Webbinho 7-0 bph

bph 4-1 Webbinho

First game Racing were playing so well that the 2nd result was inevitable! Munitis and Tchite were on fire, they had pace the passes were inch perfect and really they could of had a few more. Boro were unlucky early on, with the first goal hitting the last man and bouncing to Munitis through on goal, the 2nd and 3rd came from the keepers unfortunate parry direction!

The 2nd game again emphasised Racing's poor away record, they had no pace, the passing was woeful, even when Wheater was sent off midway through the first half for sweeping Munitis into the air like Bruce Lee it made no difference, the lone centre back had everything covered. At the other end Boro took their chances well and took a commanding 4-0 lead. Munitis got 1 back, but it was never going to be.

Cheers for the games mate.

Thanks for the games, like you say a bit of a difference in the games. I couldn't handle your strikers at all in the first game but even with 3 at the back in the 2nd, my defenders always seemed to be there. Good luck for the rest of the season!

Also I've sent a PM to Harbey, explaining the situation and what we are doing

Sorry for the late reply (internet down yesterday).

For future reference, I would suggest if this situation happens the best idea would be to play the remaining time but continue with the score e.g. set up a 2 min per half game (if you can do that) or agree to play to 40mins in a 5 min half game.

There's no definite ruling to this, but usually a common sense approach where no one is losing goals is the best answer. Like wise, if a connection drops and some one is winning, play an estimate of the remaining time, but any goals still count.

Slotter 3 - 0 ASM

ASM 2 - 1 Slotter

Two good games. I thought that during the first game I played probably the best I've done this season and I might actually mange to beat someone twice, but then ASM came guns blazing in the second game to quickly go 2-0 up! I thought it was going to be more but I grabbed one back and it was pretty even after that. Interestingly (or not!) in the second game ASM scored 2 goals with only one shot on target!

CFTG fella :)

wiener 0 - 1 gingerling

gingerling 2 - 1 wiener

The turnaround of gingerlings muckas continues.

Both games were rather scrappy.

I was pretty lucky with the 2nd game with wiener hitting the wood work a fair few times.

Then at the end in the 90th min I headed home to go 2-1 up. Cruel result really.

(Petey) Internacional 1 - 0 Bolton (Reef)

Tight game, but Internacional seemed to have the edge over Bolton, created more chances and managed to finish at least one to give them the advantage.

Bolton couldn't create much throughout the game and in the second half both defenses were playing well and noone really had a chance at all.

(Reef) Bolton 0 - 1 Internacional (Petey)

This game should have been a massive 10+ goals game, but neither team could finish and were awful in front of goal, both keepers were playing cracking games.

But a breakthrough in the second half when the attacker beat the offside trap and got into the box, keeper rushed out and Nilmar tucked it into the bottom corner, lovely finish.

Bolton should have been level when a cross was headed against the bar and then the rebound was headed over the bar from 3 yards with noone in his way.

Well played Reef, you were unlucky not to get at least a goal.

Good luck with the rest of your games :D

I played my games with Wiener last night and they were both really close and pretty intense games.

Santander (Webbinho) 2 - 1 Celtic (Wiener)

Racing made it 22 points from 8 home games with a hard fought victory, the battle in the middle of the park was great with tackles and mis placed passes all over the place. Celtic went 1 up early through Scott McDonald, but Tchite equalised just a minute later to make it 1-1 after only 11 minutes. Munitis struck the winner with a nice curling shot from 20 yards, which I was pretty pleased about and we held on to take all 3 points.

Celtic 4 - 4 Santander

Racing were again very poor defensively away from home, only 8 points taken from the 8 away games shows somethings not clicking on the road, especially when you compare my home defence ( 3 conceeded) to my away (20 conceeded!) But to be honest I was delighted with this result. Wiener again went 1 up through McDonald after 9 minutes, but this time he added a 2nd straight after to leave Santander 2 down after just 10 minutes. But as before, Tchite scored a quick reply to make it 2-1 after only 12 minutes and a goal fest was on the cards. Celtic continued to pressurise and deservedly led 4-1 at the break, another away day disappointmnet for Santander. But the 2nd half started perfectly, Tchite scoring with a move which started from the kick-off, to give me 44 minutes to find 2. Somehow I did and after 88 minutes it was 4-4!

