Red Dead Redemption - Never coming to PC

I have noticed that mp has a fair few cunts though.

Either deliberately griefing co-op missions, keeping a lobby waiting ages while they run around throwing themselves off cliffs (I caught two playing hide and seek yesterday), or being annoying in poker by going all in at the start of every fucking hand.

One of these days someone will come up with a good way of mitigating pisstakers.

Finally got back into this as having it sat there mocking me was doing my box in. Couple of questions, though:

For the Bandito outfit it says I need to eliminate all players at Liar's Dice in Casa Madrugada but I'm at a point in the game where I think I might have fucked it as there's no-one at Casa Madrugada except a preacher wandering around. There's no icon for Liar's Dice on he minimap but there is on the main map. What gives?

Also, I don't know if the writing is skew-if or what, but I did the mission where you

kill the general with Reyes and Marston says "It's a shame about Louisa." At no point in the mission or before did it mention she'd fucking died! What the hell happened?

She took a bullet for Reyes, didn't she?

You know what? I'd rather they leave it as it is. I think it ends in a way that doesn't need any further explanation or escapades. I don't think they can wring much more out of the "end of the Old West" thing anyway, and that's really what the game is about.

Deadly Assassin Outfit, War Horse and Golden Guns finally coming to Xbox Live and PSN

Rockstar has confirmed that three pieces of DLC will be made available for Red Dead Redemption this week.

Each piece was originally offered as a pre-order incentives when the game was first released in May last year. They will now be available to everyone on Xbox Live and PSN.

The three pieces – Deadly Assassin’s Outfit, War Horse and Golden Guns Weapons Pack – will go live on April 12th, and will cost 80 Microsoft Points or $0.99 each.

A post on the official site reads: “Apologies to everyone for having to wait so long to get these available as DLC as there were some unanticipated technical delays.”

Rockstar went on to add that pre-order DLC for L.A. Noire should become widely available much sooner.

On the Marketplace now. Might be time to go back to the old west and start again. I've had an urge lately to re do this incredible game.

I am not a guy who replays games, especially when they are so story driven. I aim to do as much as I can the first time around.

Care to offer me some reasons to replay this unbelievable game? What did people do on your second playthrough?

Don't advise me to play me the undead dlc as I hate the concept.

There's plenty of Wild West left, but they'd have to move backwards in timeframe I think to capture a different kind of story. Kinda like Vice City is to GTA3.

The glaring suggestion is Red Dead Renegades. Go back to when Marston's old gang first came together under a vague idealogical opposition to crooked and corrupt authority. They've pretty much done the high concept on backstory already in RDR, and you'd be handed the trad episodic arc of recruiting gang members while working toward taking out a big crooked boss. Start off with simple heroics and camaraderie in the face of injustice but then slowly reveal that some of your band of brothers are little more than rapists and murderers, more interested in securing their freedoms to do what they wilt. Keeps the morals dirty and grants all sorts of opportunities for the player Marston to choose and switch black and white hats.

But that's all too easy. I wonder if they shouldn't just start again, tell a new story with new characters. To feel free to re-use and buff existing resources, including The Best Skybox Ever, but look at or steal from a wealth of Western pulp fiction.

Game design changes? Don't get me started.

That not reason enough? You know the game, surely you know if you want to replay it or not.

Personally I'm not sure I could go through it again, as sad as it sounds, knowing how it all ends would just put too much of a downer on all of Johns exploits.

I'd be playing, desperately hoping for an alternate ending. I'm not afraid to admit that I was genuinely moved by the ending first time round.

It's an odd game. On the one hand you never seem to get anywhere for a very long time, a lot of the missions are travelling and conversation (which would be a damn shame to skip, as it's incredibly well written) and Mexico really is the doldrums, but the game overall is fucking spectacular. Even though I felt I was forcing myself to finish it I still look back and go "That was fucking awesome."

I'm leaving Undead Nightmare for a bit as I don't want to OD on it, I did that with Bioshock 1 and 2.
