Pete1990 1 - 2 Fry Crayola

Fry Crayola 0 - 4 Pete1990

Good games. You really didn't deserve to lose that first game, and I could have swore my second goal was offside. I was drubbed in the second - I couldn't handle the pace and got frustrated after a while. Oh well, I still landed three points.

(Petey) Benfica 1 - 2 Dortmund (Fry Crayola)

I didn't play well in these games, my players seemed to be missing the ball and playing the oddest passes.

Dortmund were playing well and creating loads of chances, again and again finding a way through the Benfica defense.

The deadlock was broken mid-way through the half when a shot rebounded off the post with the keeper beaten, it then hit a defender and rolls across the goal mouth only for a Dortmund player to get there first and tap it in.

Benfica created some chances towards the end of the half, but their task was made more difficult with a lovely passing move that carved open the Benfica defense and ended in a close range effort being slotted into the bottom corner (I suspected offside)

The second half was scrappy, with both players playing 'interesting' balls and putting their teams into trouble.

Benfica grabbed a goal back to make the score 2-1 with a lovely finish from Reyes.

In the 90th minute, Benfica hit the post from a Suazo shot from the edge of the box, the ball bounced down and was cleared before an attacker could get there.

(Fry Crayola) Dortmund 0 - 4 Benfica (Petey)

This game started off slow, with both sides testing the other's keeper and again there were dodgy passes to put the defenses under a lot of pressure.

Suazo grabbed an early goal for Benfica after a powerful run around the defense and slotted it in at the near post.

Benfica rode their luck a lot when defending, with most clearances seeming to go to Dortmund players, putting the team under more pressure. They saw out most attacks and their keeper played well to deny all chances that Dortmund got on goal.

A second goal came from Reyes when he beat the offside trap a placed it past the keeper.

Dortmund looked like they might be able to get back into the game with the amount of chances and attacks they had but they couldn't break through and get a clear site on goal.

The third goal came after a corner was half cleared and some slick passes opened up space inside the box for the ball to be placed past the keeper.

The final goal came in the second half when a defender dwelled on the ball for too long and let Reyes pressure and steal the ball to have a free run in on goal and make the score 4-0

Well played Fry, thought you were going to run away with that first game, luck was on your side in the first and mine in the second I would say, lots of balls seemed to be bouncing our way.

Good luck with the rest of your season.

Deco and I played last night....

Alshie (Stuttgart) 1 - 9 (Boro) Deco

Deco 6 - 3 Alshie

What can I say, game 1 was a complete disaster Deco scored early and I brought it back to 1-1. From then on it was like the bad old days at the start of the season with my defence seemingly away for a mid-season break. Alves and Tuncay were waltzing through the defence with ease. My defenders were all over the place and weren't winning anything in the air, Tuncay got 6 and I think 4 were headers. He also grabbed a sweet volley late on which would have graced any game.

Game 2 - modified the defence a bit, I usually sit quite deep but I thought this was giving Alves/Tuncay too much room so pushed the defence up. 1:20 on the clock 1-0 Boro. ^_^

Came back to 1-1 again and was determined to keep it tighter. This game was a lot tighter, I can't actually remember the exact order of goals but it sat at 3-2 for ages and I hit the post and had a few chances. Deco made it 4-2 and then I conceded a few more late on trying to push for a draw. Got a delightful consolation third deep into injury time with an angled lob over the boro keeper.

Two enjoyable games, I think Deco is probably the best I've played in the league in the final third, loads of quick passing that gets him clear of the defence regularly. Cheers for the games and nice chatting with you. Good luck with the rest of your games.

Result confermed.

First game went perfect. I was scoring all over the show and his defenders were a little off. The best goal was mentioned. The scissor kick volley. Loved it.

Second game was harder. His defence killed me. I had no free kicks though lol. Even though I was tripped kicked and threw. I came out with a 6-3 win.

Thanks for the games. Awsome chatting with you. Good luck for the rest of the season.

ginerling 1 - 3 rokforce

rokforce 2 - 1 gingerling

Another very controversial penalty decision cost gingerling points in the 2-1 match. The game seemed to be heading for a draw when with ten minutes to go the ref gave a penalty after he slid in to try and block a shot. Contact was minimal if there was any at all, and my player certainly didn't react to it. The other game was more one-sided with gingerling getting a late consolation.

Cheers for the games buddy. Sorry your luck with the refs is continuing. If it's any consolation my team Norwich have been the victims of such decisions all season and it looks like it's going to relegate them.

Fry 1 - 2 Deco

Deco 3 - 0 Fry

Looking at Deco's scores last night, I wasn't looking forward to this. I expected a walloping as he went on to take his 9th and 10th wins of the season, but the reality was different.

I opened the scoring in the first game after everyone fell over each other trying to get the ball and it fell to Kringe on the goal line. Best goal I've ever scored. :) What I didn't know is that that would prove to be my only shot of the game, as Deco took charge from there.