Thanks for the ganmes mate, really enjoyed them. All the best for the rest of the season

rokforce 5 - 0 Legendary

After a restart due to a dog-related incident at Legendary's end ("restardue dogs!", hehe) it was a fairly one-sided affair. You were unlucky to score on more than one occasion, but particularly when your guy missed the target from 6 yards out.

Legendary 1 - 4 rokforce

The clinical finishing of Borges and Hugo came to the fore again. This one looked like being a lot closer when Legendary equalised on about 20 mins, but my front two were on fire and ensured the victory.

Cheers for the games. Sorry for making you type out that long explanation as to why the first game had to start again, I just couldn't figure out what 'restardue dogs' meant. Was pretty funny. Good luck in the rest of the season.

Saint 0 - 1 rokforce

A very tense game which could have gone either way. Just managed to snatch it with a 70th minute goal after a corner.

rokforce 0 - 2 Saint

Again it was a very tense encounter. Saint took the lead quite early with a cracking strike from the edge of the box. I then turned up the pressure and I think hit the post 3 times and the underside of the bar before Saint added a second late on after a poor first touch from my goalkeeper. Felt a little hard done by but that's the way with football.

CFTGs mate. Hope the rest of your season goes well. Particularly your games against Pete :)

So, 6 games to play, and both my main title rivals to come. I wish Honest Pete would keep his predictions to himself, I always seem to lose after he tips me.

Sorry for the delay Petey, forgot all about writing this up. Two tight games, which you deserved 6 points from, although I could/should have taken something from the second. The more I play FIFA the more backwards I seem to get with it. All of my games seem to descend into an unholy middlefield scrap and Bolton's very limited range of accurate passing doesn't help matters. As for the missed header, it made Zaki's chanced at the weekend look like a difficult one. I tapped shoot, honestly just tapped it for him to head into an empty net, know idea what I am supposed to do with these players when they play like that. Hmmmph!

Cheers for the games buddy, really well played, both your goals were very well taken indeed. Good luck with the rest of the season.

(Petey) Internacional 1 - 0 Borussia Dortmund (Samcivilised)

Really close game, any scoreline up to 3-0 either way it could have ended. Both teams playing well, but couldn't quite get the finishing right. Dortmund's keeper was on top form, keeping out all my chances (which weren't many to be honest).

Heartbreak for the goal, about 4 corners after one another ended with a header nestling into the top corner, in the 90+3 minutes. Really harsh on Dortmund who thought they had got a draw against a promotion contender.

(Samcivilised) Borussia Dortmund 0 - 3 Internacional (Petey)

Against this was a close game, both teams playing some good football but at the same time, there was some woeful balls being played. Breakthrough in the first half, with a slotted ball under the keeper.

Dortmund had some decent chances, but the finishing was a bit off and the shot was skewed over the bar.

It could have been more for Internacional, but the keeper was again on terrific form and was keeping out nearly everything.

Two more goals in the last 20 minutes killed any chance of a comeback for Dortmund.

Cheers for the games mate, you were very unlucky in both to not get a least a goal.

Good luck with staying up, seems any results and you'll shoot up the table. :)

Points Share In Brazilian Derby

(Petey) Internacional 2 - 1 Sao Paulo (rokforce)

A close game, with all the goals not really being legitimate.

An OG in the 3rd minute when the defender tucked it nicely into the top corner after the keeper parried it to him.

An offside that was so obvious, but due to the defenders intervention, it was not given.

And finally, one of those goals where the keeper really should have come and gathered, rather than standing there waiting for the striker to smack it.

All in all a great game.

(rokforce) Sao Paulo 2 - 1 Internacional (Petey)

Sao Paulo were on top for the whole game this time, Internacional couldn't get into it at all. Taking a 2-0 lead in the first half with some good play and nicely worked moves.

Second half Internacional came back and managed to grab a goal from a lovely cross and header, but other than that chance there was little else.

Sao Paulo bossed the rest of the game and the game finished at 2-1

Well played rokforce, enjoyed the games a lot, was very open in the first, but you were definitely on top in that second.

Good luck with your remaining games, I feel its going to be a nail-biter for all involved

Confirmed. Very accurate summary really, and over the two games I think 3 points each was fair.

