Edge Extended is out, £0.69 and it's a new app rather than an update. Looks like the new levels are the ones from the PC/Mac version, but the real attraction is a new engine that looks a hell of a lot better than the retina update of the original game. 60fps and pin-sharp.

Thought I'd post in here to confess something.

I've been playing Let's Golf 3 since it was released and I've been really enjoying it!

I haven't spent any money as I'm totally against all that but you get 5 goes a day plus one for leveling up and one if you get an eagle I think and that's proven to just be enough to satisfy how often I fancy a go.

I'm now upto level 30 and bought one of the major upgrade outfits from just the prize money you get from playing the holes and challenges.

At some point the number of goes went up to 6 so I think at somepoint it may go upto 7 so I'd be able to do a 9hole challenge or online game. We shall see.

In terms of the game, usual golf affair although it's a bit rough around the edges, sometimes the game stutters as most titles seem to do occasionally on iOS devices which is really annoying when you're trying to time a swing but other than that I'm enjoying playing through it, on the 5th out of the 6 courses so far.

Sounds like a huge amount of effort just to play half a round of pitch n putt.

Does anyone know the name of this iphone game. I think its an RPG where your a shop keeper. It has a strange name, like Ranseleer, or something?

Got this yesterday; what a mess. It seems a little jerky (even on the iPhone 4), the music/sound are distorted and the controls are hideous. At 60p, maybe worth a quick go - but I doubt I'll play it much.

Yeah, imagine Monkey Island but with Gene Hunt from Life On Mars as the main character.

It's very, very funny, I've only played it for about half an hour and it's cracked me up a few times, definitely woth 69 pennies.

After being initially impressed I went off Hector: Badge of Carnage quite rapidly, and never finished it.

From earlier in this thread:

The humour is very crass. For some reason this comes across less when you turn the sound off. The voice acting is pretty awful actually, lots of badly done street yoofs, and a main character that sounds like Ray Winstone or someone, only worse.

The puzzles are good enough though*, and it all works great. Just not sure I would want to spend all that long in Hector's world. Certainly not with the sound on.

Sample puzzle: Put coffee in empty whisky bottle, give to tramp to sober him up, he leaves breath freshener behind, give to fat prostitute with bad breath so she can secure a client, pinch her garter while she is shagging in an alleyway, use garter as fanbelt to fix car

So why doesn't each round of Quarrel just start with all players getting the anagram and being given a chance at scoring with the highest going first? Given how important going first is in the game it's strange that it's decided randomly.

I mentioned that earlier. seems a bit of a flaw as in a 4 player game by the time it gets round to your go you can be almost wiped out thru no rela fault of your own, hard to constantly defend whilst 1 or 2 letters down.

Has anyone played the Wesley Snipes game, Julius Styles: The International?

It looks hilarious and not in a good way. This part of it's description on the app store made me laugh too - "Number 1 Adventure Game In Finland!"

The whole description is in fact genius:

EDIT - I cant help reading it as Julia Stiles: The International. Now THAT would be a game I would buy.

It's amazing isn't it?

Now i just wish that more iphone specific games would be compatible. I downloaded Sideways Racing which is compatible and quite enjoyable, but I wish games like SF4 Volt would jump on the bandwagon as well.

Let's hope this trend becomes the norm.

Not a case, it's a sticker. I bought one 2+ years back in Shanghai for my 3GS. In fact the one in the pic is a 3G/3GS.
