This is what I've been working on for the last few months and hope to have it finished in time for the F1 season next weekend.

The trial allows you to try a Quick Race in either Australia, Malaysia or China. The final version will contain all 17 F1 tracks and a full career mode, similar to the New Star Soccer games.

Full Version out now:

I'll release the Mac version shortly after the PC version.

Sigourney, what version of Windows are you using? And was it just the engine noises that went high pitched or all sound effects?

csuzw, I didn't realise that I'd put a limit on the resolution. I should be able remove that for the final version. :(

That was fun - abeit that 'Easy' isn't all that - well - easy :(

On hard, a mid-grid start in China pushed my damage upto 'full' before I'd left the Grid too - leaving me a whole lap to trail into the pits - bummer...

I pulled the camera right out and there's a bit of stutter/shimmer on the 'tiles' - my PC isn't stellar tho (P4 3.8HT, 8600GT) - the game felt more fun with the camera out that far tho...

Hmm, that's weird. Can you check the Settings.ini folder in My Documents/New Star Grand Prix/Settings (not the one in the game folder). Change the debugmode to =1 and then check the log file that gets created in the game folder. Thanks.

Changed as you said but it didnt create a log file in the game folder unless I'm missing something obvious. Running Windows Vista here with an ATI Radeon x1300 if thats any help. Ive tried it in various compatibility modes but it still wont run.

Crashes when I want to go full-screen, tried to set debug=1 but don't get a log-file anywhere...

New Star Grand Prix.exe, version 0.0.0.0, timestamp 0x49c4e64d, module with error ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6001.18000, timestamp 0x4791a7a6, exceptioncode 0xc0000005, errormarge 0x0003d041, process-id 0x1fdc, timestamp of application 0x01c9aa4e0fa125c0.

Windows Vista, 32-bit, Core 2 Quad - don't have a dedicated graphics card, though, it runs fine in windowed mode :(

Vista 64bit. Sounds like all sound effects. During crashes and when bumping into stuff. Doesn't return to normal if I restart the game. Have to restart my PC.

One more potential problem was at a race in Malaysia. It was the last lap and I was coming dow to the last corner for an overtaking move for 3rd place. I slammed the brakes on and my car stopped completely and wouldn't go any further. It seemed like a mechanical failure. I didn't run out of fuel.

Also, 1920x1080 please ^_^

31secs on the first track.

One little thing I noticed, the hitboxes for the cars seems a bit too big, if you're passing very close to someone there's a collision even though you didn't actually touch.

A couple of little things that could improve things.

When lapping cars, they don't move out the way at all. I know it's not a sim, but there's no reaction at all.

And when crossing the finishing line, cars you've lapped should end their race too.

Really good though.
