played a little bit off FFT.. total newbie to it.

They've done a good job of the touch screen controls, game looks nice and can see myself getting along nicely with it.

slightly confused about what is actually happening... cut-scenes show "someone" riding in on a chocobo and kidnapping a princess and you're two characters say something about him "being back" and "being aligned" with some bad dude, then I'm charged with defending the castle back home... that sound about right?

Anyone tried FFT on the ipad using retinapad?

Also i've never played any of the Final Fantasy games before, so i guess the main question is will i be missing something by not playing the others and will i find it impossible to just pick up and run with it?

FFT is a turn based strategy RPG as opposed to the main canon which is a straight forward JRPG and they play pretty much totally differently. All they have in common is characters and settings. You're not missing out on anything by not playing them.

Mmmm. So I defeated the first level of enemies. Good stuff. As I understand it, they were some of the corpse brigands or something. Now it's left me on the over world.

I've got an old unused iPhone 3G that I'm considering lending to my brother so that he can catch up on some of the iPhone games he's missed being out of the country and smart-phone less.

Obviously this is now 2 generations (nearing 3) behind and so it's not going to be running any new games any time soon and so was wondering if you guys had any recommendations for games that would run.

He's really into his shmups (i'm guessing the cave games are out of the question?) but is there anything else that might run well in that genre that's worth checking out?

Yeah iPhone 4.

It was an odd game too. I was sneaking a game in work and halfway through I had to pause it to speak with a colleague. So not exactly in the zone.

It all got a bit mental around the front of my bunker from 700 onwards, just fire fighting really. I got a bit of luck that no survivors tried to get in until the very end. Although my screenshot is a little odd, I thought I got game over due to killing 3 humans, which the screenshot states, but it also says the reason for failure was due to Zombie entering the gate. Maybe both things happened at the same time?

My scores have started to go up since realising that you can take out the big monsters with a full clip from the gatling gun.

EDIT: I couldn't add you on gamecentre either davros, think I need your nickname or you registered email. I hate the way it shows real names rather than nicknames - I don't know who anyone is!

Yeah, the presence of civilians in the melee is often what ruins a score.

Gatling gun for the bigguns every time, then switch to the howitzer and clear the area, assuming no civvies present.

I can't wait to see if they update and develop the game a bit more. I would love different arenas with a more varied topography.

Edit: I wouldn't worry, I don't look at the Game Centre anyway. I find the pop ups relating to it really annoying actually. "Couldn't connect to Game Centre". Fuck off!
