To be honest one of the biggest dick moves I've seen from them so far is Rousey being excused media duty this week. The fact that the company owners also represent individual fighters is the most flagrant example of a conflict of interest I've ever seen.

Remember the heat UFC gave Mcgregor for not doing media duties.

She negotiated it though, he tried to avoid what he signed for.

Still feels unfair.

Anyhow do you guys think the fight will go?

I see Nunes swarming, getting tossed and tapped.Or Ronda  overreacting, over extending and then being KO'd.

Think the former but will be dancing around our front room if it's the latter. Rousey is a mardy diva and the sooner the next wave of female stars are given the spotlight, the better.

what makes the Rousey fight interesting is her terrible reaction to the loss - nothing would surprise me in terms of result, when she was focussed her skills were very impressive and steam rollered everybody, then along came Holm. How will she react to getting hit again ? I can't make a prediction stand up on basis of logic as think her mental state is what makes the outcome of this fight.

aren't all of you bemoaning the new owners and talking of the old days the same lot who always bemoaned the Fertitta's & Dana White over fighter pay, no unions, reebok etc ?

Hendricks not looking good in this, he appears to be unable to stand

That's exactly what I'll be tuning in for, hoping Nunes can stuff any early takedowns and land a few bombs like she did on Tate. Nunes is a nasty, scrappy fighter with more than enough to rattle a potentially mentally unstable opponent, just hope she doesn't get overawed by the occasion and is able to do so.

That's not to diminish what Rousey has achieved in MMA and impressed at the shape she's in, largely dislike the overreaction she had to a loss, probably as a result to being surrounded by sycophants and toads that told her every single thing she did was golden.

But at the same time its not completely surprising that the loss affected her so much because anybody who's followed her career knows she's a super super competitive person. Also this isn't her first loss or even her first big loss (she didn't win gold in the olympics after all).  Her arrogance and confidence always seemed to come from a place of insecurity. And after getting embarrassed, all of those insecurities most have come rushing back.

I think thats pretty much spot on Tofu. Ive heard comparisons with how Connor reacted to his Diaz loss and Ronda with hers. Which i understand but they seem unfair as Connor almost had nothing to lose in that fight whereas Rousay had everything to lose and she thought she had. Which is a fucking awful feeling to have.

love that Dana White interview - they really need to keep doing these as they make the sport seem so much more accessible, I hate airbrushed comms that most big sport offer, Dana shooting from the hip and calling out fighters for turning down fights he offered them is great stuff

I have the utmost respect for sufferers of depression, however im always suspicuous of sports stars who use the word in relation to results or losing. She build herself up with the media, she was unbearably arrogant by the end, very rude, disrespectful, ill mannered and coarse. What Ronda suffered was losing a fight by believing her own hype, I don't see the result of that as depression...I see it as consequences, karma, the inevitable rise and fall of people who become arrogant. I'm sure she was really fucked off by it and there was a backlash, but has she spent a year on antidepressants since? Does she get genuine panic attacks? I dont believe either of those are true, and it's a pretty serious misuse of the word, and quite disrespectful to genuine sufferers. She was exposed, humbled, defeated, almost humiliated. She suffered those, not depression.

She probably has unaddressed mental issues since her father committed suicide.I'm not a fan either but her behavior might not be coming from a clear and logical place at times. As a sufferer myself, I don't believe she is lying, its been well documented in her book that she was suffering for a while, and that MMA was her escape and ultimately defined her self worth.

Well I'll bow to your knowledge as I've not read her book (assuming she's telling the truth), but yeah the father thing is a good point. But still, the loss shouldn't be labelled the cause of the depression, it was her building herself up and being knocked down that caused it. She makes some clear mistakes too in the way she behaves, she focusses way to much on negativity, and she surrounds herself with some serious idiots (Tamzarian etc) and stubbornly refuses to go to a proper camp. Imagine how good she'd be if some real trainers got their hands on her.  Oh and she's quite happy to inflict insults and attack others but complain when she herself has a hard time. One of the best things about Holm beating her was how she did it, with class, serious technical abilities, such good movement as to make Ronda look clumsy, then precision striking to finish. She treated it like a contest, where Ronda has to hate her opponent and be rude about them. She was calling Holly a fake, getting in her face, the Australians hated Ronda and they basically invented sledging.

That was absolutely brilliant. Cruz even called him being a 'self perceived savage' (I called it a fake ghetto attitude in my posts earlier) before he started throwing chairs lol

Talk about having someones number.

Man, I don't know whether to feel sorry for Hendricks or just think he's a fucking tool. The guy was roiding when he fought GSP and using IVs. Without either he's 2-3 and missed weight 4 times.

The guy isn't a middleweight either so it's like dude. I mean, look at him next to Rockhold!

Felt sorry for him doing that presser all messed up but when he missed weight all I can think of is Rumble made 170. Rumble Johnson! the man mountain who could easily mix it up at heavyweight. Anderson Silva fought at 170 and (this is going back) joe riggs was a super heavy who fought at 170 - that guy was an absolute unit too. He knows these people exist right? and they dwarf him.