I thought I'd be pulled all over the pitch but although he had plenty of chances in the first game, it was a defensive mistake that gifted him the equaliser, with a stupid ball across my own box with my keeper well out of position leading to an easy goal. His winner came from an error too, but a forced one and by that stage there wasn't any doubt who deserved the win.

The second game was more open for Dortmund, but Weidenfeller kept them in it with an absolutely tremendous save with the score at 0-0 in the first half, scrambling across goal and diving to palm a goalbound strike behind for the corner. However, try as the defence might they just weren't able to keep the Boro strikers in check and the chances came and came again. In the end, 3-0 flattered me. I still had a few chances but nothing clear cut.

Cheers for the games, Deco.

Yeah results confirmed.

I thought my streak was over in the first game as he scored what was a weird and quite funny goal. But then he decided to pass through his own box and I leaped on that chance. The second of my goals were the same. I ran it all the way through and got tackled. But then I retreived the ball in the area and scored again.

The second game was where I got comfertable. I had plenty of chances but his keeper made some fantastic saves. I then leaped on a bunch of chances and scored.

Great games. Nice chatting with you. Good luck for the rest of the season.

ASM 5 - 1 Alshie

Alshie 5 - 0 ASM

More dropped points! Couldn't get into the first game at all. Had quite a few opportunities but couldn't take them. A quick double before half-time had Samp in the driving seat. Stuttgart pulled one back in the 2nd half and I though I might be back in it but ASM scored again almost immediately.

ASM's Sampdoria were good on the break and took their chances when they came. Fiddled with my formation a bit but left holes that ASM exploited with ease and to be honest he controlled the game for 90 minutes.

Second game was the complete opposite. I went at it from the kick off trying to keep the pressure on Sampdoria to prevent them getting at me on the break. Pulled a midfielder back to help the defence and it seemed to work. Stuttgart are weird, if I get an early goal they seem invincible but if they go behind they are just shit. Took the lead early on and never really looked back, ASM had chances but I think I bossed this one.

Two good games and probably fair to share the points, I was annoyed to lose the first but I suspect ASM was equally annoyed to lose the 2nd after his performance in game 1.

Good luck with the rest of your games.

Paddyo has been removed from the league.

All fixtures involving him have been struck from the record as he'd not reached the half-way point.

I beat him, or rather his son, 5-0.

Is it another one gone for not organising fixtures?

EDIT: Just checked back on the thread and I see now.

By the way, gingerling could you confirm our scores please.

(Petey) Benfica 2 - 0 Sampdoria (ASM)

This game was a tight affair, both teams playing some nice football and creating chances. I thought Sampdoria were unlucky not to get at least a goal in this one.

2 nice passing moves allowed Benfica to break in one-on-one twice and the finishing was clinical to take a 2-0 win.

(ASM) Sampdoria 1 - 6 Benfica (Petey)

Sampdoria took an early lead in this match, with a nice through ball and the striker skipped past the last man and slotted it in the corner.

From here on Benfica came flying out of the traps, and every chance I hit seemed to hit the back of the net.

At 3-1, Sampdoria took the advantage and applied constant pressure to the Benfica goal, but they couldn't convert their pressure into a much needed goal.

The last 10 minutes saw 3 more goals for Benfica, who seemed to be strolling through the Sampdoria defense and scoring at will. The last goal came in the 90+ minute to make the score a rounded 6, with Suazo scoring 5.

Unlucky ASM, from your performances in both games you deserved to score a few more goals, so many close chances.

Deserved at least a point from those two games, I was very fortunate at times.

Good luck in the final run-in

2 huge games for 2 struggling teams tonight.

Marseille(Yiggy) 2 - 0 Toulouse(Skaj)

Much closer than the scoreline suggests. Both teams had good possession but it was Kone for Marseille who stole the limelight bagging a goal in each half to secure a very tense win. Until that 2nd went in there was no way I was going to relax. Toulose hit the post twice including a spirited effort just before the final whistle but it was not to be their day.

Toulouse(Skaj) 1 - 2 Marseille(Yiggy)

In the return leg things were very tense again. This time it was Gignac for Toulouse who managed a lovely early goal but there was to be no settling down. Another goal was lashed in almost immediately by Marseille Talisman Niang to reset the scoreline. There were to be several more chances before half time but it was all evens after 45. Both teams knew that these were defining games for their survival this season and you could feel the tension. Only 3 minutes in it was Valbuena who broke free for Marseille down the right wing. He managed to whip a cross in which fell to the feet of Cheyrou who managed to lash it on the half volley into the corner of the home teams net. Despite some terrific support from their fans it was a tough final 40 minutes for Toulouse. They created just as many chances as Marseille and the final 15 minutes was a true battle of the midfield. When the final whistle went it was still 2-1 and Marseille had registered their first back to back wins since the opening games of the season. Toulouse knew they had given it their all and as the two managers shook hands at the end of the game there was nothing but admiration between the two. A fine bottle of St Emillion would be shared in the board room only hours later.

