Without size advantage conor is a good, not great, fighter. I knew he'd lose tonight, it was classic ronda syndrome..all the focus on conors media personality and marketing, it was almost vulgar. Like cruz says, thats why weight classes are invented...fight at your weight. And like ronda proved, believing your own hype is death.

Decent watch, McGregor is pretty honest about his shortcomings, although a little hint of 'PPV mode' does creep in regarding the Featherweight division. 170 is clearly too much of a leap for him right now, but 155 still has a huge amount of interest once he's done with the Featherweight belt.

another cautionary tale for fighters who get too big for their boots - I don't think the defeat is as damaging for Conor as it was for Rousey, as he still has his belt. I thought he'd looked sluggish in the embedded vids, like he wasn't carrying the weight that well. He still looked decent but seemed to lack that snap he had when he gets shredded, and at the bigger weight his power didn't give him instant KO power (and the opponent is obviously banging harder).

recent events just go to show how hard it is in MMA to stay on a win streak, there are just so many ways to lose. The likes of Silva, GSP and Jones really need huge credit for their runs (even if in one of their cases it may have been somewhat assisted)

Pleased for Tate too, very gritty fighter and be interesting to see what they do next with her, she doesn't need a 3rd match with Rousey (who I think they'll give a warm up fight to) enabling a rematch for Holm.

Would like to see Holm Rousey II while Tate has a rematch with Cat Zingano. Don't think either Holm or Rousey should go straight to a title shot and there's still the PPV buys that would be interested in a Holm Rousey rematch (aka title eliminator, UFC might as well milk the interest if they're smart). Hell, have a co-main event with the four of them next, then put the two winners in the Octagon for the title later in the year.

Guess McGregor will be back to featherweight for UFC 200, although hope it's against Edgar rather than Aldo (and not a replacement). Either way McGregor's approach to the pre-fight hype will be interesting to see.

Dana has been saying November is when they expect Rousey back so I expect Holm vs Tate 2 in the mean time. UFC won't want to keep the title on ice for 8 months.

Feel for Conor. He needs to learn his lesson from this. There is seperate weight divisions for a reason and thinking you can just jump up two is madness in hindsight. He needs to learn some defense too, standing on the outside with his hands down eating shots at 145 might work but not at 170. Its scary to think what someone like Lawler or Wonderboy would do to him, guys with huge one punch power. I think its Edgar or Aldo next, both tough fights even if Conor did wreck Aldo last time. I'm thinking the UFC might want to do Aldo 2 at UFC 200 as theres more money in it which sucks for Edgar as he is well overdue a title shot.

Rousey back in November? Okay, scratch my fantasy booking! Guess in Dana's eyes the best possible outcome is Holm has the belt back for whenever Ronda does come back just to ramp up the hype a few more notches.

Rousey is now ready to go according to Dana. Her movie projects have been delayed. So we could see Tate vs Rousey and a Conor vs Aldo/Edgar fight at 200. Rousey and McGregor on the same PPV would be huge. There is a big rumour that GSP is coming back to fight Lawler going round atm. If thats on 200 as well it would do mental numbers. Maybe stick Punks debut on there as well.
