The yellow-black side of Istanbul got thrashed to their heaviest defeat of the season today by a physically strong Middlesborough side. Fenerbahce didn't take advantage of the chances they had, but it wouldn't have made any difference, just done less damage to the goal difference! A goalfest with some good goals, particulalrly a lobbed through ball that was volleyed home by 'boro.

CFTG Deco and hopefully you can give the others the same treatment :P

Can we have Syntax back? :wub:

Well that was shite

Lost 3-1 and 4-0 my team couldn't fucking put anything together, noone bothering to help out the attack the the defense running around like a bunch of cunts!

Deco's defense was good though, when I did get into the final third it stood strong.

I'll be glad to get rid of this Benfica side, ever since the UT update, they haven't played half as well as they did at the start of the season. Misplaced passes, giving it away too easily, missing the ball completely :wub: its all gone from for me

Well played Deco, you did score that cracker with Tuncay was a lovely goal. Mine wasn't so, bit of a defensive howler.

Alves just outdid me with his pace and finishing, although half the time there wasn't much to stop you, what with my defense just wondering about.

Two excellent games, nice and close with lots of chances at both ends. The 2nd game was very close, I just nipped in at the 89th minute and managed to grab all 6 points.

Really pleased with my recent league form, but I need to convert more of my chances. I'm getting a lot of one on ones, but not scoring very many.

Aye, agreed. Our games are always good :lol: I think there's only been one game where there was more than one goal in it, no scoreless draws for us!

6 Points Shoots Benfica Up the Table

(Gingerling) Palermo 0 - 2 Benfica (Petey)

The game kicked off and both sides looked feisty, creating early chances and testing both goalkeepers.

It was Benfica though who took the advantage with a goal midway through the half.

From here on it was all Palermo as they pummeled the Benfica goal, they just couldn't find the finish. A one-on-one and the shot was rushed a the keeper was able to make the save. That was Palermo's best chance.

Benfica then doubled their lead with an unfortunate own goal, where the keeper parried and it hit the defender in the face, an unfortunate way to concede.

Second half both sides were throwing everything at each other, Palermo created some fantastic football, but couldn't quite find that clinical finish that they needed.

Benfica continued to have chance after chance, hitting the bar and post a few times and seeing shots and headers fly past the post, but it finished 0-0.

(Petey) Benfica 3 - 1 Palermo (Gingerling)

This game started much the same way as the last with both sides creating early chances, but neither could find a goal.

Benfica took the lead when a mix-up between the keeper and defender meant the clearance wasn't made and Reyes was able to steal the ball and shoot into an empty net. An unfortunate way to concede.

Palermo then up'd their game and didn't give Benfica one sniff at goal, and created chance after chance, clearances kept flying back towards the Benfica goal. They got their reward towards the end of the half, when a long ball was taken down well by Micolli (I think) and he powered into the box and a cheeky chip over the keeper made the scores level.

The second half kicked off much like the first with both teams creating chances, but nothing clear-cut.

Then, out of nowhere, a penalty to Benfica appeared, seemed like the only person who saw it was the referee. (there was no replay, so couldn't even tell) I wasn't going to complain, so Reyes stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way to give Benfica the lead again.

Palermo again piled on the pressure to the Benfica goal, but everything was being cleaned up by the seemingly impenetrable back line.

Benfica then put the result out of reach of Palermo, when a run down the right wing and a pass inside was slotted home giving Benfica all 3 points.

Well played Gingerling, that second game you deserved a point (the real score was only 1-1, and what was that penalty for?!?!)

That was worth waiting for! Two friendlies basically. I dominated possession in both games but there was a complete lack of clear cut chances for either side. Just a lot of square balls and not much more. Sorry about not getting it played in time mackenzie.

3 points a piece, the first game Santander went 3 up in the first half, from then on we battled for 3 tight halfs, Toulouse grabbing a 90th minute winner in game 2.

We played on Thursday and I can't remember a lot about them except that I was pretty lucky to win both games. Went behind twice in the first one before going ahead in the second half. I remember that Yiggy had more shots than me in the second game without scoring.
