its the UFC, Dana White is just the figurehead essentially.

No that was definitely dana in the sherdog days. He went on a full mental rant about the sherdog thing twice (them not supporting the ufc exclusively) and got into trouble for calling some sherdog writer a cunt.

Apologies, I wasn't meant to be patronising. Its just that he's been doing this for long that I just don't think it makes sense what you said.

I honestly thought Fedor too.

Fedor is fighting in Russia in a few weeks against Maldonado, noway he would be ready.

Rumours are pointing to Mark Hunt, Bigfoot, Struve or Shane Carwin. Mir would have perfect if the idiot was not on a drugs ban.

Shane Carwin then I guess, there's no possible way they like Hunt near him. He get KO so fast.

Surprisingly, I'm still really buzzing for Bisping. It's perhaps the sport's biggest ever Cinderella story. Maybe Werdum/Fedor would be if people liked Werdum.

It would take the stars aligning in a series of very specific ways to even get him to a title shot, but to win when he got there? Outstanding.

2016: 4 European UFC belt holders. Bisping's fight record for the year: defeated Anderson Silva, defeated Luke Rockhold, 2-0 current title holder :)

He's got punching power when he doesn't over train too, I hope he sticks to that.

They'll probably go with Bisping/Wiedman next, but I'd love to see Jacare take on Wiedman in an eliminator. Give Rockhold Belfort again.

Makes zero business sense obviously, but I'm all for anything that extends Bisping's reign.

Wow, they really did it.

Hunt Vs Brock.

Awesome. Can't say I'm not rooting for a walk off KO, but props to Lesnar for taking a dangerous fight. Thought the UFC would give him someone "easier".

told you all to watch out for mike :)

It was surprising to say the least ,Bisping has never had KO power. Almost all his finishes come via TKO, from being better conditioned, and come from volume punching. Kinda exactly like Nick Diaz.He RARELY rocks people with single punches.

It's so weird how he is 37 and had his two best performances of his life against the GOAT and the reigning champ with two weeks notice.

Bet he's doing a few mil. Surprised he's taken it to be honest, definitely props to him for stepping up.

Definitely props for facing a dangerous striker. However, he is a division 1 national champion, so I  don't think he's standing and banging with Hunt:D

There'll always be the caveats of neither opponent exactly going 100%, but Bisping was smart enough to take advantage of that.

Brock vs Hunt is a big deal in many ways. Hunt doesn't get a title shot against anyone but Velasquez any time soon, I wouldn't have thought, due to previous losses. This is a big opportunity to become one of the new breed of Nate Diaz moneyweight fighters though.

Nobody can take a Hunt bomb, but if Brock isn't stupid he'll steamroll him immediately and go for the GnP. Hunt's wrestling looked improved against Werdum, but Brock's a different proposition.

I'd seriously just got done running through this scenario in my head when this popped up on Facebook:

Hunt will end this in the first round, Lesnar will come forward for a take down like he does and Hunt will put him out with the upper, you seen it here first

If not Hunt is heading to Suplex City.

Nearly half a decade out of the octagon is a ready-made excuse for Brock, but he'll need to fight a smarter game than he has in the past.

There's also always the chance that Brock doesn't give a flying fuck how the match goes as long as he gets his cheque.

I don't think Hunt has fought an honest-to-god wrestler since Chris Tuchscherer. Which is great booking by Joe Silva and co.

Stipe's got some Div 1 wrestling, I think, but it wasn't his main tool for beating Hunt up.

It also means that we don't know how Hunt fares against a high-level power wrestler these days either. Interesting stuff.

Never been all that much of a fan of Brock, I'd enjoy seeing Mark blast him then walk off. He just does it for the cash, 2 minutes win or loss and collect his 2 million. UFC going increasingly down the novelty fights route with this stuff now, the utterly pointless Diaz vs Conor, and removing journalists they disapprove of. They're becoming a bit of a joke these days tbh, took the shine off Mike's result.
