Old School Rave and Jungle

Taking it all the way back there, Miscreant! Slow rollers. I like that Ragga Clash one.

This is an absolute belter that I remember being in loads of DJ sets!

I dug out all my old jungle/dnb vinyl this weekend. I don't have a lot but there's some real gems in there (on the lighter side of things mostly). Highlights:

DJ Krust - Jazz Note / Burning - the difference in style between the two sides of this is remarkable!

Ils & Solo - Sweet Sunshine

LTJ Bukem - Horizons

Ken Ishii - Stretch (Shogun Remix)

JMJ & Flytronix - In Too Deep

Courtney Pine - I've Known Rivers (4Hero Remix) - love the break on this one.

Sorry for all that smoothness! I'll post up some proper rave next time

Someone mentioned Bizzy B earlier...

I posted this in some hardcore/oldskool thread before we got the nice embedded vids:

Altern8 - Everybody (2 Bad Mice remix)

It pisses all over the original, really solid remix.

THC - Sunshine

Slipmatt doing it right on this one. The break is amazing on this. The Roy Ayers track is samples is worth a listen too.

I've just found an excellent Youtube uploader:

XxTotalKaozxX

Loads of live sets from back in the day, the majority with full tracklistings and download links. He seems to be constantly uploading new ones too, I've just lost an hour looking through it. Amazing.

Just re-discovered these two from clicking around on the sets:

DJ Seduction - You and Me

Border Line - Screwface

Man, I love youtube and discogs. I keep finding more gems. Some I know.

Bizarre Inc - Plutonic

DJ Icee/Icey - Tricks Theme

DJ Vibes - Obsession

Some I don't - like this N.R.G. stuff which is awesome.

It's Ruff

Trip Switch

The Music Makers

Feel The Fury - not sure which mix I prefer.

Vinylgroover - Groove Control

Can't post that without posting this:

Feel The Fury - not sure which mix I prefer.

It's got to be the Piano Mix for me, best record Will Smith has ever appeared on.

NRG also used the alias Liquid Crystal, and I don't think he put out a bad track under either of them. 'You Got Me' is probably his most well known track, but I'm not posting that.

Something about the massive, blatant samples always puts a smile on my face.

Yeah, you're right about the Piano mix - which bit is Will Smith?

Really like that Power Within track too. Nice (recent by the looks of it) remix of You Got Me on Youtube.

This was in the related vids - another I always loved.

Jimmy J & Cru-L-T - Take Me Away (Slipmatt Remix)

The 'feel the fury' sample is from this (about 3:25 in):

Not keen on the You Got Me remix myself, just sounds like the original with some trancy elements and tons of reverb. The replayed piano parts sound really weedy too.

I didn't mind the original version of Take Me Away, but the Slipmatt mix is leagues ahead of it.

I was watching Predator 2 last night and I was reminded of the awesome "Time Stretch" by Hyper on Experience (not sure what the video's about though)

Good to see some Moving Shadow tunes returning to Youtube after being removed. It seems a bit rich to cry copyright infringement when you're talking about tunes built from pilfered samples but whatever.

I'm sure I read somewhere that 6six6 was Luna-C's attempt at making a HoE style tune, I think it turned out pretty well and It's one of my favourites from the era. Not often you get samples from Drop Dead Fred and Airplane! in one track. Though the less said about the Justin Time remix, the better.

For those interested, you can download every release from the Kniteforce stable (inc. Remix Records for the aforementioned Slipmatt remix of Take Me Away) for free from the Kniteforce website.
