I'm positive this is deliberate because you'd utterly rip the board apart going first - it is very annoying and blatantly obvious. This game needs proper multiplayer so bad it hurts.

Pity to see such low numbers on the leaderboards.

Multi could be good, but I'm guessing it would be quitter central if you played randoms.

‘Grand Prix Story’ By Kairosoft Releasing September 8th

Had it since it released in the Japanese AppStore (english language included, however it crashes unless you switch the currency to Yen.)

Best 'Story game since Game Dev. I loved Mega Mall Story, but you reached a point where the game literally became impossible to lose which was pretty crap. This however is genuinely quite tough at times (made evident by the fact that the first time I played it I ended up thinking "fuck... my car is pretty awful, I'll scrap it for research data and build a better one!" Only to realise that I didn't even have enough money to start production on a new car, thus I had to restart the entire game again.) The latter opponents are quite tough and you end up having to adapt aspects of your car/use different cars entirely, depending on what course it is you'll be racing on. Plus the game keeps chucking things at you, and the rare equipment you unlock with the different sponsors adds a lot to the entire game.

Oozes charm and has minimal micromanagement, all in all, brilliant.

EDIT: Can some mod knock out whatever it is that is requesting Java permissions on this page? Pretty sure its Cornfield87's post. Sending my browser completely mental.

It might play well, but it looks like if you took Advance Wars and wrung out all of its visual charm.

To be honest nothing will match Advance Wars but Advance Wars itself :)

Anyone tried FIFA Superstars? As far as I've gathered, it's the facebook version of ultimate team, but I cannot get it to work on my phone, just get cannot connect to game server messages.

By EA game standards that seems to be working perfectly.

It got edged out by Time Geeks on the grounds of the latter being all free and having replay value through its minigames and whatnot, but I've edited in a mention for SWYS too, because it IS spiffy.

Fair enough, Time Geeks is pretty good. Thanks for the mention.

I'm also amazed to see Arachnadoodle in there, a game we did when I was at Connect2Media (although I wasn't involved). None of the iOS stuff we did there made any impact at all so it's good to see it mentioned.

Nice list lad. I'll definitely be picking more than a few of them up. I still haven't even for Mech Wars despite my love of all things Advsnce Wars and turn based. Which brings me to one minor gripe; no Hunters? One of the best on the market right now.

Just picked up Rainbow Six, Zombie Infection and the Sports Pack. Really shouldn't be buying any more Iphone games when I have so many I've yet to play, but couldn't pass them up for that price.

Now just need to find something to delete to free up some space on my phone.

DrawRace 2 by RedLynx (also on iPad as DR2 HD) is immense. Wrote 500 words for Pocket Gamer if you fancy a read. I won't link, as I know that bothers some people - those interested can find it easily enough. :)

I'm bothered by having to type letters into my address bar, and then having to type even more letters in the form of this post to complain about it!

Cheers to those who recommended Jetpack Joyride, it's brilliant. :)

Also, I don't venture into the App thread (is there one?) so I'd like to take this space to recommend Dolpin Browser, which is a better browser than Safari and Opera and is free. Proper fullscreen browsing!

Also bought Tiny Invaders today, the first game from Hogrocket, those 3 blokes (including Stephen Cakebread, creator of Geometry Wars) who rose from the ashes of Bizarre Creations. Haven't tried it yet but it's got good reviews so far, and I put my trust into those guys.

Tiny Invaders isn't great, unfortunately. Polished and all, but it has two glaring flaws. One of them might be down to personal preference - the score approach they've chosen may prove divisive, but the other one's such an obvious and easily avoided issue that I'd be surprised if they didn't patch it, as I'm sure they'll get feedback about it.
