Aw, so close! Looks great, even zoomed on the iPad. Option for L/R on either side of the screen with auto accelerate. But the cars don't drift around the corners in that pleasing way they do in SPR, they're glued to the track. Feels all wrong, and makes the game incredibly easy to boot.

At least it was free. Vacancy still open for decent top-down racer!

Meh. Every game has drifting, refreshing to play an old-fashioned one that's more about steering again. It is a bit easy until the later stages, though.

Think of it as a strategy Roguelike and roll with it.

Yeah that's what I'm doing and I am enjoying it, its not like anything I've ever played.

Part of me wishes there was a little more information on stats screens to let me know what effect my decisions are actually having, or make it clearer. I understand however that would ruin the illusion of it all, which I love.

I also feel like I'm not playing it right when passing the seasons, not sure what I should be doing each "turn".

At the moment I feel like I'm enjoying the ride but not in control of it!

Can't wait to read through my saga!

I don't mind if it's fairly "normal" racing, but the cars don't handle in a satisfying way. Even if you don't drift round every corner, you should at least be able to make them skid a bit!

I tried Sideways Racing, but can't remember what my problem with it was. Controls probably. Will re-download and remind myself.

:eyebrows:

Sideways Racing, ah yes I remember now. The opposite problem, the cars skid to a halt at the tiniest attempt to steer sharply.

Super Photon Racing already has the handling nailed, but it's got such a limited number of tracks. Just a sequel to that would do me please!

Edit: Holy shit, stumbled across a Drift Mania vid on Wii Ware. That on the iPad please!

Sorry, slightly off topic I suppose.

Developer M2 has been given permission by the licence holders and is currently developing four of the games for iPad release.

The four games currently in development are Twin Cobra (Kyukyoku Tiger), Truxton (Tatsujin"Expert"), Truxton II (Tatujin O "Expert King") and Sky Shark (dubbed Flying Shark in Europe).

President of M2, Hoshii stated that he would consider making more games if these proved popular, as well as bringing these four to other platforms.

Apparently, though, there are various issues converting the games from their old formats, especially with regards to perfecting the control scheme, so it may be a while before they're released.

If anyone likes [adult swim] and/or slightly mental, fast-paced puzzle games, might I recommend investigating Monsters Ate My Condo?

(No real gameplay footage, but gives you an idea of the tone, which some will love and I can imagine some hating)

(The reviewer is pretty terrible at it, but based on the guide popping up as he goes it must be his first attempt, to be fair :D).

It's another variation of the match-three genre with a lot of the best elements of Shibuya (another of my favourites), a little bit of Topple, some interesting new twists and high-score conditions and a fair bit of polish and character.

Currently going for 69p, and I'm loving it.

Have you played Reckless Racing? That's pretty good! It feels bit like Super Skidmarks on the Amiga.

Yeah. It's alright. Bit slow and sludgy feeling though. Nice GFX.

Reckless is a funny one, I downloaded it, played the first track a couple of times and wrote it off as a poor game. It sat there on my phone and then it got good reviews(Edge gave it a good score?) and then K put in a good word for it and I decided to go back to it. I have since started to get sucked in and began to enjoy it, I think it just took a while to get how the tracks worked and controlling the cars.

Admittedly I still haven't played it enough to be recommending it to anyone but I definitely started to see the potential, will go back to it at some point.

I wanna blow some cash on a few games too. Just wanna stock my phone up. I'm considering Drawrace 2, Groove Coaster, anomaly warzone, and I'd like one of those 'story' games but not sure which is best. grandPrix maybe?

Any suggestions of newish stuff more than welcome :)