I also very much enjoyed the matches. We are really well matched in terms of ability, and both playing as technically proficient Brazilians meant that some great football was played. Good luck in your final couple of games.

I got kicked out the Mother Inlaws so I am at my Mam's at the moment.

I am supposed to get the keys to my new place in the morning so I should be back on live soon.

If possible could I have an extension on my games.

I'll try to get them played this week.

If you see me on Fallout 3 onlive it's because it's being played on a PC not the 360

cheers

Reef (Bolton) 2 - 0 ASM (Sampdoria)

ASM (Sampdoria) 0 - 1 Reef (Bolton)

Played ASM last night, 2 quite scrappy games, it was a case of my last ditch defending and counter attacks against ASM's speedy forward play. In the first game I should have been 3 - 0 down by half time. Rather than beating the offside trap cleverly, all the Sampdoria forwards had to do was receive the ball, turn and sprint past my defenders, it was men against boys. However everything ASM hit was straight at my keeper and deflected out of the path of any oncoming strikers. I scored with my first attack, I finally get to the by-line, cross in and Kevin Davies does what he does best (the only thing he can do) and rises up to head past the keeper. Another 30 mins of Sampdoria pressure, with some comical defending by the Bolton back 4, but somehow it's still only 1-0. I managed to get the all important 2nd goal, the Sampdoria keeper makes a routine save and unluckily for ASM, it rolls into the path of a Bolton forward who amazingly didn't blast it over the bar. ASM had a great chance at the end but my keeper does me proud again. ASM deserved at least 3 points out of this game in my opinion.

The 2nd game, I actually thought I started really well for once. However I couldn't get the goal that my couple of clear chances deserved. Bolton were actually passing the ball well, and to feet which suprised most onlookers. The 2nd half was mostly all ASM attacking with me relying on chip through balls as a way of escape and to ease the pressure. Amazingly Davies managed to receive one of these whilst also staying onside and hit the ball sweet as you like from the edge of the box. Unsurprisngly, the balls smacks into the crossbar, but alert as a panther, he gets up highest to head the ball into the back of the net. A draw would have been the fairest result for this game, although truth be told, not many fans would have hung around until the end to see it, not really the best skills on show, more like a real midfield scrap. Bolton are such a horrible team, all they can do is stifle games, I do apologise for that.

Thanks for the games ASM, good luck with your final matches.

! ALERT !

This Sunday, the final fixtures of season 16 become active. From that point there will only be 7 days left of the season!

Any games not played by 3pm Sunday 8th Feb 2009 will be decided by the pools panel.

Points will be deducted as normal for teams not making the effort to play.

I'm sure everyone wants positions to be decided on the pitch rather than in the halls of the league HQ, so please do all you can to get the games played ASAP.

Good luck in your final matches!

So, I need 9 points to guarantee the title :P

As I said in the note gingerling, I'd rather not play tonight because I'm very tired after a couple of night shifts (made the mistake of playing in the 2v2 cup after nightshifts and my bro still hasn't forgiven me). However, if it's the only time you're available then I'll do it. I am free anytime Mon-Thurs next week, or tomorrow afternoon.

Title Hope Still Alive

(Saint) Galatasaray 1 - 2 Internacional (Petey)

A tight game, end to end stuff, lots of chances on both sides, it could have gone either way.

Saint's keeper was on top form and was saving everything, undone by a lob in the second half.

Equaliser from Saint came with only a few minutes to go after a burst through the middle.

But Daniel Carvalho broke through in the 90th minute to slot it past the keeper and give Internacional a win that was harsh on Galatasaray.

A Draw would have been a fair result.

(Petey) Internacional 1 - 0 Galatasaray (Saint)

This game was also very tight, end to end stuff again. But both sides were lacking finishing and a set piece was the only goal made in the game, from a corner the header was looped into the corner.

Galatasaray had a handful of chances to get back into the game but my defense was standing strong and putting in some good tackles.

A battle of the midfields this match and neither side really seemed to come out on top.

Unlucky with some of your chances Saint, that one with your keeper rolling it out to my forward was harsh, so I gave you a throw :P When you scored I was regretting it

Good luck with making the playoffs :(
