So I started my second playthrough recently and I'm all about the hunting now. It's so much fun, but I'll be goddamned if I can figure out where to find rabbits, I went back to the cabbage patch you first shoot them at and there's none, so where the hell are they?

To answer your question.

Rabbits are most common around The Hanging Rock just north of Armadillo.

And this was essential for collecting the hard to get bits.

Yeah, I remember when I first played through this awesome game I too had a few Ennio mMrricone music tracks playing as I rode my horse around shooting people. The atmospshere was incredible in places, the scenery and music combined so well especially if you added some of the classic western soundtracks.

In fact...its a perfect time to replay this, thanks for reminding me!

if anyone has any pointers or tips, i would be very greatful.

Take your sweet time and enjoy every minute. Don't feel beholden to the challenges and such, either. While they're a fun part of the game, for me RDR's all about seeing what comes your way, whether it be a beautiful view as you gallop across the landscape on your steed, or a few bandits who you can deal out your own kind of justice to as they hold up and carriage. Just try to mix it up and keep it fresh.

The Winchester Repeater was my staple gun for pretty much the whole game after I received it. Not only does it sound the most authentic, but some of the later guns with massive clip sizes can make the shootouts too easy.

Bugger, now I want to play this all the way through again. And I have so many good games yet untouched.

Definitely a game to just wallow in. I used to stand on the balcony of the saloon in Armadillo for ages, just watching a rain storm. And then the train would roll in.

It's people's personal account of events/things they did in their own play throughs that make you appreciate what a glorious game this is. There's lots of fun to be had in the story and quests certainly, but it's the random encounters and adventures that stay with you.

I remember catching the beginnings of a glorious sunset so trudged my way up the nearest hill to take it all in. Once I reached the top I sat there for quite some time on the back of my horse just drinking it all in and watching the reds, oranges and yellows all blend in the evening sky. I eventually decided to clamber back down the hillside and, on nearing the bottom, slowed to a gentle trot. After a few yards, a cougar threw itself out of a bush in my direction, knocking me clean off my steed and killing it instantly in the process. I'd had that horse the entire game (over 30 hours of play by that point) and was absolutely gutted. Having picked myself up off the floor I whipped out my gun and fired a volley of bullets into the cougar, leaving it dead on the floor. I stood next to my horse in the red light of the evening before walking back to Blackwater under the stars.

It sounds daft reading that back, but it's one of those games that can have some really poignant moments in it, and makes you want to play to those moments when they occur.

I loved just wandering through Armadillo tipping my hat to people and saying hello. Heading over to the bar for a few shots, checking out the local women. Heading out back to play a few hands. Stepping out to see the local lawman hammering a wanted sign up on the railway building.

Noob, I have another tip. This is ever so slightly spoilerish, but I'm only naming a location you get to visit...

When you get to...

Mexico

Don't call for your own horse, get on the horse that is waiting there for you. That's all I'll say about that.

Other than that though, as someone else mentioned, don't fast travel, at least not until you've seen all the land.

:(

What happens? I remember that came at the end of a long session and I saved as soon as I got there I think.
