Sage taps at the 1st sign of trouble, even without the throat infection. He's just not UFC calibre. Gall doesn't look great either, and he's calling out Dan Hardy who even GSP couldn't submit?  These young pups, honestly.

Mate all you talk about in this thread is the fighter's inability to promote themselves. Gall is one who actually gets it and you're on his back too!

I though Gall's self promo attempts were a bit embarrassing, he's trying but comes across as nervous and shifty whilst doing it, you need to sound full of confidence and arrogantly call somebody out, not do it as an afterthought whilst nervously bouncing around with your eyes darting all over the shop.

that said from a career perspective Gall has leveraged what talent he's got very quickly, for now he should be sticking to lower down the card fighters with a similar level of experience to him, not calling out a bloke who went 5 rounds with peak GSP.

bad night for the UFC and their pretty boy/girl fighters

All I talk about? Thats a tad unfair, but I take the point..and Galls promo work is good, I've not knocked that. I just thought he'd have looked better last night in the fight.

His corner are racist too and he defended them a few months back. Not a great start to his early UFC career.

It's all fake bravado nonsense. Just be yourself. Unless that is him being himself, in which case it's going to be lol worthy watching him get smashed for the next five years.

Standard alpha male bravado nonsense, to be a fighter, you often need to be a bit of an arse.

Dec 30th will be perfect (speaking of arses) if Ronda and Garbrandt both lose horribly, fingers crossed!

Garbrandt is trailer trash though, he really is ghetto. That neck tattoo, jesus wept. He still hasnt grasped that to knock Cruz out you need to hit him, all the KO power in the world is no good when you cant land. I hope Cruz picks him apart and subs him in the 5th, then ultra trolls him rather than kiss and make up.

Garbrandt's "who have you beat ?" to Cruz did make me laugh. What a fucking idiot.

Happy for Faber. Nice win in his home town to go out on. He has by all accounts been smart with his money and has his health. Good time to get out. Think Pickett retires after a fight on the London card. Sad to see more of my favourite WEC guys retiring. A few years back it was watching Pride guys hang the gloves up. Getting old tbh.

Main and Semi Main. Well I'm sure Paige will come back. She is scrappy and very young. Still learning the game. Sage I think needs to get out of Texas and find a top gym. There is talent there but he makes some dumb mistakes at times. Needs better sparring and a decent BJJ teacher.

Perry losing was enjoyable. He seems a total scumbag.

Garbrandt: "I'll eat everything you got"

Gabrandt; the guy wears eyeliner, his mums a guidance councilor and his dads an unknown. I feel like half of these types (gabrandt, Perry) should be given a street level tour of stockton with the Diaz brothers so they stop being so fake.

Wow - thought Michelle would be too small for this division but I am really impressed with that performance. Surprised PVZ was able to fight the RNC off as long as she did. That body triangle is horrific if you've ever been in that position.

If the body triangle is done right it hurts your spine and messes your breathing up so much by itself nevermind while someones trying to choke you.

Holm Vs De Randamie announced for 208 in Feb, will be at 145 and for the new Featherweight Championship. Good move as gives UFC a few options (and a place for Cyborg to fight without wrecking herself cutting weight)

Imagine if (when) Rousey beats Nunes, Dana will be pining for Holm to win at 208 and set-up a rematch with Rousey, which gives the latter the option to become a 2-weight champion (and steal some of McGregor's thunder). Lots of ifs and buts, just hope all roads eventually lead to Cyborg Rousey in the tail-end of 2017.

Its a good idea having the 145lb womens division. But im not into Holm getting a title shot after her current run of defeats. Cyborg should be in that intial match up, surely shes going to demolish Holly should Holly win the belt?

A 125lb womans weight class would be good to, JoJo looked awesome in that fight and smashed LeTourneau whose excuses afterward were pretty lame.

Agree Holm is lucky to get a shot on form but guess they had a shortage of active names to pin a co / main event on, or that we're willing to move up (Holm has fought at heavier weights in boxing). Plus, her beating Rousey still makes her one of the most recognisable women fighters.

125 would be good too, 115 to 135 is too much of a gap, and would hopefully reduce aggressive cuts from fighters better suited to the flyweight range.

cyborg says she cant make 145 with 8 weeks notice and turned it down, she may not even fight for it ever.

Holms is brill. Decent attitude and skillset. She'll (hopefully) be a great champ at 145. Well, for the brief amount of time she has the belt until Cyborg gets a shot.

stop saying Holms mate, it's Holm :P

Cyborg claimed her last cut made her anemic, so she wants to fully recover before fighting st 145.

Her full statement:

In my last weight cut I almost died. I was in the bathtub cutting weight, and I thought, ‘I will die in this bathtub.’ It was the worst weight cut in my life. My nutritionist George Lockhart, who, by the way, is a UFC employee, didn’t do an effective job with this birth control pill he indicated saying that would help me. But thank God, in a war, I made weight, cutting 24 pounds in a week. My body was retaining a lot of water. The last time I spoke with George Lockhart was in the locker room before my fight. He disappeared after the fight. I’m not working with him anymore.

For the first time I didn’t warm up in the locker room like I do for every fight because I was too weak. I was just praying for God and went for the fight, and, once again, God gave me the victory. After all this, I went back to my hometown on Sunday and I felt sick on Sunday. My mother gave me tea and I fell asleep. The next day, like I always do after my fights, I did blood tests to see if everything was okay after a terrible weight cut. And for the first time, the nurses couldn’t take my blood, it was so thick it wouldn’t come out, so we couldn’t do tests. I was in treatment for 10 days with Dr. Ulisseia. I was in observation because I was feeling sick all the time.

You can see that I give no interviews after the fight. I told UFC Brazil PR Lilian (Caparroz) that I wanted to cancel all my interviews and couldn’t travel. After all that, at home, I decided I would not fight at this weight anymore, that I would only fight at my division. And only with 12 weeks’ notice. For my last fight, they told me eight weeks before.

I got a call from the UFC offering me another catchweight fight, and I said I would not fight at this weight anymore. I needed a break to get my health back to normal because my body was weak, I was anemic.

After that, they invited me to fight again, but this time at my weight and for the belt, but with 10 weeks’ notice. Knowing that I was recovering, like I said, I told them I can fight anyone in March, but I need to take care of my body, and no mention of the fact that I’m dealing with severe depression and can’t have another brutal weight cut like before. This decision is more important than the belt or the division, I’m thinking about my health.

I thank my fans. We did it! I’ll soon be fighting in my division, where I’m the world champion. You and God are loyal. I’ll be ready to fight in March.

Sounds like all sensible stuff to me. UFC have treated her pretty badly in my opinion, she knows she's a draw so why not bring it back onto her terms?

The title fight is an odd call, seems like UFC are insistent on every PPV having a title headliner by hook or by crook but when you a) do stupidly stacked PPVs with 2 or 3 title fights and b) let your champs take their sweet time defending, you are always gonna be left with scraps at low points. It's just bad planning. Holm as a former champ (at a lower weight admittedly) I can buy, but I have genuinely no idea who Germaine De Randamie is. Would have been better off bringing back Coenen from the weird Bellator no-womans land.

To be fair he looked stuck so tapping out wasn't terrible. No point in just sucking up damage for no progress.

I think she meant trying to cut to 135lbs. She can't and that's why her body shutdown. She's been the champ at 145lbs since Gina Carano fought but they didn't give her a shot purely because they know she'll win. They need to get some eyes on the 145 division and Holm (I so so wanted to put an 's') has main stream attention because of the ronda win. I don't like her chances at all against Cyborg - She hits like a bloke, and that's not a dig it's what her training partners say.
