They'd still fight, he'd just forfeit 20% of his purse to Cerrone (which he is allowed to hand back, and he might, it's been done before).

Seems a bit of a duff match up really, not exactly setting the world on fire, nothing against Gastelum who I quite like.

I don't think it's signed yet is it? Same goes for a few fights on that poster.

To be fair to Gastelum he looked great against Hendricks. Lawler is clearly the dream fight but it can wait; maybe even as a title eliminator early next year (assuming Cerrone stays unbeaten and Maia gets the next immediate title shot).

No, just strongly hinted at by Rogan on his fight companion, about as strongly as you could do without saying it. Probably a few changes along the way too, but if it somehow made it through...that is some opener in MSG. Quite surprised Ronda isn't trying to get on it too, or even GSP or Jones (who looks like he maybe could be cleared by then).

I do hope MSG actually looks like a unique venue after they deck it out with all of the UFC stuff, it'd be nice for it to feel like the UFC entering the halls of some of the prestigious fight events from down the years, rather than being looking virtually-identical to the Quicken Loans Arena and suchlike.

Thats a fan made poster for any people wondering. Fucking good one but not real.

GSP won't have cleared his 4 month USADA drug testing in time for be cleared to fight in NY. Ronda is off doing god knows what. IMDB has her acting career on hold. I think maybe she is done tbh. Jones would love to be on this but he is still trying to "tainted supplement" his way past his failed drug test.

I must be wrong, I thought GSP had started his 4 month USADA with that card in mind. It's pretty stacked without him anyway, touch wood on the Alvarez/Conor fight and no injuries for the rest. There was that story last month about Jones too having some good news coming soon, as if he was working on sneaking out on a 6 month ban.

A bit of captain obvious here but Ronda and Browne need to get out of Glendale right now and into a proper team.

Didn't even Ronda's mum unleash a scathing verdict on Tarverdyan? There are better places for her, and out of the top gyms which one wouldn't jump at the chance to coach her if and when she decides to come back?

Really hoping McGregor Alvarez does come to fruition. As good as the Diaz fights were, no need for a decider just yet (can be a fallback option for both them and the UFC at a later date), and more exciting (and enticing) to see what McGregor can do at LW Vs someone other than Diaz, given the 145 cut is likely too much for him now. But vacate the FW title, which I imagine will be the first thing he does post-205, if he does indeed fight Alvarez and win.

Yeah, the guys a total fraud. Aside from all the actual fraud, wife beating, etc etc he doesn't even have a decent mma background. Tarverdyan is 2-0 against two guys with a combined losing record of 6-22!

Dana has suggested on twitter its Alvarez vs Khabib at 205. Khabib saying its almost a done deal. Conor tweeted out "Beg me..".

So probably more backstage arguing with Conor again, like 200. Sounds messy.

Mickey Gall has challenged Sage Northcutt to a Hair vs Hair match as well. That feud is getting amusing.

I suspect that the UFC refused to budge on the 145lb belt issue.

Dana can be an arse as we all know but I'm tired of Conor's antics too, who to beg him...Dana, Alvarez? Conor is playing with fire.

Conor is crippling 145, he doesn't want to defend so there isn't a money fight. He doesn't want to give up the belt so it stalls the whole division, fighters are unable to win the belt and renegotiate their contracts for higher pay.

He's been doing it for ages, but it reinforces his 'bigger than divisions, bigger than belts' narrative.

I think that a LW title fight, if he got it, would be must win for him to maintain his momentum. That is, unless he's now enough of a name that he could lose a couple on the bounce and people would just watch him like they do big name boxers.

If Khabib gets the shot, surely he wins? That's a much more anticlimactic fight, as he's the best LW around, but not the best for box office. They've probably been happy to keep him away from the belt for as long as they have.

Conor vs Aldo II. Conor said he's 'already beat him ' but so fucking what? you can't wonder around with the belt for the rest of time not defending it. Can you imagine if Dos Santos said that to Cain or Liddell to Randy?

GSP has said he'd like to fight either Woodley, Diaz or Lawler. I just want to see all these guys fight at this point. Stop gobbing off. As Glover said, if you truly are the best in the world you let your skills do the talking.

I think Conor is so obsessed with the idea of being a 2 weight champion it's spiralled way out of control. It would have been relatively practical had the original plan panned out (RDA in March) but a lot's changed since then. You can't expect a division to wait around while you faff around with 3 vanity fights, however much they draw. Even if they did let him keep the FW title temporarily and go after Eddie, I guarantee he'd be angling for a WW title shot if he won.

Conor would certainly hold all the cards if he had two belts. Imagine the UFC trying to bargain with him then ha.

GSP conveniently started his USDA testing so he'd be ready for the canada card. How about that. ;p

Ooh. Jedrzejczyk vs Kolwalkiewicz at 205 now too. That will be a banger.

So hyped for this one, think JJ takes it but Karolina has got heart and skills to ask her a few questions, could be a hell of a scrap.

Love that. Fucking Goldie, what a chump.

Anyway, I'd actually be totally fine with no LW title at 205. The card is stacked as it is:

Lyman Good vs. Belal Muhammad

Liz Carmouche vs. Katlyn Chookagian

Tim Boetsch vs. Rafael Natal

Frankie Edgar vs. Jeremy Stephens

Thiago Alves vs. Jim Miller

Miesha Tate vs. Raquel Pennington

Donald Cerrone vs. Kelvin Gastelum

Rashad Evans vs. Tim Kennedy

Karolina Kowalkiewicz vs Joanna Jedrzejczyk (UFC strawweight champion)

Stephen Thompson vs. Tyron Woodley (UFC welterweight champion)

:omg:
