Downloaded last night, although waiting until I am finished the main game first.

Talking of which, hard to tag this up but I THINK this is spoiler for near the end of the game.

does anyone think all this playing at owning a ranch and having happy families would have been best served at the start of the game? dont get me wrong I am really enjoying it and its a nice change of pace, I just think it would have set the game up better. Or did Rockstar not have enough faith in their audience to deny them a balls out action packed opening?

Really enjoying this. I have to echos the other sentiments about the voice acting and cut scenes in this too. Theyre absolutely top-fucking-notch. Id forgotten just how brilliant John Marston was, and the cut scenes really are great.

Seth playing cards with the zombie

Id also forgotten just how bloody gorgeous it all looks. Its like falling in love all over again

I got pestilence last night who just looks fucking badass to ride around on. Its a shame the actual zombie horses are so crap to ride tho, cause they look pretty cool.

There is a hell of a lot of game in this for 800pts.

for reals. This isnt your usual 800 points for an hours with of point A to point B linear gameplay. As much as i liked the DLC for Alan Wake, i have to say, undead nightmare puts it to shame. But having said that, i think it puts pretty much every other DLC ive played to shame, aside from possibly point lookout for fallout 3

Really enjoying this so far.I'm 5 five hours in and haven't even been to Mexico yet.I'd normally expect to be paying 1200 for content like this so fair plat to Rockstar.

They've really nailed the change in tone with the atmosphere. There was a nice touch with one of the first achievements you get as well :D

The "Six years in the making" achievement for killing the sasquatch.

Avoiding this thread for spoilers, but:

sasquatch hunting

Was fucking amazing.

I couldn't bring myself to kill the last one, the poor guy. Does anything happen if you do?

How they managed to pull off that final scene and actually make it kind of emotionally affecting for such a ludicrous situation was honest to god amazing. No idea what happens if you kill the last one tho, i couldnt do it either :(

No there are no repercussions for killing the last one. I couldn't bring myself to do it either.

I have been playing for about 4 hours. I have been working across the map, saving each town on the way. I don't think I am very far through the story. I have done some bits with the Sherrif and his deputies and am finishing the quest after meeting the guy playing cards ;)

I have two of the 4 horses. I also read there is a Unicorn somewhere  I have come across a few zombified bears but I haven't killed one yet. I am going to have a bigish session on it tonight and put in a few more hours.

It really is very well done.

This is brilliant. What needs adding is Undead Free-roam to make it even more awesome.

Undead Survival Horde thing is really bloody hard with only two people. It's like 28 Days Later in the middle of the desert, with essentially no cover and loads of those bastard man-dog-zombies coming at you. :D

Did you join my Xbox Live Party last night Snowbind? Someone (I think it was you) left and I didn't even realise they'd joined - my mate and I were planning survival tactics. Then we died.

Anyone fancy some Undead Survival Co-op later around 11pm?

No worries. I see that they've added

Zombie multiplayer skins, selectable from the Outfitter. My mate joined our free-roam session as Zombie Ricketts, walked up behind me and made a zombie growl. :D

We were running around Blackwater as Zombies, it's really funny when the people hail you like normal:

- "Good morning to you, Sir!"

- "Mrrrmmmmgghh"

Fucking

I came across a guy in the plains, who was with his wife. His wife had been zombified and was tied to a post with a rope. I set his wife alight and she ran in circles around the post ablaze, whilst her husband went mental and shot at me. I loled then executed them both.

This dlc

Just had a go at the UN dlc for half hour. The narrator is fucking brilliant. :)

As usual when returning to a game after a time away, though, I've been preoccupied with remembering the controls and as such have missed some of the help text. For instance, during town defense bits I've just been shooting stuff, I have no idea what those dots above the bar mean.

Any idea?

It's supposedly the other way around, according to most people. I thought it had the most gorgeous environment of the game and great misions.

I honestly don't know how you could find Mexico the best looking part of the game, it's a barren, repetitive, monotone wasteland. I thought the only visually appealing part of the whole area is that very first view when you enter (which is, admittedly, stunning.)

It's all about the lush forests and grand vistas around the North East for me.
