!

As for hole in one I got about 2 inches away on the daily closes to the pin challenge before, but that doesn’t really count I suppose. The holes definitely aren’t as magnetic as other golf games I have played. Im not even sure the pin registers contact as the ball has always just flown over it for me whenever I have been close.

On Tiger Woods, I noticed that you get 100points for getting onto the green, but an extra 400 for being close to the pin when you land on the green. So often you're better off, even when you're within range of the pin, leaving it just shy of the green and pitching/chipping it upto the flag for extra points.

guys, i've been researching this but the criteria for a "great" iphone game seems very generous on the web. what are regarded as the best iphone games ever? i have Angry Birds. i like things like that, that use the touchscreen in a natural way. i didn't like Real Racing for this reason; the controls felt like a contrived compromise and i just couldn't get into it because of that.

cheers.

It's universally agreed that Tilt To Live is the best iOS game ever.

The thing with iOS games is, barring a few notable exceptions, if they require you to touch the screen once the game has started they are mostly jank.

Is it really that bad? I was looking forward to Mage Gauntlet.

It's just boring, nothing compelled me to go back and play it again after the half an hour or so I spent playing it on the bus yesterday.

But, you know, some people are saying things like "I'll be straightforward on this one: Mage Gauntlet is one of the best iOS games of the year", so maybe you'll enjoy it.

Drop 7 is the new Tetris. At first you'll be all "what is this shit?!" Then it clicks, and becomes one of the most addictive puzzle games ever made. It punctuated my toilet sessions for a good six months.

There's a free, ad-supported version on the store too, so you can try before you buy.

Truth be told, I've been a little disappointed with iPhone games. I got rid of my handhelds before I bought the phone, and true enough, I don't know if I could have been bothered to lug my PSP around along with a smartphone anyway - but of all the games I've played (must be approaching 50-60 now) the only one to grab my attention long enough for me to be happy to pay for (or haven't felt like I've wasted money on) is still Ascension: Chronicle of the Godslayer. I've tried Kard Combat and Shadow Era, and whilst the latter seems quite deep, the actual app itself lacks the usability and polish of Ascension. Even some of the titles like Pocket RPG, which seemed quite good on the surface, got pretty dull within a short period - and I've come to realise that whilst I will at times just work with them, I really dislike onscreen pads and buttons - even in the games most people say do them very well. I can just about get along with the "slide pad" in Sega Racing, but in particular, the iPhone version of Final Fight is practically unplayable, despite being an amazing conversion in every other respect.

Admittedly, a few of the titles I've bought have been about 60p - and I suppose one way of looking at it is "did I get as much enjoyment out of this as I would from a king size Snickers bar?" - and I guess the answer to that is usually "yes" - but I think I've just grown bored of "disposable gaming" on the iPhone in a way that I never seemed to in the arcades.

I did want to get Final Fantasy Tactics, but then I heard you can't save mid-battle - is this true?

If you head back to page 500 (or 250 depending on settings), there's a bunch of people doing a top ten of all time. Worth a read.

wicked. thanks for other recommendations; i'm googling them. i downloaded Scribblenauts which is alright but a lot more limited than i hoped. half of my adjectives don't seem to affect the creations and their interaction is unpredictable.

oh, i love Tiny Tower. i didn't expect to because it's quite tricky to control and the UI doesn't seem designed for iPhone, but i'm quite addicted to it.
