It was her first random test, she was caught midcycle, she had previously been tested while training for fights during her camp, she hadn't been tested since September. I imagine she had turned down those fights because she believed that that would come with drug testing during camp like it had for the past seven months since she's competing in the UFC. I imagine USADA was skeptical at her turning down the fights so they sent someone over to hit her with a random drug test and this is what came of it she finally busted

She's apparently claiming for a retroactive therapeutic use exemption for the substance, spironolactone. Just so happens to also be a masking agent.

They could soon have a 'comeback card' featuring post-ban main events, headed by Cyborg, Jon Jones and Lesnar.

Spironolactone  is used by competitive athletes and bodybuilders for very specific short-term reductions in water weight, Spironolactone is readily by weight class competitors in order to make their required class weigh-ins.

The effects of Spironolactone on female users, especially those taking anabolic steroids, are particularly beneficial with regard to its anti-androgenic properties. Since Spironolactone literally reduces androgen levels, women can stave off the androgenic side effects sometimes experienced during the use of more potent anabolic steroids, or during anabolic cycles in which greater dosages of steroids are being used.

She is an idiot but she will just comeback in a year and take over that division. Like Bones will at light heavy. She maybe a cheat but she is still the best fighter in her weight class.

Plus after the Romero and Means cases its always worth waiting to see what USADA does here. Jones was given 1 year instead of 2 for his "dick pill" excuse. Whilst Machida got the book thrown at him for being honest.

This is quite delicious timing, to be honest.

Isn't it just?

I hope she retires off the back of this, then she gets to stay in the GOAT conversation for successive generations. Unlike the Fedors, Silvas and GSPs of this world who took some bad licks later in their careers.

Also, leaving Dana with a total white elephant 145lb division too. Obv.

Had a search and it's like cris cyborg didn't even exist pre HGH. The only pic I could find is below during an amateur kickboxing match - so I'm guessing she's early 20's before she hit the HGH like mad.

Sad tbh. She used to be quite attractive.

I see Nate Diaz has been talking and reckins he wants 20 million for his next fight. I am a fan but I think hes a bit deluded with that figure. Yeah he drew a big number for the MacGregor fights, but he was on a pretty poor run before that iirc and has never fought for a title again iirc if im wrong then apologies but beating Connor has gone to his head it seems

He might sound it but he's no fool. He's just making the absolute most of it while his stock(ton) is high following the Conor fights.

He knows full well he'll get nowhere near $20m but he drove a hard bargain for the rematch (even convinced Dana to let him give him a Stockton slap on camera ffs ) & he's never gonna settle for the absurd 50&50 or whatever it was that he was on previously. He's a big draw now no doubt so even though he won't bank as much as he'd ideally like & the $20m is just a silly number he's thrown out there, I still hope he squeezes them for every cent he can get. He could name his price for the trilogy fight if it ever happened, that's for sure & I don't think he gives a shit about any belt either.

I'm interested to see what Nate gets. The cynic in me thinks that he's naive, and that he fades away without Conor's radiance to bask in.

I'd love to see a genuine star born, but MacGregor vs [Blank] is what gets the money. I haven't really heard anyone not called Nate Diaz talking about Nate Diaz.

If anything, Nate's real contribution has been the establishment of the first commandment of Conor: "Rematch? Only if I lose."

It would be hilarious if the first show starts with both fighters coming in under 145.

Kinda not his fault, some sympathy, but I don't think anyone ever gets their hopes up on him fighting. I just assume he'll drop out and it's a nice surprise if I see him on the actual event.

No i dont think he does care about the belt and hes doing the old trick of putting out a big number hoping to settle for say, half of it. And i agree about getting as much as possible its just he has no leverage in my opinion, no one cares about seeing him fight to be brutally honest. I'll sound like a hater but he shouldnt even have won TUF, Manny Gamburian was dominating until he dislocated his shoulder. Im a fan of both Diazs but the general public couldnt care less.

not a defence of him but if Barnett was a PED user from the old days he's unlikely to have gained the mentality and work ethic to fight clean in his late 30s when everything gets more difficult

embedded vids are great as always, my continued intense dislike for team alpha midget grows with every passing scene so hope Cruz stuffs Cody, even Cody's girlfriend seems a grade A entitled arsehole too.

Another one firmly in the Cruz camp, hope he gives Team Alpha Male's hoard of hobbits even more reason to cry salty, salty tears.

Really, really hope Nunes retains against Rousey too. Credit to Rowdy though, she at least looks in a lot better shape than she did her last fight. Keen to see Nunes land a big shot to see if it gives the scowling one flashbacks to Melbourne or just stokes her fire.

Kinda surprised with that news. He gets plenty stick, some deserved sime not so much but hes part of the team for me. Rogan wont be far behind, hes been more critical of the UFC lately but just a guess on my part.

Less surprised at Barnett failinf a PED test, i really like him as a fighter and a human, anyone with a warhammer 40k tattoo is ok by me.

I used to be a Faber and by extension TAM fan but hes a bit of a cunt Uriah sonetimes and they all seem superwholesome but slightly fake and a bunch of nearly men/woman (pvz is still there?).

We are definitely witnessing decisions being made that are going to put the UFC on the slide for a good five years. So many people have been fired at this point who've been cogs in the sport getting big. This is what happens when a bunch of yuppie twats take out a loan to buy a company they know fuck all about.

I said this at the time in here, the Fertittas arent daft, the growth was going to stop, almost all of the new owner decisions have been terrible, the post fight stuff these days stinks (individual mini pressers, no Dana), all of these fighter unions are cancelling each other's legitimacy out, Conor's on a break etc, fighters speaking out left right and centre. If Ronda loses we might get 6 months of struggling on and they sell it on at a loss (possibly to the Fertittas who can proclaim themselves saviours of MMA again).
