Bleurgh, rematches. Also, why would Weidman and Condit get a redo but not Aldo?

Anyway, good event on Saturday. I'm not really set on the result of the main event but generally speaking I think as a challenger more is asked of you, Carlos had to put it beyond doubt but unfortunately Lawler pulled it out of the bag in the final round.

Pretty good stuff on the rest of the card too (even the prelims). Felt bad for Arlovski, he's looked great since he came back so that must have been pretty crushing. Really glad to see Ortega and McDonald back as well, both insanely talented. And lastly Duffy/Poirier, pretty one sided in the end but how good would that have been in Ireland as the main event rather than a fight pass prelim? A real shame.

I sincerely hope that there's someone smart running the company while Dana's cunting around trying to make himself the star.

It's as if they've got this insane financial microclimate in the UFC, where the rich and powerful get more rich and powerful off of the backs of dozens of poor fighters who get fucked.

Dana has always reminded me of Doctor Infinity from eightball. He acts like he is doing these guys such a favour and has barely any regard for their personal health or safety or livelihoods. If some fighter get injured or doesn't make a cut because they had to go to hospital instead or something he seems to take it as a personal affront. And yet he is making a fucking mint of the back of their toil and effort. The modern economy/society in microcosm.

Dont forget Holms - Tate on the same card. It seems like we are going to be getting these huge cards on the regular now, especially that McGregor wants to fight 4 times a year between two divisions. All in all we could be looking at 20+ title defences for the UFC this year alone!

Mad, isn't it? Stakes are higher every time he fights. Well, maybe in a different way this time, because win or lose, he's going to fight Frankie Edgar at UFC 200. But if he wins? Fuck me.

In other news, Yoel Romero continues to do his absolute best to become the heeliest jesus freak in MMA:

This was great news to wake up to today. In terms of cheating he's really going all out, isn't he? In for a penny, etc. Stool-sitting, fence-grabbing, eye-poking, drug-taking arsehole. Hope the Jacare fight ends up a NC.

Pleased to read Romero got busted. Total twat of a fighter.

Unbelievable scenes.

I would like to see the size of conor compared to Dos Anjos on fight night because DA is a big beast. What do you reckon he weighs in at on the day?

Also any idea what weight Conor walks around at leading up a featherweight fight?

190lbs walk around weight (according to connor himself) which seems totally ridiculous, I'd guess 160lbs closer to fight time.

In the last week, there have been (potentially clickbait-y) stories about GSP fighting Connor, and Connor going to WW.

As amazing as he's been for promotion, I'm beginning to think that the best case scenario for 197 is a narrow RDA decision win. The downside is that you'd hold up two divisions as they book the immediate rematch, bit...

- It would help make RDA a star

- Connor needs a high-profile 'war' to win over people like me

- It wouldn't take much of Connor's shine as he'd still be a champ, and have given a bigger, dominant champ a run for his money.

As dumb as it sounds, I almost like the narrative of Frankie moving around weight classes to chase Connor down, but Dana always finding an excuse not to give it. It's very WWE, but so's Dana. And this only works if Frankie always wins and becomes consensus number 2 in multiple divs.

Good interview.

Very logically takes apart why the reebok deal is really bad for fighters without screaming bias.

'I'm offered a new contract which still adds up to less than I was on before the reebok deal'.

Nevermind the fact he's now beaten some names so has more value.

I've gone from thinking dana was an alright guy to thinking he is the biggest cunt in mixed martial arts. He's single handily strangling the sport he apparently 'wants to build'.

The Reebok deal plus fighters finding out they had lost their jobs on twitter sums up UFC today. Connor seemed to have a massive fight with them over money lately too.

Its not gonna be a rival that beats them I think it will be a fighter. Mayweather, ODLH, Hatton, Lewis, Haye, Calzaghe all figured in boxing fuck the middle man. Promote yourself. Some of the top guys will just break off or fuck the UFC of at some point.

Yep. In football, if a company sponsors a club they don't ban all other sportswear from players. Stuff like MM having to leave his Jordans outside and walking in barefoot brings more negative attention to Reebok than the lairiest pair of Nike or Adidas trainers ever could.

Two times I've thought dana did something cool. The first was when he had Liddell fight in Pride many years ago and the other was bringing Tito Ortiz back despite his annoyingness - Tito might be the one guy who bullshits more than dana.

If I'm pin pointing exactly when dana turned into an utter twat it'd be when he banned sherdog from going to events because they were covering other MMA orgs - strikeforce, WEC, etc. the only website that gets the dana white seal of approval is MMAfighting (which has always been shite) because ariel helwani is a suck up. Dana even got them to change the site to read 'UFC news'.

Yeah, really nice that, was hoping to see a bit more of it, especially the way he wings his hooks. His head movement was sublime, just crazy against someone with the sort of output Dillashaw gives.

edit: after watching this baked, dillashaw worked like a mother fucker in this fight. threw some quality kicks at dom's leg. mad watching this fucker Cruz just move. Ali.
