The first three ( Couture vs Liddell, Shamrock vs Tito, and Penn vs Pulvar) we're superb - Remember Andy Wang? :D after that it took a massive dive until maybe the Kimbo one - which apparently resulted in an off screen beat down sparked by some racist comment.

The most recent TUF was pretty underwhelming at times. None of the fighters were interested in fitting the MTV-style fractious house the series still tries to push (that lark peaked with the Rousey and Tate season).

The coaches, Joanna Jędrzejczyk and Claudia Gadelha, laboured with some pre-fight trash-talking, understandably struggling in their second languages. This also had an impact on the coaching, with JJ in particular being pretty distant with her stable throughout. Great fighters don't always make great coaches.

I'm with Angel, would rather see a more in-depth training camp, maybe a fuller Embedded series or, if they must, keep the 'win a contract' format but drop the forced shenanigans.

UFC could do with a few new TV formats to fill some hours on Fight Pass, probably some good opportunities with the takeover. To the ideas shed!

Decent-ish event.

Spoilers just in case.

I'm glad to see Gus get a win. He's had some serious wars in his last 5 outings so it's nice to see him play it smart.

Josh Barnett is in a strange position. Dana has made it clear he doesn't like him. Barnett has already been the champ but failed four drug tests (wtf). What do they do with him at this point?

Still plenty of decent fights for him if they want to keep him away from the belt. Probably Struve or Lewis next (easily loseable fights, and if he gets through them then the upper tier of Cain/JDS/Werdum etc would likely eat him up) and Arlovski relegated to Nelson or Mir. I like AA, it's mad what a crap year he's had. 4/5 fights ago he looked unstoppable.

Why can't stuff like this happen to me. -.-

Alvarez has been trashing Conor recently, would be a fun build-up.

Hyped to see what Dana has up his sleeve. Guessing a GSP return is also on the cards?

George has only just started his 4 month drug testing period so he is not eligible for this card but I think he is good to go for the Toronto card in December.

They need McGregor for this if they want a huge main event. Rousey still looks a long way off coming back, GSP is not eligible and the likes of Brock and Jones are huge doubts unless they can bullshit their way past their failed drug tests.

We are due a sacrificial lamb to be fed to Cyborg to please the MMA gods. Let it be so.

I think some local guys like Weidman or Frankie will be involved in some way too.

Cyborg is fighting a sacrificial lamb called Lina Lansberg on a Fight Night in Brazil later this month. Don't think she would be ready to go again for November.

Ah okay, makes sense. And guaranteed numbers to save GSP's return for a Canada PPV.

Good few months ahead, HYPE!

Who could Weidman fight next? Winner of Bisping / Hendo? Not that I think he deserves it, he should fight Rockhold again I think.

I think alot depends on the time he can comeback from his neck injury. He did seem determined to fight on UFC 205 earlier in the year. Rockhold is getting over a knee injury too so its all abit messy.

Weidman vs Jacare or Romero would be beastly in the mean time.

#Pray4Lina

If anything, it's the weight cut rather than actual fight injuries that would prevent her from fighting again so soon. The video footage of her last cut was grim tbh. Hopefully it's not so tough this time.

There's talk that Rockhold is holding up for more money from the UFC. Which I think is great. Give us Weidman/Jacare for the next title shot, and let Rockhold fade into obscurity as a zero defense champ until he learns how much value he doesn't have. Yet,

Rockholds modelling and holding out for cash, he's back down to his 80/80 contract with no PPV points or champion bonus, and he's pissed off.

I would absolutely love to see Bisping beat Hendo and then beat Weidman. Purely because Weidman is so cocky for someone who I don't really think cemented a legacy as a dominant champ. He beat Anderson when he was clowning, and then checked a leg kick in a freak manner, neither was destruction of Anderson. Yet he thinks he's the greatest ever. Its a hell of a test for Mike, but just to shut up Weidman, imagine that double troll ammunition for Mike having beaten Rockhold AND Weidman.

I can't agree on Weidman at all. He's one of the best middleweights of all time, and I'd like to see if he had an off night against Rockhold, or isn't as good now.

Part of me hopes that he isn't, so the division stays in this crazy state of flux.

I don't think he's really fought enough high level opponents to be considered one of the best. Having said that, he was comfortably beating Rockhold until that daft spinning kick.

Up until Rockhold, nobody had made him look vulnerable. It's about as good a CV you get with so few fights in his career.

As far as MWs go, I doubt I could pick 3 better than him. Historically, it's never been as deep as it is now.

Fair point. I guess it's easy to forget how shit MW has been in the past, especially if you only include UFC fights.

Disregarding the Silva and Rockhold fights, Weidman looked great against Belfort and Machida. However I've always been a bit cynical as I was one of those who thought he got his title shot a little too early - I think he beat Maia and Munoz and that's pretty much it.

Don't get me wrong, he's a great fighter, but he absolutely will not give anyone credit for anything ever.

@angel

I agree with you whole heartedly on Weidman.

Would love bisping to dispose of Hendo and then Weidman. Great end to his career having beaten Anderson (just) and dispatching Rockhold.

It would be up there with the greatest streaks of all time, not so much in numbers, but names beaten.