Thanks for the games dude. Good luck with the remainder of the season.

With 4 games left, 2 against the league leaders and 2 against the current tail ender its going to be an interesting push for the playoffs for me. I figure I need at least 6 points out of those to even have a chance of getting 6th spot. And of course results have to go my way.

I might have to gear up to beat the potential champion at this rate. LOLZ.

It's shaping up to be a tight finish at both ends. Deco looks to have won the league but if Rokforce can beat him he might just sneak over the line.

Obviously i'm hoping for a Rokforce collapse to keep my vain hopes of finishing second alive - go Team Yiggy you can beat him home and away!

Slotter 2 - 3 Fry

Fry 1 - 0 Slotter

Two fairly scrappy games with chances at either end, and lots of pinging balls in midfield. The first was real end to end stuff, Slotter taking the lead twice only to be pegged back and Dortmund going on the defensive when they finally made it 3-2. The chances didn't dry up, they just weren't taken.

In the second game, Frei scored a lovely chip after 12 minutes but it didn't change the game much. Slotter had some excellent chances and hit the post late on, whilst having another effort rightly chalked off for offside after the keeper parried to the striker's feet. At the other end both Frei and Blazszykowski went clean through but either nudged the ball wide or overran it into the keeper's arms.

Keeps up my hopes of promotion anyhow!

rokforce 3 - 1 Deco

Deco 1 - 1 rokforce

Two great matches between myself and Deco. So many chances in both games it was unbelievable. In the first one I think I just had the edge. Deco couldn't get his passing game going and three classy Baros finishes gave me the game. I wish he was that lethal every time he had a sight at goal. In the second match there was just chance after chance at both ends. Deco hit the woodwork at least three times, once when it looked easier for Alves to score. At the other end Brad Jones had the game of his life keeping out headers and a couple of one on ones. A draw was probably a fair result but it should have been 6-6. Cheers for the games Deco, I really enjoyed playing against you. Good to speak to you too.

Come on Webbinho, SkaJess, and Yiggy: I've proved he's not invincible, now take more points off him! :)

Well there goes my hopes of 2nd place, need to make sure I'm in the play-offs.! Well done rokforce, although if I remember rightly when we played you had the build up but not the finishing - looks like you've mastered both!

Some days I've got it, and then on others it falls apart. I'm quite good at getting in on goal but then it's all about when to push shoot or when to take the extra touch, I'm not always very good at that decision. Also, my 'when to use controlled shot, when to just smash it' balance is way off.

Stuttgart (Alshie) 2 -3 (Fry) Dortmund

Dortmund (Fry) 1 - 3 (Alshie) Stuutgart

Two close games after a couple of abortive starts in game one. Something was seriously wrong with my squads and the first 2 times we started game 1 I had only 10 men??

Eventually I did a full squad reset and that seemed to fix it. I started the resumed game well and scored early - unfortunately with an ineligible player who left Stuttgart some time ago! He was quickly subbed and hopefully the authorities will be lenient.

Dortmund then took control and equalised almost immediately, the game was very end to end and went to half time 2-2. The second half was quieter but Dortmund edged ahead and Stuttgart were unable to find a way back.

Game two was more of the same with both teams evenly matched, Stuttgart took a 2 goal lead through defensive blunders and should have capitalised more but were guilty of wasteful finishing. Dortmund fought to get back into the game but were also guilty of poor shooting.

They got hope in the 86th minute when it went 2-1 but Gomez popped up just after to finish it. 3-1.

Cheers for the games and chat, sorry about the nonsense at the start! Good luck with the rest of your games.

Ah, it was all worth it for that first game. Frei hitting the crossbar after a lovely passing move with a volley was the highlight of the non-scoring efforts, in my book. Deserved a goal! Before that you had your smash off the bar that I managed to get back and clear before you could capitalise on the rebound. End to end stuff, really.

Shame the winner had to be an own goal. :(

rokforce 3 - 0 ASM

ASM 1 - 2 rokforce

Two very enjoyable games - I always enjoy playing you ASM, including the UEFA Cup quarter final from last year where you beat me. I got a couple of lucky goals in there, and a couple that came at the end of nice passing moves. My keeper was awesome in both games which helped a lot too, and ASM's strikers couldn't find the target at all. I'm sure there was a couple of incidents that deserved special mention but I can't remember what they were. Ah yeah, thanks for not scoring when my keeper bowled it to your striker, you would have been well within your rights to.

Cheers for the games, and thanks for being flexible with times to play, I appreciate that. Good luck in the rest of the season.

Running down the wing and shooting :( , whatever next. Apologies for playing to my teams strengths! Through balls to Alves..............

Anyway, I was happy enough with the 3 points, thought both games were pretty even, probably due to the thumb.

I enjoyed both games and thats what its all about at the end of the day, so cheers for games. :(

Just for the record; 2nd game finished 4-3, I was 3-0 and 4-2 up and did have a good go a throwing it away late on.
