The speed of thought for Cub to throw a cartwheel kick in the midst of a chaotic fight like that is why ive been a huge fan of his for years.

Bisping v Rockhold was great for sure, but too short for FotY for me. Upset of the year/ever certainly

Mad to have a rematch 13 years after the first fight too. Has there been a longer gap?

Actually while I was writing that I remembered Shamrock/Gracie 3, but whether you can call that a fight I don't know.

Having said that I doubt it will happen, BJpenn.com is a proper clickbait site.

Yeah its a long time since then and Lawler has put a good few miles on his clock compared to Nick in the interveneing years. But hes improved more than Diaz has aswell so it'll be interesting to see what happens should it occur. I was hoping itd be Penn/Diaz rematch cos i'd love to see BJ get pummelledbagain.

BJ Penn makes me all kinds of sad. He could have been the GOAT but discipline and punching waaaay above his weight got in the way. God knows why he thought he could beat GSP after the first loss. Never mind his last four fights where he got totally stomped.

Reminds me of Randy when he was about to hang them up but suddenly decided he could compete with Machida. We all know how that turned out.

Holm Vs De Randamie announced for 208 in Feb, will be at 145 and for the new Featherweight Championship. Good move as gives UFC a few options (and a place for Cyborg to fight without wrecking herself cutting weight)

Imagine if (when) Rousey beats Nunes, Dana will be pining for Holm to win at 208 and set-up a rematch with Rousey, which gives the latter the option to become a 2-weight champion (and steal some of McGregor's thunder). Lots of ifs and buts, just hope all roads eventually lead to Cyborg Rousey in the tail-end of 2017.

I never thought about 2 weight champion like that. No one will buy it though, say what you like about Conor, he beat a murderers row to get his, Rousey beating Nunes and Holm isn't the same. I think Cyborg absolutely splats Rousey too, probably a good deal to do with her retirement talk.

Agree, think Cyborg runs through Rousey but would enjoy it all the more if Rowdy's hype train is steaming forward again like it did prior to Holm turning her world upside down.

Interesting Fight Night this weekend, VanZant Vs Waterson, Pickett Faber and Northcut against Gall. Should be lively.

VanZant is one of the potential crossover stars the UFC currently has (she's already done Dancing with the Stars and finished as a runner-up) Didn't realise she was only 22, so all being well has a long career ahead of her. Plus, there's that KO from earlier this year.

Everyone says that but I don't think she is all that fit. I mean she's fit, but she's not very pretty. Sounds silly to discuss in an MMA thread but Gaudelha, say...now she is fit. Even Waterson is nicer than Vanzant. No one tops Miesha Tate though, cor blimy she's lush.

Got a soft spot for Jo Jo Calderwald and Karolina Kowalkiewicz. But yeah Miesha is lovely, comes across pretty well on Rogan too, very chilled. Well, better there than she did on TUF when she and Ronda went back to high school sniping.

But that's all a bit reductive. Women's divisions have come on leaps and bounds in the last couple of years, added bonus that the skills are matched with some good looks I guess.

Oh yeah, of course, please don't take it as me dismissing their skills, purely just noting who I like fitness wise. I have huge soft spots for JoJo and KK too, the latter in particular is really attractive, and a great fighter. I think she came off far better than Johanna did too in their exchanges, her stock went up even losing. But yeah, that week of weigh ins and embeddeds she looks fantastic.

Wasn't directing that at you angel :) more at the first part of my previous post.

KK is another star in the making. Absolutely love how she is cool as ice in the Octagon before a fight, just a picture of calm leaning against the fence without a care in the world. She'll get her rematch, so hopefully she can step up again. Although she still has a way to get to JJ, at least the 4th round of their fight showed she has the ability to rock the champion. JJ is an animal, just so intense. Got that nasty streak when she needs it. Really, really like watching her fight, and she comes across well post-fight once the dust has settled.

On a side note, not sure if kickboxing gets much airtime in the UK, but our channels out here in the Land of Sand just started showing Glory. Rico Vs Badr was on the weekend, the atmosphere for the main event was intense. Match didn't quite pan out as hoped due to an injury, but a rematch was more or less confirmed in the ring, well worth keeping an eye on in the New Year.

I find him a bit of a berk too, happy to hang around with yes men and lacks heart once he knows hes losing.  No class post fight either. "Go to bjpenn.com", leaves.

I agree with this, great fighter no question, just find him kinda cuntish.

And.....Waterston>Gadelha>Rousay>Tate>JoJo>PVZ

I think Waterston will win by dec, Gall by sub and Pickett by dec.

I wish theyd let Brad Picket wear his hat/braces combo

In the cage?

I see faber winning by massive poke then TKO.

Man, the Faber fight, snore. I know he's a pioneer but the forced speech at the end, fighters just cant do this stuff well, neither can the announcers. Never mind all the gushing thank yous (goldie seems to think he's Jesus), I'm just not a fan of a 37 year old man wearing a baseball hat and everyone calling him kid, and he couldn't even finish a shot Pickett.

Cody Garbrandt is a berk too in the interview with Cruz, he's so dim. He would make a terrible champ, he's thick as pig shit.

Sage taps at the 1st sign of trouble, even without the throat infection. He's just not UFC calibre. Gall doesn't look great either, and he's calling out Dan Hardy who even GSP couldn't submit?  These young pups, honestly.
