Yeah - outworking him is the only way. Volume over 5 rounds.

He easily outworked Silva, but largely down to Silva forgetting that it was a factor. He's hardly a decision fighter.

Also lightning strike or freak knee injury when Luke throws a dynamic kick.

I could see Bisping knocking him back with a punch but in terms of finishing bisping seems to out cardio his opponents until they just sort of fall over. I can't see that ever happening against rockhold - his gas tank is too good.

Rockholds gas tank too good? Not so sure about that, and I think he might take Mike too lightly, who swears he got the better of him in sparring.  I think its closer than people give him credit for.

Proper shit show in Bellator last night. The title fight between Carvalho and Manhoef was pretty poor (Carvalho had no interest in fighting and was fouling all over the shop) but the decision was even worse, what should have been 50-45 Manhoef somehow ended up a close split against him. The commentators were going mental, 'this is a black day for MMA' type stuff. Awful.

Well mayhem miller managed to lose in venator by sloppy 1st round choke, and mr dirty leg lock paul harris lost by round 1 TKO.    Chortle x2.

He missed weight by 24lbs woah!

Anyone else want Faber to win?

I'm not overly a fan of either but Faber has constantly tested himself, moved up and down weight classes, had a ton of fun fights, whereas Cruz is a boring decision machine - 13 decisions from 21.

Faber winning would set up a fight with Dillashaw and that has an awesome backstory with all the history between the two.

Cruz is kind of a dickhead but I hate Team Alpha Male so hoping Cruz wins.

Cruz for me. Hopefully. Faber hasn't been relevant for a while, he can consider himself pretty lucky to get this shot  - and win or lose, he'll get a shot at Dillashaw soon. Almeida/Garbrandt looks like a #1 contender shot to me.

Another for Cruz, I dont think Fabers quite the nerk he's made out to be, but he's not a force any more, pretty much gatekeeper status now. He's only getting a crack at Cruz because of this name and old rivalry, I don't see it being all that competitive. 50-45 decision for me.

Amazing to have an active heavyweight champ again (touch wood).

Yes!

Heavyweight champs who actually fight more than once every 2 years. We don't half have crazy expectations as fans.

Dom's a better wrestler than Faber - I'd probably go Rockhold by sub and Dom by decision. I think Cruz will really want to finish Faber, but he's a hard guy to put away for anyone, let alone Cruz.

Holloway/Lamas will be interesting. If Holloway puts on a good show, he's a very good argument for a FW title shot, should that belt ever matter again.

I see Lombard beating Hendo in a fight that probably shouldn't exist and won't tell us much whichever way it goes.

The odds of Bisping achieving anything at all in this fight are so infinitesimally small that I might just have to watch live.

In case a stray meteorite falls into Rockhold's temple during the fight, or something.

Oh yeah, I'm definitely watching for the upset.

But not because anyone who's paid a second of attention to the sport should have any reason to believe in Bisping.

Just because it'd be brilliant. A real watershed moment.

Rockhold came out with this when discussing Bisping/Anderson Silva - "Anderson is'nt on my level, he never was"

The smarmy twat hasent even defended his belt once yet.

Be hilarious if Bisping wins this.

I know that not many people with a decade in the game get put away by a one-arm guillotine due to dreadful sub defense.

Rockhold's like a different species to him.

Which is why it will be the UFC's most amazing moment if Bisping wins.

I agree Rockhold could, and its only a 'could' so far, be great, but we see this every time. Machida era, Weidman taking over, Aldo is unbeatable, Rousey is unbeatable.  Again and again. Bispings tough as nails and Rockhold is a complete nob (even on the embeddeds, he's awful), pulling for Mike on this big time.

Bisping would be Rockhold if he'd been able to back up his early shit-talk with diverse striking, great wrestling and a powerful sub game. Whilst being the size of a big LHW.

Bisping's been finished every way you can be finished - Rockhold's finished everyone every way you can finish someone.

I want Bisping to have his fairytale moment, and he's done his bit for the sport, but let's not forget that he's a cunt when it suits him too. He only turned babyface when he realised that nobody pays to see a bad guy get beaten for the 10th time.

(Also, Rockhold's already been beaten - he's not some unheralded prodigy. He's just gotten much, much better. He used. Can't wait to see MegaJacare take him on for Rd 2 though.)

I'm in the camp that can't see Bisping denting Rockhold (shame as I really don't warm to him) - Bisping always sounds like Louis Theroux doing wrestling promo's from his weird weekend show years ago when trying to hype the fight.

howevere big a dick Rockhold is I instantly forget about him the second Faber and his troop of muscled Oompa Loompas show up on the embedded videos, argh I just can't stand him and hope he gets humiliated by Cruz

Based only on gut instinct, can see the main being a bit of a slobberknocker. Rockhold is the superior fighter but Bisping has been round long enough to not get overwhelmed by the occasion. Think Rockhold wins a late TKO or a UD with plenty of cuts.

So, with my history of predicting any kind of sporting contest, suggest everyone heavily backs the champ winning in the 1st round!

Edit - oh and can't really pinpoint it but Faber just isn't likeable. Not that Cruz is either but something irks me about Faber. Cruz by UD.

I dont actually mind faber, he gets slated and I can see the reasons (I dont like his musclebound posse of bros and their wives), but he's quite the open book when asked about situations...TJ was the one that made things weird there, and Cruz is super abrasive towards him. I'm not so sure, he might be ok.

I'm still going for decision on saturday, whether mike can pull it out is debatable, but its far from 'the easiest title defence ever', as weidman bitterly commented from his sick bed. He plays the heel but that was put upon him by the UFC to expand the sport in the UK, he was tasked with making a name for himself so he did. Look at his brit contemporaries, the likes of Paul Kelly and you have to admire what he's accomplished.

Totally agree and I remember saying similar stuff when Holms fought Rousey "holms has no chance she hasn't shown us anything" etc. I was happy to be wrong. :)

A Bisping win might even topple Serra beating GSP as the biggest upset of all time.
