When does TUF start? It should be good, it certainly needed a shake up. I dont get DC being booed either, other than against Anderson i cant recall him being dull, if Rumble wins at 210, DC could be Jones return match maybe

He got booed because he humped anderson for 3 rounds.

He got booed for utterly dominating a long-time favourite, whilst refusing to let Anderson run the fight his way.

As if anyone with a brain is going to stand with Silva when they have Olympic level wrestling. Going flashy against Silva ain't exactly a recipe for success.

MMA fans are weird.

Whats the shake up, its same as usual isnt it? Cody versus TJ with all the usual contrived gym barneys, I gave up on it years ago personally.

It was more the ex-fighter comeback angle than the up and comers but the did in S4 so i guess youre right

Re: DC vs Silva. It was pretty much an exhibition match on a massive PPV that UFC were trying to salvage. Personally I'm not that bothered but DC would have gained more fans had he at least attempted to make it an interesting fight (I know it's not WWE but no-one would have cared if he lost, he'd still be champ).

Anyway seems like Alvarez has come down with a case of Diazitis, he now considers himself above the likes of Poirier and Chiesa presumably because he briefly held the title. His was a similar trajectory to Woodley actually, thankfully Conor was on hand to stop him squeaking through any more decision wins.

I have to imagine that, when you're game-bred to win for your entire life, it's pretty hard to turn it off.

Don't forget, even though he wouldn't have lost the title, he's got an almost perfect record. If he loses to more than one guy, his career story changes from being the best ever not named Jon Jones, to being another very good LHW.

It made sense for him to fight safe (super embarrassing to lose while holding the belt), but fans felt like it was a bit of a switcheroo by him. He went from being booed, then hero for "saving" the card by accepting the fight, then back to the boos again for playing it so safe.  I understood his motive, but I'd like to have seen him do more. I mean if your light heavyweight champ is afraid of a 41 year old middleweight then somethings not quite right.

God... Woodley carries such a chip on his shoulder around everywhere with him that I'm actually agreeing with Dana bloody White.

Same. GSP never bitched like this. Then Woodley wonders why he has no fans.

I think it's all the more infuriating because Woodley has the skill set to be a really dominant, explosive champ. He's a beast at WW but has gone down some weird forced path that involves toy-throwing at every opportunity.

Alvarez Poirier is intriguing. 211 shaping up very nicely.

Ferguson didnt even get his show money for the weekend, he got about half which barely covered his camp. Stay classy UFC.

He's getting penalized for Khabib's mistake + sounds like he was even willing to fight for the event if the UFC just paid what he was originally set to make, which I don't think is an unreasonable request.

And if you think about they would have even likely been saving money because Michael Johnsons pay would have been much less than the Khabibs 500k. This is all pretty indicative where the UFC's current priorities are.

Yeah its sad because they used to try and make things right for example giving Ross Pearson his win money after being robbed against Diego. But now, not even given Ferguson half his show up pay is disgraceful

I hope so, selling the Fertitas would be great. The best thing about the UFC being the dominant mma promotion was that the biggest fights almost always happened and if they keep alienating fighters theyll leave and mma could end up a mess like boxing where nothing can be agreed

The fact that they expected Rousey to win and didnt know who Nunes was says a lot, as well as all these idiotic matchups and interim belts. Dana must be foaming behind the scenes, as much of a pain as he can be, at least he knows the business.
