Star Wars Clone Wars and Rebels, feat. Bad Batch

They should just leave it there, it ended perfectly, all my favourite episodes have been the big battles involving Jedi, Sith and armies, not much in the way of story just kicking ass but those last 5 minutes of the last episode are by far the best thing this TV series has ever produced. Anakins realisation when Ahsoka say "I know" plays on the heart strings to perfection.

Season 6, the final 13 episode season I never knew was coming, will be coming to Netflix on March 7. Though it apparently gets shown on Germany's Super RTL first, starting tomorrow and ending the day Netflix gets it. So they may be accidentally available if it's not dubbed in German. Seems to be split into four arcs of 3 or 4 episodes, with Germany showing each arc as one piece each week.

Fucking stupid action Yoda. As crap as the prequels were right from the start, badass Yoda in AotC was the moment I thought, "I can't take any more of this shit."

Yeah. I thought the whole thing with Yoda in Empire was that he's such a Force genius that he doesn't even need a lightsaber. Not that he was a fucking Beyblade.

I honestly felt that series 5 was the perfect ending and that's where it should have stopped but these 13 episodes of series 6 has left me wanting more, it really is the tightest and best consecutive episodes made, even if it is spoiled by that floppy eared cunt for a couple of episodes and the fact they needlessly changed the name of Korriban to Moraband for no reason, guess it'll be turning up in the new movies.

I guess that's officially the end of the prequel era then. I feel a bit sad about that. Despite all the hatred and negativity I've had a lot of enjoyment from them over the last fifteen years. I'm only on season 2 of TCW so I'm going to savour the last few seasons before gearing up for the sequel era.

Slightly OT, but was searching for info on the new SW Rebels series coming in the autumn and ended up on the The Mirror's web page, where I found this bit of genius copy:

"Zeb is based on the original design of Chewbacca, but unlike the Wookie, he's all about intelligence and mussel."

Irony much?

I guess they got him mixed up with Admiral Ackbar.

I'm about to start series 5 of clone wars on bluray. I waited months for them to bring out the complete boxset on bluray and have had a very enjoyable few months watching them, but bloody typical that about 3 weeks after I buy the sodding things they announce they're coming to Netflix.

Still, amazing show that I can't wait to watch again with my lad in a few years time.

As Rebels is practically identical (which is a compliment) suggest we change the title to include it.

Watched the first ep, and it's really good isn't it? Clone Wars was hampered by its characters; the Jedis' characteristics were defined by the prequels, and the clones were - by their nature - pretty samey (heh) but Rebels feels much fresher.

Simply having a rebellion, and that outsiders vs. the baddies dynamic, is such a core SW thing that when it rushes back in, it feels like the universe you know. In a way you can never get with the weird, creepy feeling the prequel-era stuff has, with its ambivalent Jedi, brainwashed troops, corruption and feeling of impending doom!

I really need to go back to Clone Wars at some point. I watched up until some point in the second season but I was forcing myself to press on really. If it really does improve as much as people say I'd love to see it.

Rebels is fantastic though. Based on the classic characters used so far I'm really looking forward to seeing what it does with Vader.
