Amazing scenes last night from Team Bravo. Considering the raid makeup we had (blusher, rouge, eyeliner), we did remarkably well. Only two casters for Deathwhisper adds? No worries! Only two ranged to kill blood beasts on Saurfang Jnr? No worries! And considering we got the lot down despite starting an hour and a slice late, I think we deserve a round of applause!

Also, I fucking love tanking.

Yes can I add thanks for a great run last night.

The new wing is just brilliant and having no idea what trash is going to do is always full. Special awesome award to Cham for twice having the best vent quotes all night "I'm a slime!" and "don't die, don't die, don't die!"

Rotface and kiting his bloody buggy slimes is a bit of a bugger sure we will nail it on Sunday.

Thanks to:

Mot and Jer the awesome tanking twins and dealing with the huge tank check of Festergut

Tree, Cham and Deefy for healing through some insane damage spikes

Fneeb and Batty they may only be mages but my god they put out some OP DPS

Fin for misdirecting and always staying calm

Raegor for brilliant trash pack wipes :bye:

Oh and to everyone for letting me jump back between different specs all night, seem to know now when to be either affliction or destruction.

In general much funz

J

We were melee heavy last night and there was a lot more raid damage going on than I remember last time I healed it.

I was looking forward to dpsing Saurfang to see what icould get in my tank spec. I have to say though that being kitty, then caster to root the bloodbeast, then bear to charge it once the roots dropped off and back to kitty to get back on Saurfang was great fun.

Thanks all for much fun last night. Really great atmosphere & everyone was amazing! :bye: Pro tanking by our awesome warrior duo & ace healing from team heal (thanks for standing in with alts & switching specs as needed guys). I actually really enjoyed the extra challenge of having only 2 caster dps (/highfive Ota!) & really having to think about when to use cooldowns & timing AB stacks to get adds down quickly (though I nearly had a heart-attack trying to solo the blood beast on my side on our first Saurfang Jnr attempt!!) Thanks to Choc for amazing use of roots & shifting on the second go - it made a massive difference!

Thanks for the invite last night guys, was a heap of fun! Much appreciated!

Thanks for coming - it was great to have you guys with us! :bye:

Just to echo - I thought last night was really fun - I think the fact it was so different to most runs (only 1 mage! ...and a dps pally? WTF!) made it a right laugh.

And the people were lovely

I have decided after a many failed run of trying to get the trinket from HoR, that perhaps completing my 2 trinket set Ony 25 trinkets would be better, I can then just use a mojo flask and gain more spell power from the trinket anyway

So will be hopefuly trying to run a ony 25 tonight, around 8.30ish! if anyones up for it i'll attempt it then unless i can see a pug forming, rather go with some muk members try to get some gear for alts or mains or whatnot!!

I was reading some rogue type stuff this morning and you remember that really annoying steam you have to get past after Saurfang? Well apparently us rogues can pull the big lever and turn it all off! I did wonder why you all ignored me when I asked if anyone had pulled it...

Great fun tonight despite not managing to get Rotface down. I'll take a more comprehensive look at tweeking my frost-spec tomorrow but my main concern (in addition to fearing for my life!) is whether I'll be able to keep aggro on the big slimes in frost-spec as I'll need to stand still to cast. Icelance is an instant but it does negligible damage to unfrozen targets & therefore I'm guessing negligible threat. I could get rid of threat reduction talents & perhaps with a Deep Freeze every 30 seconds (if I survive that long...!) I may be able to keep them on me? A novel problem to try to increase my threat! I'll take a proper look when I get in tomorrow night & see about switching glyphs around & taking some pvp talents to make me a bit less squishy. Any suggestions very welcome.

One strategy I read suggested that an off-tank take the slimes but a mage moves out to the edge with the first person to get the Mutated Infection and snares the small slime with a frost nova when it gets cleansed off to make the kiting a bit smoother.

Tankspot suggests the following for 10 man:

- Once the big ooze spawns, an off tank taunts it, pops a major defensive cooldown and annoys it solidly for 10 secs or so, then legs it.

- Offtank should just run through the slime floods as the damage is small and can easily be healed. The snare needs to be addressed either by BoF or similar. Anti magic shield is also very good for this if we decide to use Grahl again.

- Split the raid into two groups, one behind each leg. When he turns to one group to do slime spray, run to the other leg and then go back once he has finished the cast. Running in front of him isn't good as apparently he cleaves.

We'll see if beta team can get him down tonight with this new info...

EDIT: Forgot to say that, despite wiping for a solid two hours on that big sack of shit; not once did it get frustrating or feel cheap or did I want to give up. I think the fight is tuned quite nicely in terms of difficulty and it's great to face something challenging that takes more than our usual 'couple of wipes whilst we figure it out, then clear' tradition to overcome...

A couple of things I found when trying to kite the slimes, the bigger ones are tauntable but immune to chains of ice, the little ones are the opposite, (or maybe thats only true of the first of the little ones?). Anyway, I was finding it best to stick chains on the little ones and taunt the big ones when it was off cooldown.

Generating threat was a bit of a problem, as I wasn't generating enough runic power to use death coil. Not sure if it's a wise idea to melee them a bit (I don't have any sort of tanking or PvP gear on Grahl), but using anti magic shield would help, as damage absorbed by that converts to runic power.

Defo not a wise idea. The big ooze two shots tanks, it will for sure one shot you.

I suggest we try to have the off tank do it again using Mumps's info above. Not sure about you but I have my shield wall on a 2m cooldown, so that's a viable strategy for me. That way we don't lose any of our star DPSers either.

P.S. Ant is not free tonight. Hoping Choc can make it!

I found getting the small oozes to merge with the big oozes without taking a load of damage either from the big oozes aura or the little ooze hitting me a bit on the tricky side, so if anyone has any good suggestions (other than practice!) I'm all ears.

One thing I did think of was if Jera was kiting oozes, you could run a bit in front of the tank then get cleansed and have Jera do chains of ice to root the ooze and kite the big ooze through it. Presumably you could do something similar with a moonkin or if a mage was infected they could nova it place. I suppose the tricky bit would be eventually the oozes are spawning too close together to do that and it relies on you getting into a really good position before calling for a cleanse.

Although I thought Cham's suggestion of zooming in the mini map so you can easily see where Mot was helped a lot (for me anyways).
