I think his record doesnt quite stand up to the murderers row that someone like Jon Jones faced on his way up, too many Leites and Travis Luters on there, and the questionable drug use situation. He's up there, but he's certainly on a mission to tarnish it.

BJ Penn-esque in his tarnishing skills, joe.

Fedor still has the crown.

I like her too don't get me wrong, I just think shes very beatable. She should never have lost to Tate but she made all the wrong moves on the ground. I fancy Schevchenko to beat Nunes over 5 rounds. I must admit im not a huge Silva fan either, too much clowning against the likes of Maia at 112 and Thales Leites at 97, both of which had Dana White frothing at the mouth they were so bad.

Agree she's beatable. No stretch to think Cyborg or a 145 Nunes would make short work of her, and I'm not even sure she'll get past De Randamie. This will make me sound salty, but soft spot for her can be attributed to how she dismantled Rousey. Plus she's a ginger, so solidarity and all that!

Shevchenko Nunes is a fascinating one. I've watched the recent Fight Night a few times and that arm bar is a thing of beauty. Nunes looked bigger when they squared off afterwards, but if Shevchenko survives the likely early onslaught then she is more than capable of dominating the later rounds.

My boss has the 112 poster signed by all the main card in his office. Now our channels have the rights back, hoping UFC will return to the Middle East with another event in the future.

Shevchenko

Shevchenko has something like a 100 combined fights in kickboxing, mma and thai boxing. Even so, Nunes has height and reach on her that I don't think she'll be able to counter. Should be amazing to watch.

Yeah Im eternally grateful to holly for beating ronda, I watched it live and didnt stop smiling for 24 hours after.  Care to expand on this above, your channels? Where are you based?

Yeah very true, she seems really nice but i never really rated her along with Weidman and Machida for that matter.

I certainly rate her as a fighter but someone who is 3-2 in the UFC (coming off two losses) going for that second title certainly taints the exclusive group of what... Randy Couture, BJ Penn, Vitor Belfort, Dan Henderson (in Pride), and Conor.

Can't say much bad about Weidman or Machida though. Their records speak for themselves.

On a fun note, Yoel Romero has set up a GoFundMe page for Bisping's upcoming medical bills: https://www.gofundme.com/michael-bisping-retirement-party

I think he gets it.

Work as a senior channel manager for a Pay TV company in the UAE, imaging Sky but a lot smaller! I've not long moved over to the Sports team, which was good timing as we got the UFC rights back at the start of the year. It's interesting working with them, especially as a fan.

Nice, I had no idea, sounds cracking mate very good.

As jobs go it's not too bad! Spent a while at Sky One, then did movie channels elsewhere and out here for a few years, those are a cinch.

Sport brings challenges with live events but it's a fun conundrum to solve (currently waiting to hear on weigh-in details for 208 and where we'll slot those in).

Yeah that does sound interesting, I have a BT sport sub but I tend to just stream the weigh ins from websites and whatnot, I dont have a set top box running anywhere currently. I used to do tech support for UK match reporters and whatnot on a weekend, nothing crazy, just engineer liason, booking streams and so on, but it was fun talking to them up and down the country (from the arse end of nowhere sometimes, complaining as there were 100 journos all trying to get on the wifi at Rotherham or something).

I like Holly Holm, but man, could anything take the lustre off the phrase "2 division champ" more than her winning this weekend?

Holly is definitely  a boring air punching point fighter, she's also got good footwork and ring craft but I just hope the fight will be exciting to be honest.

Oh, cool - reading through the booking and running orders for live events it's pretty amazing how all of that is coordinated. If the viewer could see just what goes on to get events to air, they'd probably be pretty amazed.

The more I think about the fight, and see de Randamie in the previews, think the Dutch will be celebrating on Sunday morning. Don't think Holm will be able to outpoint her, as such. Going GDR, round 4 TKO. Main card is decent, in the UK this weekend so might actually manage staying up rather than getting up for a card.

Surprising. From what I'd read previously they were going with a title shot for Rory in June. But yeah, hyped. Guessing it'll be for a shot at Lima. I'm really glad Rory took a year off, excited to see him come back.

MVP is an odd one, I can't decide whether he is the real deal or not. Hope they don't feed him to Koreshkov in the meantime ... maybe Ward or Honeycutt.

Shes technically an excellent fighter but she'll make a career from one spectacular win.

Im being a bit unfair with Machida he had some good wins, im just bitter over the Shogun "victory" but thats not his fault.

The Daley v Rory fight is gonna be ace, im really looking forward to that.

Machida? Seriously? he's one of the best fighters of all time. Considering he's a true middleweight he managed to win the light heavyweight belt and beat every top rated fighter at the time while doing so. Had he come to middleweight earlier there's no doubt in my mind he'd have won the belt.

Weidman however. Yeh, good fighter but his hype was entirely built on beating past their prime fighters; anderson, munoz, machida, sakara, belfort. He's fought two people his own age ever.

Youre probably right and i did say i was being unfair with that comment. Im not trying to troll or anything but hes nowhere near my best ever list.

Personal preference there. I was never the biggest GSP fan at the time (some of those wins... ouch) but I know he's up at the top or there abouts. You've GSP, Fedor, Anderson, BJ Penn even though he's nerved his own legacy at this point. Jon Jones would probably beat them all but my thing with Jones is he's always fighting guys he has a massive weight / reach / size advantage over. The one time he fought someone his own size he lost.

I dunno why Spike/C5 have got so slow at showing Bamma fights. The programme tonight is the Dublin card from mid-December! It's bad enough having a week delay for Bellator (Saturday events anyway). Having said that I love that French guy (can't spell his name, Duquesnoy?) so I'll be watching, he'll be in the big leagues soon surely.

Finally watched the Bamma from December, decided to see what Duquesnoy is up to now - it was the final fight of his contract and he signed with the UFC a couple of weeks ago. Hyped!

Looking forward to tonight too, apart from the iffy main event it's a solid card.

Theres loads of potentially good fights Miller/Poirier in particular im looking forward to. Hilm is gonna get Ko'd in round 2 i reckon, Jacare by sub and Brunson by KO round 1 or Silva by ko round 1 countering Brunsons bullrush.

A guy, Paul McBain, who is based out of the same gym i train at (hes also the nephew of one of my friends) is fighting at Cage Warriors in Ireland at the start of March. So good luck to him.

Holms to lose - even though she's my fav female fighter.

Heart says anderson to win, head says anderson gets decisioned.

Same with Glover but he'll likely get ko'd.

This card has the potential to put me in a good mood on sunday but it's been a while since I fighter I wanted to win actually won.
