Ooh, nice! I used to have a couple of those for my Saturn. IIRC they had a nice weight / feel to them - you got a nice bargain there, provided it's still in decent condition. Wonder how easy/hard they are to mod...

Ooh nice. Yeah it's just the PS version of the Fighting Sega Saturn stick and I've read they were cool.

It looks to be in decent nick too

It'll do me nicely until I manage to snag a HRAP2 someday

You know what.

I was just playing SNK v Cap 2 and Third Strike on the PS2. The 360 d pad is insanely shitty- the worst, but the Playstation one is awful too for fighters to me.

Before HD Remix I never played much beat em ups apart from the odd Tekken sesh which it was fine it, but for quarter circle hungry Street Fighter? How do you fuckers do it? The d pad is just four shitty seperated tiny slabs of plastic- it actually hurts to use after a few minutes on it for me. Fine for 4 way games like Klonoa, shooters etc, but I used the damn analog stick because it felt so bad.

Maybe I just love arcade sticks too much, but jesus!

Nintendo and Sega know how to make d-pads- these new boys are useless.

It a good stick that one not TE/HRAP grade but certainly in the same league as a EX/SE stick assuming it's not been battered! It's worth keeping an eye out for the Namco PS1 stick I believe that was one of the best as well (I have 2) although it's all Hori parts as well so probably the same feel as the one you've ordered!

This is what the PS3 pad did to me after about an hours play of SF4.

So my Tournament Edition stick arrived early last week, and as expected, it's a thing of beauty. Really satisfied with it so far - the only slight thing that's niggling away at my mind is how easily the surface of the faceplate is getting scuffed and scratched. Purely aesthetic issue I know, but having cost me £150 I'd like to keep it looking fairly respectable.

What's my options in terms of replacing the faceplate with one that's properly laminated and such? I've no intentions of printing off/designing one myself, mainly due to my complete ineptness at anything practical like that, but I'd more than happily just buy one from somewhere and switch them over myself. Seen some pretty impressive designs going around during the time of the game's launch, pedobear stick excluded...

My Fighting Stick PS arrived!

I opened it up and was like "wtf"- the stick and buttons are tiny! Like a novelty mini stick. The buttons are about the size of the start/select buttons on the TE (20mm?) so at first I was a little dissapointed.

Knocked on 3rd Strike though and it actually works really well! The movements were coming out easily and the buttons while smaller than most sticks actually work pretty well. I'm happy- a million times better than the pad.

MDY: I really like the Blanka colour scheme of your buttons!

Cheers

Took me ages to decide what to go with - considered just going for white & black again - but I'm glad I didn't - and it kinda goes with the print on the stick too :(

This little stick is fucking amazing for shmups- because the stick itself is so small it's REALLY easy to make tiny movements on it- brilliant for bullet dodging. Not bad for fighters either, nowhere nice as my TE but still pretty damn decent

Modded my other one today, full Seimitsu. The LS-32 goes in fine, you just have to desolder the Jlf. I didn't use qd's after, just soldered it straight on.

The only slight mod needed is if you are using screw in buttons the 'a' one doesn't quite fit under the metal lip of the bracket that holds the stick, so it needs some bending up a little.

The LS-32 has a much shorter travel than the JLF, so is far better for shmups.

Yeah that's actually a really smart moves. The button colours bring out the colours in the print and draw a lot more focus to Blanka. Awesome work.

So, it's early days, and the housing is completely temporary until the wiring is finished, but I just had my first few rounds of Street Fighter IV using my self build. Admittedly I only had jump, crouch, forward, heavy punch and all punch available to me, but it has spurred me on to try and get the wiring out of the way this weekend
