recall Robin Black being on Rogan a while back and Joe loved him

good to see Rogan has re-signed for another year with the UFC, scaled back role with no overseas trips and only the PPV cards. I thought he was going to walk away as whenever he talked about what he loves doing UFC commentary ranked down the list, he seems to enjoy the fight companions more than commentary, he's just not cut out to be a corporate guy and has found a way to carve his own thing out

Lawler may be a great fighter but this whole card is not going to sell, every fighter is so bloody dull in the embedded vids.

Also pleased about Rogan but it means he won't do Bisping Hendo 2, which is a shame.

Love Lawler, he's one of those people that doesn't need to scream and shout, but Woodley takes that a bit too far. You never know though, could be a barn burner once Robbie starts swinging. I know the UFC would be a bit sick if Woodley won it though, that's 2 boring champs they'd have to try and market (Nunes the other). Oh and Rose finally left Pat Barry, good, that was creepy.

Not hoping for him to win, no. But Lawler's survived by the skin of his teeth a few times now so this one could really go either way.

As for Rogan, I guess I'm one of the minority who aren't that bothered by him winding down. He's become a bit of a caricature, I certainly don't miss him at the moment when the B and C teams fill in for him, they're all very solid.

Rogan has no interest in working for anybody or doing anything for anybody else (its why he wasn't sure about renewing with the UFC, he likes doing his off grid fight companion podcasts just as much as commentary), his whole thing is being totally independent and doing what he wants to - its all he ever goes on about

I don't believe that either. Dana paid for one of his comedy tours.I do like Joe Rogan (regarding MMA and nutrition he's top) but he does talk a ton of bs in other areas; 9/11, ufos, one world government, gun laws and so on.

I'll be glad to see the back of him. Watching his transformation into Mini Dana over the years has been gruesome, and his supposedly liberal beliefs don't really jive with shilling for the anti-individual, pro-Republican UFC. Though his libertarian side would a bit, I suppose.

He's made an important contribution over the years, and is always informative about BJJ, but it's time for a new era and I like most of the other teams better. Also he's often incredibly biased to the point that a fight with the sound off is an entirely different experience.

Also send Goldberg packing. He's an embarrassment.

I'm a huge fan of Lawler but he needs to be carefull with Woodley before all the thoughts of Wonderboy or Maia fight. Lawler can be a slow starter and Woodley can hit really fucking hard. With how this year in MMA has gone it would depress me but not surprise me if Robbie got clocked.

For fucks sake....

Was that his first strike?

Some good matches open up now - most notably a Condit rematch and a Macdonald rematch.

Chuffed for Ellenberger - he's been on a terrible slide and finishing Brown is a huge feather in his cap.

Like Kowalkiewicz a lot, those knees! Think JJ will have too much for her though. Wonder if UFC will be tempted to take their title match to Poland?

Thought it was a pretty good main card overall, even with Freddy Serrano's weird takedown attempts. Nikita Krylov on the prelims worth a look too.

Oh its going to Poland for sure, Dave Scholler strongly hinted at it at the presser. Pleased for Tyron, warmed to him a bit with his performance and post fight interview, it's nice to have another articulate champ.

Just caught up with the full presser and the FOX after-interview (here - needs youtube unblocker) damn it's awkward, Wonderboy is on the panel and asks directly twice for his shot against Woodley. Underneath that American broadcaster style enthusiasm is quite a bit of bad blood already. Tyron wants money fights, he realises WB will be a problem, you can add him to the roster of new champs who are going to be tricky to sell to the public.

Do hope so, would be a crazy night. Feels like there's enough talent to do an all-female card at some point in the future too.

FIghters like Woodley have to realise  that the big money fights don't just meterialise  because you are champ, you have to sell them and create them.

Sure fighting skills win you the belt, but before you start demanding the big pay cheques have to ask what you've done to generate them. He's a nice quiet family man sure, but that doesn't necessarily convert into box office appeal.

That's true, this call for a Diaz or GSP fight is pretty hollow. GSP vs Anderson, sure. One of the Diaz brothers versus someone they have a beef with, yes please. The more I let it digest, the more I think the UFC will book him against Thompson in MSG or something.

Quite a short event tbh, mercifully after the padding of 200. I would skip Graves Velickovic, Masvidal Pearson and Perez Rivera. The rest are worth watching, quite a few finishes in there, and Benoit Serrano on the main card is hilarious.

Its the UFC's first British champions first defense.

Bisping begged for a huge homecoming fight in the UK.

Its not a Vegas quality main so why have it in Ohio or wherever was next on the US list of places to go. The gate will be bigger here.

The UFC still has hopes to expand here and the fact the red tops and sky have picked up this story is great news. Bisping will be all over sports media here selling this fight like a boss.

For me I can't wait. Getting tickets for this one, rest of the card looks good too.

Relatively easy enough for Bisping to train on a US schedule with blackout curtains installed at home and a shift in training times. Not ideal but manageable and guess it'd be worth the adjustment to have a home fight. Bisping seems like the sort of character that will just get on with it.

Bisping lives in California same as Hendo. Both will fly over 7 to 10 days before the fight and they will just keep the same sleep pattern.
