No. Although it plays better that way I feel. You can just dip in and out of a game in progress over a few sessions instead.

That's good. I much prefer asynchronous. It looks like your friends have to be online with game center to send them an invite though. My friend has no net connection at the moment but I can't even send him an invite for when he gets somewhere with access.

Loving the game though. It feels very mellow and subtle compared to something like Kard Combat. Really nice art on the cards too.

These icades are lovely looking and all, but where is the appeal? Running out and buying an ipad and the icade to play puzzle bobble? Would you not be cheaper just buying a good arcade stick and playing it at your PC? Its not like you could unleash that thing on the train or something?

Dunno. It just feels right playing this stuff in a cab :) Why do people go to the effort of building a full sized cab if they could just buy an arcade stick and sit in front of their PC?

Yup. Just linked mine up to MAME. Works superbly.

I can't get Rainbow Islands working though. BOO HOO.

If you've downloaded the rom pack from the yarrr repo Rainbow Islands doesn't work. The copy I have from a 0.37b romset work fine.

Yeah, got it working now. Fudged together, renamed etc some files from the rainbow islands roms on my old xbox.

Loving the wiimote hook up.

I was really disappointed by the iPhone version, it's all a bit too fiddly an annoying when things get a bit more complex. It'd probably work a lot better on iPad.

I totally agree. I wanted to like it, and it looks and sounds lovely, but it's not really much fun to play.

Ascension seems really good, just got it. One thing though; you get the option to play all your cards - why would you ever not want to? I assume there's a reason or it wouldn't ask.

It's very very rare you wouldn't play them all (perhaps only if you had pulled all non-commons and had one that forces a banish) but the difference is in the order you play them in, that can be important rather than just spaffing them all up in one go.

Is there no 'unlimited credits' IAP?

Nope.

£34.99 will buy you $1,400, which equates to 1,640 energy points/'plays'. I actually have no idea how long that will really last - it's about 90 rounds and I'm not sure how many I've played on Let's Golf 2 but I imagine it would definitely approach that figure.

Ignoring the awful Freemium implementation in this game, it also runs like absolute shit on my iPhone 4.

Have they really removed Let's Golf 1 & 2? If so that's just shameful, I'd heartily recommend them (2 especially) over this latest offering.

You're not alone there, it runs like absolute shit on my iPad 2, a truly terrible game.

Are any of the football management games on the iPhone worth picking up? The main ones seem to be Football Manager, Champ Manager and Manage Your Football Club. Any others worth mentioning?

Football Manager is good, pretty full featured (though obviously nowhere near as comprehensive as the PC verison). I've only heard bad things about Champs (crashing etc), not tried the other one. You just missed a sale on the 2011 version, might be worth checking toucharcade to see if they've said anything out the new version as one of the devs posts in the thread in their forums.

^Thanks but having problem with imame4all loading roms, I copy the X-men zip file to the location but it can never seem to find it?.

Have you checked the compatability list to make sure it works with 0.37 MAME?

Footy Man. Don't bother with the others.

Remember to close the app with the double tap on the homebutton (or SBSettings). I noticed that it only refreshes the romlist when the app has been completely closed and restarted.
