Just purchased NFS: Shift, been waiting quite some time to try it out

This could be EA testing the waters for low priced games. If it's successful and they make a killing over the next 48 hours, it might mean we see lower priced EA titles across the board...

How good is the SimCity on iPhone? I know it's basically 2000, but I am curious about moving items around and building - is it finicky with fingers?

It's based on 3000.

I think the interface is great and works well, but I'm possibly in the minority.

First time i've been in this thread. Could someone maybe suggest to me some of the best games? or maybe direct me to where someone else has undoubtedly asked this before?

I bought super monkey ball AGES ago, then cracked my iphone's screen, so pretty muchg didnt't bother with games or any decent apps since then. I got it replaced not too long ago but have only just got round to investigating what I might have missed.

Lots of recommendations scattered around this thread, but here's some stuff I like -

All good, I'd also add Orbital, Canabalt, Super QuickHook and Plants vs Zombies.

NFS Undercover is amazing, reminds me of Underground on the PSP, really great game. I bought them both and Undercover was definitely more my thing; 59p well spent.

Yeah, I bought Undercover a while ago and it's a really great game. Works brilliantly, especially the swipe controls. A steal for 59p.

there literally thousands of games you have missed and I have no idea what sort of game you like soooooo here are some of my faves

Angry Birds (superb physics based puzzler) 59p

Flight Control (air traffice control made simple but frenetic) 59p

iBlast Moki (blow up things to push other things to exits...) free I think

Super Turbo Action Pig (avoid the nasty butcher as you fly through the air)

Canabalt (run and jump to avoid a big drop) 1.79

HELLKid - free fast hookchamp type derivative

Hookchamp + Sequel - more hooking and speedy exits

Shift - immensly inventive platformer for FREE

Lets Golf - Everybodys gold really but on iphone...

linklines - good puzzler

Mr Aaaahhh lite - simple swinging game

Onestroke - funy name for polarium clone

Pacman CE or Pacman (i prefer the latter)

Tilt to live

Those above are simpler fare for quick games with little though or one button these are more indepth

iChess

iGammon

Rockband (I liked it!)

Plants vx Zombies

Scrabble

Real Racing

Secret of Monkey Island

Phoenix Wright

Geometry Wars

soosiz

Space invaders infinity gene

Wolfenstein RPG

DOOM

GTA CW

thats quite a list but all are fun and it depend on genre you like etc... lots are free or 59p (I am cheapskate) and load of others have lite versions.

Also maybe snaffle up some of the EA 59p specials on previous page cos lots of those are "good"

While looking through all the EA stuff thanks to their sale, I noticed they have Pandemonium. Not part of the sale, I think, but still only €1.59. Never got around to this back in the day, and I believe it was supposed to be good. But the question is, is the iPhone port good? There's no reviews for it in the store.

I think it works - it's certainly not unplayable from what I remember - but I'm not sure if it works well.

I've always played console or handheld versions of Sim City, though, so I'm used to cackhanded Sim City. This seems fine. Never had a problem and I've played it a lot.

Ridge has an update - 4 new tracks (well, 2) and new cars.

I hated it on iPhone at first, due to the initial release, but with the touch controls and they've added free content, it's proper Ridge again.

Needs online times though.

I think it's more to do with getting the games to the top of the charts ready for when iPhone 4 drops.

I purchased NFS: Shift and C&C Red Alert. I've only played Shift so far, and it's aces. It looks and plays great.

What the fuck is up with Dragon's Lair?!

Playing the tutorial, and it's asking me to press the SWORD icon. What icon? THERE ARE NO ICONS!!!

The controls seem to be missing/invisible obviously making the game impossible. There's no controls overlay or HUD on the screen. What the fuck?!

EDIT: Oh it's a iOS4 problem - EA shitsuckers.

Espgaluda 2 has literally transformed my commute. Such a fantastic fucking thing to have on the iPhone.

Along with Puzzle Bobble, it's probably my favourite iPhone game so far. NFS: Undercover is coming in a close second though at the moment.

Farmville has hit New Zealand.

It will be out here at midnight.

TO THE BOMB SHELTERS, PEOPLE, NOW!

FLEE!
